Kelley and ABC and whoever else. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------- "Are we all here?", Lindsay counted as the lawyer's stood outside Bobby and Lindsay's place in the hot summer sun, all dressed in casual summer gear, with backpacks here and there carrying supplies, for the long day ahead. "Ok.." Bobby started "we'll take my car and Elle's ok. Pile in." Bobby got in the drivers seat with Lindsay next to him and Helen and Eugene in the back, and Elle driving her car with Lucy in the passenger seat and Bec and Jimmy in the back, and off they went. "This is so great!" Lucy settled into her seat, singing praises to Lindsay for getting Bobby to let them go. "I haven't been to the show for years!" Jimmy exclaimed. "You have actually been to something this festive before?" Eleanor sighed and looked over to Lucy who was chirping in her seat fiddling with the radio. "How did you get to be in the front?" "I'm the radio operator, I doubt you even know what music is!" she replied as she searched for a good station. "How far have we got to go?" Bec asked with a tired sigh. "Too far. Next time Lucy goes in the other car." Jimmy whispered so Bec could here.***** "So Lindsay what did you have to do to get Bobby to agree?" Helen asked mischievously. Eugene put his head in his hands. "Oh please keep it to yourself Linds!" "See what I have to go through. I have to go and hide when they get together," Bobby explained. "Hey I sympathize with you man, Sharon's the same." "Oh we're not that bad!" Lindsay defended herself playfully. Bobby shook his head and gave a slight laugh. "Give me a break!" Lindsay gave him a whack. "I'll fill you in later Helen!" Lindsay said slyly. "Hey Linds how about some music?" Eugene asked. Lindsay turned the radio and surfed around a bit till she found a good station. "Hey Helen we know this one" Lindsay urged Helen to sing to the song that just came on the radio unfortunately for Bobby and Eugene she got right into it. "Does he love me? I wanna know," They started to bop around to the music." How can I tell if he loves me so?" Lindsay and Helen sang, like so many times before in the past. "Is it in his eyes?" Lindsay sang and then pointed to Helen where she sang her part." Oh no you'll be deceived." "Is it in his eyes?" "Oh no he'll make believe!" " Oh man save us they got parts!" Eugene laughed as the girls sang on.**** "If you wanna know... if he love you so,.... it's in his kiss,... that's where it is!" To the disappointment of Jimmy, Lucy had found the same station as Lindsay and the three girls in Elle's car sang along with Bec and Lucy waving their arms about to the song. "Oh help!" He sighed.***** "Ok man now it's our turn, show them ya stuff!" Eugene urged Bobby now as the beach boys came on. "Round, round, round, round, I get around." Eugene started then Bobby came in "I get arou----nd on the tow-----n." "You know we could start a band! Forget about law, get out the hippy outfits and away we go!" Helen laughed. "Yeah we could be Donnell, Donnell, Young and Gamble the rockatears!" Lindsay suggested as Helen started to do back up singing to the boys.***** "Now this is more like it!" Jimmy exclaimed bopping to the beach boys. "Oh your not going sing are you?" Bec asked with a scared looked on her face. "I had to listen to you guys." "Yes, but we can sing, if I listen to you I'll have nightmares for the next year!" "So sing with me or.. " he said then started to sing. "I gotta a find a new place where the chicks are hip, I get around.." "Oh quick sing!" Lucy shrieked.******. The lawyers got to the show grounds and met inside the gate. "Remind me never to drive with these people again." Eleanor sighed as she walked over to Eugene. "Right let's go sit over here and get ourselves in order." They went and sat around a table on the grass and got out their maps of the show grounds. "Ok so we are here." Lindsay pointed to where they were on the map." oh wait where's the schedule?" Lindsay and Helen shared a pamphlet and went down the list of what's on when. "Oh we have to go see the wood chopping!" Helen stated excitedly. "Since when were you interested in wood?" "Hello, since hunky men started to chop it, count me in on that Helen!" Lucy chirped. Bobby pointed to the yellow painted brick road on the ground. "Well we can go around the Yellow brick road together then split up for awhile if we want!" "What's the yellow brick road?" Lindsay put down the paper and explained the yellow brick road to those who didn't know. "Ok you get a paper from over there," she pointed to a small yellow stand. "Then follow the yellow brick road around the grounds collecting things and trying things on your way, when you collect something you get it stamped off on the paper. "Well let's go!" and so off they went the eight of them on a mission to find the emerald city! ******** "Ok it's my turn this time!" Lindsay exclaimed and collected the paper off Eugene. "Ok so wait a minute where's this stop?" Everyone started to laugh, with Lindsay straining to find where and what she had to collect. "Um Lindsay I think it's over there." Eleanor said trying to contain her giggles. Lindsay turned around and dropped her jaw. "Aaaawwwee I'm not doing that!" "Ha ha yes you are you said it's your turn!" Lindsay turned to Bobby for support with a pleading look in her eye. "Oh come on guys this isn't fair, we'll just have to skip this one!" "Your gonna have to!" Eugene said pushing her towards the stand. "Come on Linds this is nothing! Haven't you ever done this before at a party?" "Yeah but that was different, this in public, and at the parties it was just flour or water!" "Come on a little pasta never hurt anyone!" "Man! Lindsay closed her eyes, took a deep breath and strode bravely over to the pit. She kneeled down and handed the paper over to the attendant. "Now you have to find five balls with your mouth! Start whenever you're ready. Lindsay turned around and gave an evil stare towards the laughing group then closed her eyes and bent down and sunk her chin and mouth into the spaghetti with extra sauce. It didn't take her long to find four balls and pull them out but the other one was nowhere in sight. Eleanor came over and bent down. "Lindsay I think you missed one!" she said in a serious voice. "Oh shut up Eleanor!" she scolded before going back in. Finale after the gang had given themselves stitches, Lindsay emerged with the last ball. Bobby bent down to help her up. "Here Linds, all that spaghetti must have you light headed!" He laughed but Lindsay wasn't in the mood for laughing yet. "Oh come on Linds spaghetti really is your colour!" "Well if you like it so much!" She wrapped her arms around him and kissed him deeply still with her face covered in spaghetti sauce. "Gee, thanks!" "No problem!" She smiled satisfactly. The attendant handed them both a towel and they wiped their faces. "So what do we get for this one?" Jimmy asked. The attendant bent down and grabbed a restaurant voucher for the 'Pasta Place'. "Oh Lindsay you'll love this!" Eugene laughed and handed Lindsay the voucher. "Oh wow after all that all I get is a voucher!" She sighed and they moved on. "Ok Helen your next, here," Lindsay handed her the paper and Helen looked around for the stand. "Look there it is the basketball stand." Bec spotted it and led them over. "Ok Miss, three shots from the foul line." Helen picked up a ball and walked over to the line. "So do you know how to shoot?" "Um you could show me!" She flirted with the rather hunky attendant. He smiled back and helped her with her arm positions. "Oh great I get a spaghetti pit and she get's the cute basket ball guy!" "I think my basketball guy's cuter!" Lucy smiled and gazed into the clouds. Helen made the shots all in a row and collected a mini sized basketball******. After they had collected everything they came to a big tent with a sign out the front saying 'Emerald City'. They stepped into the appropriately green tent and stepped up to the bench. "Ok folks you got everything?" "Yep here!" Lucy handed the lady their paper and the lady checked it then stamped it. "Ok well since you finished you go into the draw for a trip to Disney Land L.A.! Just listen out for your number at 7:00pm at the main arena." They took their number then walked out of the tent and over to a small shop filled with funny hats and little novelty toys and things. They all looked around for something each to get. "A crown for my queen?" Bobby smiled and placed the plush queen jester crown on Lindsay's Head. "How about one for my King?" Lindsay placed a plush king jester crown on Bobby's head. "Hey I think this suits my don't ya think?" Eugene came around the corner to show Eleanor and Bec the Jamaican beret with the fake black hair that he had placed on his head. "Wow Eugene you make a really great dork I never realized that about you!" "Why thank you!" "Hey Eleanor here you go!" Lucy handed Eleanor a blown up full size red devil fork. After the eight of them picked out what they wanted they emerged from the tent, Eugene with his Jamaican beret, Bobby and Lindsay with there plush crowns, Eleanor with her devil's fork, Lucy with an orange plush top hat, Jimmy with a hat that had a toy hotdog on it, Bec with an Eiffel tower set on her head and Helen with glow in the dark star antennas attached to a headband. "Well we look like lawyers now don't we!" "Eleanor still does! Maybe even more with that fork!" "Well it's 1:00 how about some lunch?" "Sounds great!" "Ok over there, we can sit on the grass under that tree, and it's near the food tent!"Ellenor said leading them over. Everyone dumped their things on the grass, Lindsay leaned back on the tree and stayed to look after everything while the others went and got there lunch. One by one they all came back with a feast in hand. "Hey babe, shove over!" Helen kicked Lindsay lightly and sat down next to her leaning against the tree. "Hmm that smell's nice, what is it?" Lindsay asked smelling the treat Helen had in her hand. "I have no idea but I'll find out..." She took a bite and put a examining expression on." I still have no idea but it's delicious, here try some. Lucy lay on her stomach facing Lindsay and Helen eating a fruit salad with Bec and Eugene sitting next to her both with a hamburger each, and Jimmy sitting on the other side of Lucy eating a hotdog. "Hey look, it's a hotdog, wearing a hotdog, eating a hotdog!" Lucy exclaimed pointing to Jimmy. Jimmy sighed while the others broke out in laughter. "Just cause we are out of the office doesn't mean you can tease." Jimmy pouted. "Hey where's Bobby I'm starving?" Lindsay said while holding her rumbling stomach. "I don't know ? He didn't come with us." "Urrrgg Helen give some more of that!" Lindsay pleaded. "Uh no way this is too good, you'll just have to wait." Helen turned a bit so Lindsay couldn't sneak any. "Urgg I don't think I brought anything edible in our backpack, did anyone else?" Lindsay said desperately. "Surely you had enough spaghetti to last you!" Eugene laughed. "Oh that's it, he's probably trying to find you some spaghetti since you liked it so much." Helen suggested. "Ha ha your all so funny! you should be thanking me, we wouldn't of finished without me, not to mention being here!" "Oh praise lindsay!"Ellenor stated, as Bobby came over to the group. "Hey sorry it took me so long!" "Bobby, what did take you so long?" Lindsay asked with sigh of relief, "Ahh I just stopped to look at something..." He said as he sat down next to Lindsay. "So what did you get me?" Lindsay looked at him with hopeful eyes. "Here Chinese!" Bobby handed her one of two Chinese boxes. "Ahh, thank you, food!" She praised and took a bite. "Did you get anything to drink?" She asked, not taking her eyes away from the food before her as if it would run away if she did. "Yep, Solo ok?" "Ahh you know me well!" She said as Solo was her favorite. Meanwhile the others had all moved in close to Lucy and were going through the schedule to see what was happening. "Ok so the wood chopping is at 3:30pm so who wants to see that?" Helen asked taking charge. "Me for sure!" Lucy exclaimed. "Ok what about you two?" Helen asked motioning to Elle and Bec. "Sure !" "Yeah count me in!" "Ok then we can just wonder around looking at stuff and you know rides!" "Sure, so Jimmy, Eugene what are you going to do?" "Ahh what about the sport tent, they have Mark Desent there doing this football thing?" "Sure sounds great!" "Ahh Lindsay want to come see the wood chopping? Bobby you can go with the boys?" "No, thanks anyway, but we'll walk around together!" Lindsay said as she got up to see the schedule., "So when do you want meet up again?" She asked sitting back down next to Helen. "Well let's meet at the main arena at 6:00pm and have Dinner." Bobby suggested. "Yep, what's happening in the main arena at 6:00?" Bec asked while she packed her backpack up ready to go. "Um nothing much, we can just sit for awhile and talk!" "And rest!" "And other stuff, and we have to listen out for our number at 7:00. So.... we can meet on the east side stadium?" "Sure, see ya later!"***** They separated and walked around the show grounds/ "Hey Linds, do you want to go on the chair lift?" Bobby pointed to the chairs floating above their heads as Lindsay bought a box of popcorn. "Yeah sure, where's the start?" She asked walking back over to him holding out the popcorn. "Um over here." He walked her over to the stairs and up they went. "Wow the show looks pretty busy from up here!" Bobby stated and put his arm around Lindsay's shoulder. "Yeah it's a great day for it!" "hey look the others had the same idea as us!" There were two empty seats in front of them Helen and Lucy. "Here Bobby give me the popcorn!" Bobby handed over the popcorn and Lindsay took a piece and threw it at the back of Helens head. Helen turned around immediately to see Lindsay both looking out to the side as if they had nothing to do with it. "Oh like I wouldn't know it was you!" Helen yelled so they could here and Lucy turned around to see what was going on. Lindsay turned her head and gave her a 'what are you gonna do about' expression. Unfortunately Helen didn't have anything to throw. "I'll get you Lindsay!" "Oooh I'm scared Bobby save me!" She mocked.****** "Hey Bec wait I want to try this!" Eleanor said as she grabbed Bec's arm and pulled her over to a sideshow where you have to knock down the tower of bottles. "Oh Elle it's a waste of money no one wins these there rigged!" "Well you have seen me in action yet! Come on!" Eleanor said and collected the ball. she leant back and threw the ball. "Wow three Elle!" Bec said sarcastically. "Hey I still have two throws to go you just watch I know what I'm doing!" She leant back again and threw the next ball, She hit two of the last three off the table. "See one left and one throw left, I'll get it!" And she did right down the middle. "Well done, here you go miss." The attendant took a stuffed dragon off the wall and handed it over to Eleanor. "See it's not a waste of money when you know what your doing!" She laughed and they moved on down the ally.****** "Ok Jimmy you need one birdie and a hole in one to win!" Eugene and Jimmy were in the sport tent at the golf section. "Oh don't worry I'll get it, golf is my secret talent!" he said while placing his feet in right position. He hit the ball and it went straight up the curve and around into the hole. "See beautiful! It never fails!" "Ok man next one, here we go for the championship!" Eugene urged him and walked to the side to watch. Jimmy lined the ball up and put himself in position, he pulled the club back and swung it forward, the ball glide straight into the hole. "Ha ha yes!" Jimmy lifted up his arms and danced around a bit. "Ok settle down!" Eugene said getting a little embarrassed. Jimmy walked over to retrieve his prize. The attendant handed over a huge soft golf ball the size of a basketball. They walked around a bit until they got to the football area. "Ok man now it's my turn!" Eugene walked over and waited for the person in front to finish then stepped up to the line. He picked up the ball and threw it at the hole on the wall. "ooh bad luck Eugene, next time!" "Hey you watch I'll get it!" He threw again and missed again. "Alright give it up Eugene you tried!" Jimmy teased. "Uh uh third time lucky!" He threw again and it sailed right threw. "Ha told ya it just took awhile to get warmed up!"******* "Hey Bec you ever been on the mad max?" Eleanor asked as the walked over to the rides area. "No and I don't think I will!" Bec said and turned around to go the other way. "Oh come on we have a half an hour till we meet Helen and Lucy at the wood chopping!" "Well I have never been on one before but it looks to rough!" "that's a laugh a defense attorney who thinks a ride is rough!" Ellenor wouldn't take no for an answer, she pushed Bec over to the entrance up the stairs. "Eleanor I don't know about this!" Bec said as she got into the cart. Eleanor got in next to her so she couldn't get out. "Hold on tight!" The ride started out on a climb, you could see the fear building on Bec's face as the drop came near. Down they went with screams from various people but none as loud as Bec's. Finale the cart came to a stop. "You can open your eyes now Bec!" Bec slowly opened her eyes and took a deep breath. "Again?" Eleanor asked then laughed at the horrified look on Bec face.****** "All right Lucy you go around that way and I'll come from behind! Let's go!" Lucy snuck around the tent and waited for Bobby and Lindsay to walk by. Helen slowly snuck behind them. the moment Bobby and Lindsay pasted the tent Lucy jumped out and Helen ran up right behind them. "Arrggg!" Lindsay yelled as the cold water squirted her from the two giant water guns. "Ha ha I told you I would get you back!" Helen laughed as Lindsay twirled around. "Bobby help!" bobby grabbed Lindsay's hand and pulled her into a big show bag center. Helen and Lucy couldn't squirt in there. "Where did they get them from?" Lindsay asked looking at the different show bag toys fro water guns. "Look over there!" Bobby grabbed her hand again and led her over to where they were selling the guns. "I'll have four guns thanks!" Bobby said quickly and handed the women the money. "Bobby why four?" Lindsay asked while keeping an eye on Helen and Lucy waiting for them at the only way out. "Because look who's over there!" Lindsay turned around and spotted Eleanor and Bec looking at show bags. "Ooh I'll go get them!" Lindsay ran off and told them their situation and they were more than happy to help them get the D.A. and Lucy back for past things. Bobby handed out the guns and they went over to a tap at the back of the building and filled up their weapons. Luckily while they were filling up Helen had run to the sport tent, which was close by and retrieved Eugene and Jimmy to help them. This was war!\ "We ready to go?" Bobby asked and they all nodded. They snuck to the entrance and saw the other four filling Eugene and Jimmy's guns at a drink fountain. "Ready aim fire!!" Lindsay yelled and they ran forward to ambush the unready team. "Hey hurry up!" Helen yelled and ran behind a tent for cover. "First one to the Ferris wheel wins but you have to be dry!" Eugene yelled. The two teams hid behind separate tents to form their strategies. "Ok we'll get Bec to the Ferris wheel and we can defend her so she won't get wet!" "Yep bec and I will go now round the corner and through the animal tent and you two meet us at the TV center!" Lindsay said and put her hand out and the others placed their hands on top. "Let's go!" The others had started just as they came around. They were trying to get Eugene to the Ferris wheel. The two teams fought well Bec was surprisingly a fast runner. In the middle Lindsay had gotten herself drenched while defending Bec, when Lucy came around the corner and focused on getting Lindsay and let Bec get away. Bobby and Eleanor and worked very well together cornering Jimmy and making sure he would dry in time. But Helen was actually great at defending Eugene, "Hey Helen 10 o'clock!" Eugene pointed out Eleanor and Bobby who were running to meet Lindsay and Bec. "Ok let's go!" Helen whispered and started to go but Eugene pulled her back. "No they have seen us!" Helen looked over and saw Bobby pointing to them and Lindsay nodding. "Don't worry look who's coming up behind them!" Eugene looked back and saw Jimmy and Lucy sneaking up. "Ha ha good on them!"*** "Now Jimmy!" Lucy yelled and leaped forward. "Ahh run bec!!!!!!!! RUN!" Eleanor yelled and Bec bolted but it was too late Lucy ran after her and squirted her in the back just as she and Eugene reached the Ferris wheel. The rest of the gang ran up behind them. "Ha ha we win!!" Helen yelled and laughed jumping round. "Fine you win but we did shoot pretty well!" Bobby stated. "Hey I don't think you guy are wet enough do you Eugene?" Lucy asked matter of factly. "No and I think cause we won......!" They pulled up their guns and started saturating the others. "Ok ok we get it!" Lindsay stepped forward and grabbed Helen's gun. "Ok truce!" They all shook hands. "Oh the wood chopping is going to start soon quick!" Helen yelled and pulled Lucy away. "So what are you guys doing?" Lindsay asked Eugene and Jimmy. "Well we were just about to see Mark Desent so we'll see if his still there.!" Eugene and Jimmy walked off. "Hey can we go to the side shows?" Bobby asked enthusiastically. "Sure let's go!"******* "Oh my feet! I have to sit down!" Lindsay whined "Ok well let's sit over there in the middle." Bobby said as he pointed to the almost empty stand with no cover. "Come on sit down." Bobby guided Lindsay to the seat and sat down next to her placing their things at their feet. "Oh I will never eat fairy floss again!" "Ha ha too much is dangerous stuff!" Lindsay laughed as Bobby rubbed his stomach. "Well we're a little early! Shall we go get some dinner?" "Um how about I stay with our things and you go and get us something?" Lindsay stated rather than asked. "Sure um I feel like pizza how about you?" Bobby asked as he stood up and got his wallet. "Um no.... I feel pretty much like Lindsay!" "Ahh very funny, do you want to go get it?" "Ahh no I'll be fine I think you need to work of your fairy floss...and pizza would be great!" She giggled as he sighed and whacked her arm lightly. "Ok pizza it is and make sure you look out for the others!" He ordered as he went.*** It wasn't very hard to pick the others out, you could see them a mile away with all their hats. They came and dumped their stuff with Lindsay who was now feeling a little like the royal guard, and they went and got their dinner. Bobby came back first this time and saw everyone else's stuff. "So they found you ok?" "I'm kind of hard to miss, the only girl sitting on the stand and wearing a big yellow crown surrounded with show bags." Bobby laughed and sat close next to Lindsay as there was a small chill in the wind, Luckily it being summer they had dried quickly from the water fight so they were not as cold. "Hey ladies first hotdog boy!" "They're back!" Lindsay sighed to Bobby and raised her eyebrows. Jimmy had headed them and began to slide to a seat in front of Bobby and Lindsay, but a struggling Lucy with a pile of food that she was about loose wanted that seat. "All right!" Eleanor heaved "Lucy there are plenty of seats." "Fine!" She huffed mumbling something about a practical joke show bag. "So Helen how was the wood chopping?" Lindsay asked as Helen slid next to her "ohh heavenly, heat, sweat, guys, action!" "Thank you Helen!" Bobby complained. "Oh and this one guy ohh you should have been there!" Lucy said brightening up. "So what did you guys do?" Bec asked Jimmy. "We went and did just about every sport event at the sport tent! It was great and they had this fantastic patriots stand!" "Yeah man and boy does Mark Desent have a good arm talk about aim!" Eugene exclaimed. "Oh you two should have been there!" Eugene said "you could get some wedding memrabelia from the fenway stand!" He laughed. "So what did the two love birds do?" Lucy asked batter her eyes. "They sat in a tree all day, probably annoying the heck out someone!" Eleanor stated with a smirk. "Hey you know what Helen forget the band we could do standup!" Bobby laughed. "No so what did you do?" Helen asked almost excitedly. "Um just strode around, got sick on fairy floss, lost my insides on the mad max!" "Uh I know how you feel!" Bec stated holding her stomach. "Actually Bobby proved to be quite a good dart thrower." "Probably the first time he tried it without being drunk in a bar!" "Well anyway he won this and he did the sweetest thing!" Lindsay pulled out a deep red velvet pillow in the shape of a heart, her smile getting bigger and bigger as she went and sounding more and more like a love sick teenager. "He, well I can't do as well as he did.. show them Bobby!" He gave her a 'are you serous look' and raised his eyebrow. He sighed and gave an 'if I have to look'. "I think she's had too much sun and sugar!" "Bobby!" "Ok..!" He took the pillow and placed the crown from his head around it and held it out to her with both his hands. "With my hands I give you heart and crown it with my love!" "Ohhhh that's so sweet!" Helen cooed. "I know you can have your wood chopping men any day I'll take Bobby!" Lindsay said and gave him a quick kiss.***** By the time everyone had finished telling their stories of what they did it was I minute to 7:00pm. "Shhhh Jimmy it's almost 7 o'clock we have to listen for our number!" Lucy said hitting his arm and concentrating on the number in her hand. "Oh like we'll win!" Eleanor stated while searching through show bag with Helen. "Yeah after today imagine what we'll be like at Disney world!" "Huh I hate to think about it!" Bobby replied. "Shhhhhhhh!" Lucy yelled and they all quieted down and listen to the over speaker. "And now for those that are in the draw for the trip to Disney land get your numbers ready!!! the number is 2..." "Two..!" Lucy said following there number. " Five....!" "Five!" "Eight...!" "Have we got all those numbers?" Jimmy asked while the over speaker said the next number. "What number was that?" Bobby asked nervously. "I don't know cause hotdog boy wouldn't shut up!" "Shhhh maybe they'll say it again!" Lindsay said and put her hand out to shhh them. "That number is again 2..5..8..1.! who ever has got that number please come to the main office!" "Arrrrrrgg that's us we won!" Helen shouted jumping up from her seat. "Are you sure?" Eugene asked stunned. "Yes let's go!!!!" Helen pulled Lindsay's hand and the eight of them practically ran to the main office.***** "Well who would of thought!" Lindsay asked as she rested her head on Bobby's shoulder as they watched the fireworks above. "Yeah thanks for talking me into going! It's been a great day!" Bobby kissed her on the fore head. "Who said anything about talking?" She smiled mischievously. "This was great guys! It was nice to get out and have some fun!" Eugene said "Yeah, what's the time?" "Um 11 o'clock just about.
