Any similarity between this fic and real people living or dead is purely coincidental. Setting: The office of Donnell and associates approx 3 ½ years later. (Before the season that is now on `cos I'm an Aussie and haven't seen any of the episodes yet.) ***** "Eleanor" Bobby Donnell yells from his office "I need the file on the Dawson case now" "Bobby, I'm on my way out to lunch with Ben can it wait because he can't?" "No" "Well then Lucy can get them out of my desk then." Eleanor says as she closes the office door behind her. "Lucy…." Bobby practically wines from his office "I'm doing it now Bobby," Lucy says moving towards Eleanor's desk "I thought you would have been there quicker for a chance to rummage though Eleanor's desk" Rebecca says with a giggle "Gee thanks Beck I thought you were one of the nice ones." "Sorry" "Hey Beck there is a letter for Bobby in here" Lucy says grabbing the letter and having a closer look "this doesn't look like Eleanor's writing" Taking the letter from Lucy Rebecca looks at it too "it's not, it's probably from that creep Ben Eleanor's dating" "Wow you don't like him either" "There is something about him." "I bet he abuses her" Rebecca gives Lucy a you've got to be joking look "what? I know the type my sister dated a guy like that, he was a creep and he abused her, not physical but emotional. I wouldn't be surprised if he's belted her." Rebecca looks at Lucy and realises she shouldn't even bother trying to reason with her. She looks at the letter "I'm going to give it to him, you better get the file" "Ok, wait Beck there's a letter, same writing, for Helen Gamble." "Really?" "No Rebecca I enjoy pretending there's letters in peoples desks. Give the letter to Bobby and I'll read this one." Lucy sits down at the desk and starts to open it, Rebecca runs to Lucy and snatches it out of her hands. "I wasn't going to read it." "I wouldn't be so sure" Rebecca mumbles as she knocks on Bobby's door. "I heard that" "Bobby" "Come in Beck" Rebecca enters Bobby's office, books were piled up on the table and he had his nose in one. "Do you have the Dawson file for me? Or is this other business, if so can it wait I'm kinda busy." "Lucy was looking for the file and found this letter addressed to you in Eleanor's desk, there's one for Helen too." Bobby looks up from his work Rebecca could tell by his red eyes that he had been working hard. "Maybe you should take a break." Bobby smiles at Rebecca "Can't there isn't enough time I have to have this done by next week. Where's the letter? As Rebecca passes the letter she sees Bobby's face fall. She can tell he recognises the writing on the front and knows its time to leave Bobby alone. Bobby looks at the letter he knows its from Lindsay but what he doesn't know its why Eleanor had it and how long it had been there for. He remembers the last conversation they had "Lindsay why the hell did you have to tell Helen about us, it was just sex nothing more. Why do you have to jeopardize Helens and my relationship"? "I told her Bobby, not to ruin your relationship but because it would be easier to tell her." "TELL HER WHAT?" "I'm pregnant Bobby, the baby is yours." "Liar. Your are not you really want to break us up don't you, you cant bear to see us happy with each other." "How can you say that Bobby? I love both of you I happy you are happy together but I'm pregnant and you have to deal with it." "No, Lindsay you have to I'm going to try and work out my relationship and I don't want you around while I do it." "If you want me to stay out of it I will" "No I want you out of my life, I never want to see you again. Bobby's thoughts were interrupted by Jimmy rushing back into the office yelling "When I was picking up Zoey from day care there was a little boy who looked just like Bobby, I swear its true." ***** Thats it for now it probably needs a lot more work sorry about the errors it been a while since I went to school Title: Changed My Mind part 2 Author: SirKnightAlot Author's note: This is my first ever fanfic so please be kind. I've had this idea in my head for almost a year now so I'm now putting it down so you can all see what kind of weird thoughts wonder around in my big head. Disclaimer: None of the characters in this story are mine except the ones that I invent but they will receive names when I write them in. Any similarity between this fic and real people living or dead is purely coincidental. Setting: continued from part 1 The reality of Bobby's situation hit him not only had he treated a good friend like dirt all those years ago but they also have a child together, quite possibly the one Jimmy saw. Bobby sat at his desk with his head in his hands and wondered what he was going to do he had a child one he had never met but it wasn't like he didn't try to get in contact with her he called her parents but they never told him where she was they only told him what they thought of him, he didn't know who else to call. Why hadn't she contacted him it wasn't just his responsibility she was responsible too. "Bobby?" He didn't even her the door open "Bec what do you want?" he didn't mean to come off that rudely but she had startled him. "I just thought you might like to talk that's all. Its just after what Jimmy said I got to wondering could it be you kid, its it Bobby?" not shaken at all by Bobby's rudeness. "Yeah it could be" "How well I know how but who, you do know who don't you Bobby? "Yes I do" Bobby snapped he was offended "Sorry" she knew she wouldn't get far with this conversation with Bobby his temper was getting worse as they spoke "Whose the mother?" she asked knowing this would be the last question she would ask him for the rest of the day if not her life time. To her surprise his mood softened. "Lindsay" "Lindsay?" she yelled with surprise she wasn't going to leave until she had all the information there was "when did that happen?" "Not long before she left" "You were with Helen then Bobby, you cheated on Helen with her best friend. How could you?" "I didn't cheat on Helen, well not exactly" "What does that mean not exactly, oh god I don't want to hear about things that you and Helen did in the bedroom, I thought Helen would be into that kind of thing but you and Lindsay as well yuck Bobby." "No Bec I slept with Lindsay before I was officially dating Helen." "How long before?" her voice softened and Bobby was glad for that he needed someone to talk to about this but he didn't want the whole office to know. "The night before" Bobby said cautiously he didn't want her to yell again "You slept with Lindsay and you got her pregnant the night before you started dating Helen?" Rebecca yelled loud enough for the whole building to hear. "Yes" Bobby said dropping his head back into his hands knowing now the whole office knew what he and Rebecca was talking about. "Whose Lindsay?" Lucy asked Jimmy "She worked her before you came here" "Was she the first or does Bobby sleep with all his colleagues?" "No he usually sleeps with his clients" "Hi what did I miss?" Eugene says as he enters the door "Well…" Lucy quickly said she wasn't going to miss the opportunity to tell Eugene about Bobby "Bobby slept with Lindsay the day before he started dating Helen so bobby and Lindsay have a kid" Lucy was so happy she loved gossip especially if it was about her boss "Your kidding right?" Eugene asked sill holding his coat that he was putting up before he heard the gossip. "No we aren't its true I saw the kid today when I was picking up Zoey" Jimmy stated in a way that reflected a little kid who was proud of his first painting. "Are you sure its his?" "It looked just like him" Jimmy and Lucy said in unison. "Wow" is all Eugene could manage to say he couldn't believe it bobby and Lindsay have a kid it was unbelievable. "God Bec what am I going to do? I treated her so badly when I found out she was pregnant I want to see her but I just cant go up to her and say `sorry Linds forgive me and let me be a father to my kid' what am I going to do?" "You knew she was pregnant when you told her to leave?" "I just needed some space from her, she had just told Helen we slept together and just told me she was pregnant I didn't know how to react. I didn't want her to leave I just didn't want to loose Helen I thought I loved her and all I could think was Lindsay wants to ruin it." "Bobby you need to find her and tell her how you felt then and how you feel now. She from what I remember is an understanding person, so talk to her bobby" "I've tried to find her but I cant" "Bobby if she uses the same child care centre as Eleanor she must work around here." "Ill look at the small law firms in the area first" Bobby said with some confidence, he loved talking with Rebecca. "Bobby you're not using your head on this one are you?" "What do you mean?" His confidence dropping "Lindsay is a great no fantastic lawyer don't you think if a small law firm had her we would be reading about it in the papers or seeing it on the news." "Oh god Bec I cant ring all the big firms asking for Lindsay Dole. What am I going to do, I need a miracle" "Bec there's a Paul Dole one line two for you" Lucy yelled from her desk "Paul Dole, maybe that might be the miracle I'm looking for" Bobby said grabbing the phone "It might be a coincidence so keep your grubby paws of my phone Robert Donnell" Rebecca said slapping his had and walking to her desk. With Rebecca gone bobby took the advantage of reading the letter in private. He picked up the envelope off his desk and traced his name on the front. Opening up the envelope he started to feel his hands shake Bobby, I'm writing this letter to apologise to you with hope that you will forgive me. I know how stubborn we can both be so I've decided to make the first move I beg you to forgive me for what I have done I did it because I'm scared bobby I cant do this alone I need your support. I'm sorry for what I did I know that I should have told you first but I thought telling Helen would be better for me. I know it is hard to understand how either one of you are feeling right now I really hope I haven't ruined your relationship you two are great for each other if I didn't think that I wouldn't have pushed you two together. I will grant your wishes and leave until you feel you can bear to face me again, we do need to talk Bobby. I will be in England for the next few weeks though and my grandmas if you ring my home phone it will be diverted to her number. Please call me Bobby if you don't I will try my best to do it alone. Love Lindsay. "Oh my god Eleanor's had this letter since she left" Bobby whispered to himself "Bobby sorry to interrupt but its about the Paul Dole I spoke to on the phone" Rebecca said knocking on the door "What about him Bec?" "He's Lindsay's Brother" That's it for now I hope you like it. Title: Changed My Mind Author: SirKnightAlot Author's note: I've had this idea in my head for almost a year now so I'm now putting it down so you can all see what kind of weird thoughts wonder around in my big head. Or maybe Ive been watching to many episodes of Bold and the Beautiful Summary: Let's see, without giving too much away Lindsay left the firm after the sex with Bobby and when he started with Helen. He has discovered he has a son to Lindsay who looks just like him. Disclaimer: None of the characters in this story are mine except the ones that I invent but they will receive names when I write them in. Any similarity between this fic and real people living or dead is purely coincidental. Setting: after part 2 "He's Lindsay's brother?" thoughts started running through his head the worst one was that something happened to Lindsay "is Lindsay ok?" that came out more panicked then he wanted it to. "Yeah I guess so, it never really came up" "Why did he ring then?" "Well like I said coincidence, he's the DA on the Roberts case, he's on his way over if you wanna ask him about Lindsay though" Bobby just gave Rebecca a look, which said drop it now, so she did and got ready for her meeting with Paul Dole. Paul Dole arrived about a half hour later Bobby watched him through his office window, there was no mistaking him for Lindsay's brother he had the same hair colour same shaped eyes (his eyes were brown) same nose and when he shook Rebecca's hand he saw it, what he had been missing all that time she had been gone, the smile. When he saw the smile he remembered Lindsay her smile it melted his heart, he knew it now what he had been denying from the moment he first saw her he was in love with her, Robert Donnell loved Lindsay Dole. And as soon as Rebecca and Paul were finished with their meeting he would demand Paul to tell him where Lindsay was. Bobby left his office and waited for the door of the conference room to open. "Bobby what are you doing?" "What do you mean Eugene, cant I stand out here and see how every thing is going, it is my law firm you know." "Yes I do know but you have work to do on the Dawson case and staring at the door of the conference room isn't really seeing how everything is going." As Eugene finished talking the door opened Bobby was about to ask Paul about Lindsay but the look on Paul's face stopped Bobby. "Are you ok Mr. Dole you look like you have seen a ghost" Lucy asked looking between Bobby and Paul. "What? Oh Im ok…its just that…he…my sister, I have to go" Paul said then he ran out of the door. "What a strange man" Lucy commented before looking at a piece of paper on her desk. Bobby returned to his office and sat at his desk he was closely followed by Rebecca. "Bec not now please." Bobby said putting his head in his hands; he had been doing nothing but that today. "I've got something you might like to see Bobby" "And what would that be?" Bobby muttered not even lifting his head "A certain Lindsay Doles home address and phone number" "How did you get that?" Rebecca was shocked, not by his question but by his reaction, one moment he was sitting at his desk with his face buried in his hands and the next he was jumping out of his chair and snatching the piece of paper from her hand "Well I explained to Paul how I was a good friend of Lindsay and I lost touch with her after she left and I asked him if he could give me her contact number." "He gave you the address to?" "Yeah well he said her boys answer the phone before she even hears it ringing and she never gets calls so he gave me the address too" "Boys?" Did he hear her correctly Lindsay had more than one child he could feel his heart break at that very moment. How could Bobby think that Lindsay would stay single during the years they were apart, she was smart beautiful but she should be mine, Lindsay is mine, I love her "Bobby are you ok? Would you like me to go to her house first and tell her you want to see her?" "No Bec I need to do this, I need to do it. But not now I need time, I think ill go home" "Ill tell Lucy to take you messages and everyone that you shouldn't be called unless it's an emergency" Rebecca said squeezing his hand for comfort. Bobby smiled at her then grabbed his coat and left. The next day Bobby pulled up outside Lindsay's house and he could feel the butterflies fluttering around in his stomach "Don't chicken out now Robert" Bobby whispered to himself and slowly walked up to the front door. The door was open he could see inside through the screen door, he worked up the courage and gave it a knock. "Hello" Bobby looked down as he saw the screen opening and heard a little voice. "Hi" Bobby said back, looking at the little boy who was looking back at him. God he could tell this was Lindsay's child the hair the nose the cheek bones the chin the mouth but those eyes, Bobby was taken back those eyes were his. This was his and Lindsay's son, then who was the boy Jimmy had seen? "You my buvva?" the little boy asked Bobby nearly laughed but decided it wasn't a good idea knowing how serious the boy was. "Your brother? No I'm not" "You sure, you look like him" the boys eyes were growing wider "see" the boy said grabbing Bobby's had and dragging him inside. "There that's my buvva Ethan," he said pointing at a picture on the wall of the boy and another boy who looked just like Bobby. That must have been the boy Jimmy had seen, he looked exactly like Bobby. "Look" the boy, said sticking his finger up towards Bobby's face, there was a Pooh Bear bandage on it. "Oh dear what happened?" "I burnt it on my tose" "On your toes?" "No my bekfas" "Oh your toast" "Yeah mummy made it better with Pooh Bear" "Tyler who are you talking to?" Bobby heard a voice yell from down the hall, it brought those butterflies back fluttering more than before. She was going to come in here and see him. Did he have time to run out the door before she came here? "A man" the boy yelled back, his name must be Tyler Bobby thought as he heard footsteps coming down the hall fast she was running. "Bobby?" no time to run she was here. Any similarity between this fic and real people living or dead is purely coincidental. Setting: Lindsay's house after part 3 "Bobby?" Bobby started to panic he wanted to talk to her, he knew he needed to but now with her standing directly in front of him he knew he should have ran when he had the chance. "What are you doing here?" "I…um…err" he couldn't make out any words all he could do was look at her, she was so beautiful. A baby crying startled him "ill be right back. Sit down" Lindsay said pointing to the sofa before walking back the way she came. `A baby oh my god she has a baby' Bobby thought to himself looking at the photos on the wall. One photo broke his heart; it was of Lindsay, the two boys whose names he thinks are Ethan and Tyler and also with a man and a baby. They were all so happy together Bobby knew it was too late for him to make amends with Lindsay. "Man are you gonna sit down?" Bobby looked down he forgot about Tyler. "Uh no I think I'm going to go, I have work to do" Bobby told the boy walking towards the door. "Bye Bye" the boy waved to him as he walked to his car. Lindsay walked back to the door and stood with her son and watched as Bobby drove off. "He has work to do" Tyler said matter-of-factly "Yeah" Lindsay said softly trying to fight back the tears of anger and sadness that were forming in her eyes. "Come on sweetie we have to get ready for day care. Where's your brother?" "ETHAN" "Ty, don't use your outdoor voice inside k" "K" "Arggh" Ethan ran in with his hands like claws "I'm a munsa" "Well little monster have you seen Ethan he has to go to day care and I cant find him" "Its me mummy, I was pretended there no munsa" "You pretend so well honey but we have to go now so can both you boys get your backpacks and ill get Josh" Lindsay watched both her boys run off with sadness, she was happy to see Bobby although she did want to hit him and yell at him but she also wanted to hold him. It was so hard for Lindsay to try and forget about him, she had loved him for so long but watching her boys grow up alone and with one of them looking just like him it was so hard. "Ready" both of her children yelled at her waking her from her thoughts "Ok lets go to the car then" Lindsay said with her head still full of thoughts "Not yet ma you silly there no Josh" "Yeah" Lindsay said with a smile while she was deep in thought she for got to get the baby. Lindsay was about to walk out the door when she saw Paul there. "Paul what are you doing here?" "We need to talk" "Can it wait I'm in a hurry" Lindsay said trying to push her way past her brother. Paul put his arm up to stop her from going past her "No it cant wait we are going to talk now. Boys go to your room and play for a while" The two boys looked up at their mother for her approval of what their uncle said to them. Lindsay nodded and smiled at her children to show them that she would be fine. For two year olds they were extremely protective of their mother. Before leaving the room they gave one last look at their mother to make sure she was fine, when they were content they ran to their room. It amazed Lindsay how much time it took to help her boys walk and how proud she was of it when they did but now she was spending most her time and effort trying to stop them from running. "Sit down then Paul. Would you like a coffee" as much as she wanted to leave she knew that Paul would stay as long as it took for him to get what he says through her stubborn head and Lindsay was going to avoid the conversation as long as she could. "Just sit down Lindsay" he wasn't raising his voice but it was said with firmness that made Lindsay sit and get ready for the ambush of words that would start coming from his mouth. "You are a liar Lindsay" Lindsay looked at him confused where had this come from, it wasn't a great conversation started, she had no clue what he was talking about. "Paul I don't…" "Don't play dumb with me Lindsay. This whole time you have been playing the innocent single mother `oh I'm single, I have two kids they have no father, I have nobody to help me' but the whole time that was a lie. You slept with your boss left him and your job, you did this your self Lindsay don't blame him for it." "I'm not blaming him for anything Paul…" "I haven't finished" "Yes you have I had to listen to you now you can listen to me. I never one told you or anyone that my children have no father, I'm not saying what I did was right but I asked for his support and I got nothing from him. So Paul why don't you butt out this once ok it is my life not yours." She was yelling at him so hard she was finding it hard to stay seated. "You are my sister Lindsay I love you don't you ask me to butt out of your life." "Just mind your own business" Lindsay's voice softened "You don't mean that Linds your hurting and you want to lash out fine lash out on me but don't act like you don't need his help you do, I know your not coping as well as you are making out." "Why are you always right?" Lindsay asked her brother smiling "Because I'm Paul Dole and Paul Dole is always right, that's just the way life is, deal with it sis." "You are so full of it" "In all seriousness Linds have you talked to him?" "I've tried" "Not hard enough obviously, try again before its too late " Paul got up to leave "don't get to comfortable don't you have somewhere to go?" "Yeah goodbye nice3 to see you drop in again soon" Lindsay said quickly pushing her brother out the door "BOYS TIME TO GO" "Don't use your outdoor voice inside ma," Tyler said as they both came running with their backpacks slung over their shoulders. "Watch it buddy" Lindsay looked at her son she smiled as he smiled back at her "Have you got the baby this time?" Ethan said as the were walking to the car "Enough already" Lindsay cried as they all piled into the car. When Lindsay finally got the boys to day care she decided to head straight for Bobby's office, if he wasn't going to talk to her she was going to talk to him. While driving to the office Lindsay thought back to the amount of times she tried to get hold of him before she had the boys. She went to the office when she got back from England, after numerous phone call and only getting the machine she thought she would go and talk to him in person and not leave a message. Lindsay got to the building and was standing outside the office door not sure wether to go in or not, remembering last time she was here she met with Eleanor "Eleanor is Bobby here?" Lindsay asked hoping that she didn't notice the slight bump on her stomach. "Yeah but he's busy" she spat bitterly back at her "Oh could you get him to give me a call then" "Look Lindsay he doesn't want to see you" "You did give him the letter didn't you?" "Yes of course I did Lindsay but Bobby he doesn't care about you none of us do so it would be best if you left now and never came back" Lindsay didn't want that to happen again but she wasn't going to let anything or anybody stop her. Bobby wanted to see Lindsay she knew it why else would he have come. She pushed open the door and walked in "Can I help you?" Lucy asked when she saw her "Oh yeah I was looking for Bobby Donnell" seeing someone she didn't know threw her off she was expecting to see Rebecca at the desk. "He's not here, meeting with a client," a familiar voice said behind her "Eugene, hi" Lindsay said turning around "Good to see ya" he said grabbing her and hugging her tightly "I'm Lucy Hatcher and you are?" Lucy asked with her hand extended "Lindsay Dole" Lindsay said shaking her hand "Oh the chick Bobby knocked up nice to meet you" "Yeah" Lindsay said worriedly "Don't worry about her she really does grow on you" Eugene reassured Lindsay "So does Bec still work here?" "Yeah she's a lawyer now, didn't you know?" "No I didn't, that's great" "What's great?" Rebecca asked walking through the door "You are" Lindsay said "congratulations on passing the bar" "Lindsay oh my god how are you?" Rebecca screamed and hugged her "Can we talk? If your not too busy" "I'm never too busy for friends come on we can go in Eugene's office. "So are you here to talk about Bobby, I'm sorry I gave him your address if that bothers you" "No it doesn't bother me I was just wondering if you knew why he ran away" "No I didn't even know he ran away, I knew he went there but he didn't want to talk about it so I let it go you know what Bobby's like when he's in his mood" "Yeah" Lindsay said sadly, she missed those moods "So did he meet your son? Jimmy saw him at day care, does he really look like Bobby?" "Oh Ethan, yeah he looks exactly like Bobby but he only met Tyler" "Tyler?" Rebecca was really confused now "Our other son" Lindsay explained but watching the look of confusion grow on Rebecca's face she added, "I had twins" "Oh congratulations. Do you have any photos? "Yes" Lindsay said putting her hand in her handbag and pulling out the photos of her children she took everywhere and passed them to Rebecca. A knock at the door distracted them "I'm sorry to interrupt you but I need my office and Bobby is here," Eugene said as he sat at his desk The look on Lindsay's face must have expressed how worried she was because Eugene said, "don't worry Linds he's in a good mood" Lindsay left Eugene's office closely followed by Rebecca. Bobby saw her straight away "Lindsay what are you doing here?" "I think we need to talk" Bobby nodded and they both walked into his office. "This has to be good" Lucy commented getting up from her chair "Don't even think about it Lucy" Rebecca warned her "I wasn't going to I promise, god cant you people take a joke" Lucy said as she slumped back down in her chair. Bobby couldn't look at her he just looked at the things on his desk while Lindsay looked at the floor. This happened for a few minutes until Lindsay broke the silence "Bobby?" Bobby looked at her, her eyes were sad and Bobby followed his first instinct, which was to embrace her. "I'm sorry Lindsay please forgive me," Bobby said burying his face in her neck and crying Lindsay hugged him back, not sure why she was mad at him for not calling her, for running out on her earlier today, but she still couldn't let go. Bobby eventually stopped crying and looked Lindsay in the eyes, they stared at each other for what seemed like an eternity and eventually they brought their lips together and kissed passionately. No one was sure who initiated it but neither of them was fighting it. Title: Changed My Mind Author: SirKnightAlot Author's note: Hello to those few people who are still reading my fic, this is just a quick note to say that this is going to be the last part to this fic so I hope you enjoy and that it doesn't seem too rushed. Summary: you should know what's happening by now if not I'm sorry for confusing you Disclaimer: None of the characters in this story are mine except the ones that I have invented; Tyler, Ethan, Paul, Ben, Tony and Josh. Any similarity between this fic and real people living or dead is purely coincidental. They both finally broke away from the kiss and just stared at each other. Bobby was staring a Lindsay thinking `oh my god I've missed that' Lindsay who was looking back at bobby was thinking `that shouldn't have happened I should have stopped it' "Bobby we do need to talk" Lindsay spoke not only breaking the silence but Bobby's thoughts. "Yeah I know. How `bout we do it over a meal?" "Meal?" "Yes lunch, you haven't eaten already have you? Ill pay" Lindsay was getting nervous now she started thinking that this wasn't such a great idea "that sounds great Bobby but you did just get back, don't you have work to do?" "Hey I'm the boss I can come and go as I please. Like you said we do need to talk, the work can wait." Bobby was smiling at her now with the eagerness of a puppy ready for its walk, how could she resist "well I guess its not everyday Bobby Donnell puts anything ahead of work, how could I resist." She returned his smile. Bobby grabbed her arm and started leading her out of the office "follow me I know this great little place" "Wait Bobby you did say you were paying right?" "Yes" "Well in that case lead the way" They both left the office laughing much to the surprise of the others in the office. "Well what happened in there then?" Rebecca asked herself out loud "You know Bec if you let me listen like I was going to I could tell you every single detail" Rebecca looked at Lucy and then got back to her work, Lucy just shrugged her shoulders and arranged the stuff on the desk. At the café where Bobby and Lindsay were having lunch there was an uncomfortable silence, both of them wanted answers to the many questions in their heads but neither had the nerve to ask. "So are you seeing someone?" Lindsay asked quietly breaking the silence once again "No why?" "The only question I could think of that would break the silence" "It's a pretty lame question, it's nearly as bad as saying `lovely weather we are having'" "Well it worked didn't it" "I guess so, so are you seeing anyone" "No I live with a guy though" "But you're not a couple?" "Nope just live and work together" "So was that a picture I saw of him on the wall at your place?" "What picture?" "You Ethan, Tyler, a man and a baby?" "Yeah that's him, Tony" "And the baby is it yours?" please say no please say no bobby thought to himself "Legally but not biologically" "Thank god" Bobby whispered "What was that?" Lindsay thought she would let it pass but from what she remembered it wasn't often she saw Bobby squirm and it was worth it. "You are going to have to explain that" Bobby said trying to get this composure back he could tell she was enjoying it. "Well without going into too much detail, the mother had the baby left after the birth leaving the father to look after it, he couldn't cope without her killed himself leaving the closest living relative - Tony and the godmother - me, to look after him" "Gosh that's a pretty sad story" "Yeah, so while we are avoiding talking about what we need to, how on earth did you guys hire a girl like Lucy." "I have absolutely no idea," Bobby said laughing. When their meals came they finally got to talk about what they needed too and before Lindsay had to rush off to work they arranged for her and the boys to have dinner with him and the rest of office that night to catch up. Well that's what Bobby said but he really wanted his closest friends with him because he was scared as hell to meet his two boys officially for the first time. Back at the office Eleanor came rushing in, she dropped her files off on the desk and was hunting around for her purse. "Eleanor what on earth happened to your face?" Eleanor absently touched her cheek where there was a large bruise. Why did anyone have to notice that now and why did it have to be Lucy? She thought to herself. "Oh I was changing Zoey and she kicked me in the face" Eleanor knew she wouldn't buy it but she knew it would shut her up in time for her to leave, she was running late and Ben would be angry already she couldn't leave him waiting any longer. Lucy looked up at Eleanor she was going to challenge what she just said but was interrupted by Bobby rushing through the door with the biggest smile on his face that she had seen the whole time she had worked there. It was short lived though when he saw Eleanor. "ELEANOR MY OFFICE NOW" Bobby yelled and it made everyone jump. "Bobby I cant I'm running late as it is cant it wait until I get back" Eleanor replied as she turned her back and headed towards the door. "If you walk out that door you wont have a job to come back to," Bobby said through gritted teeth. Eleanor backed away from the door and slowly followed bobby into his office. When she entered he slammed the door so hard that all the windows in the office rattled. "Bobby I am running really late so if you could hurry this up and I will apologise for what ever I did was wrong and then let me leave I would really appreciate it." She was talking quietly, she had no idea what she did wrong, and she did extremely well in court today so it couldn't be that. "Well I'm so sorry to keep you from your date Eleanor" Bobby was using so much sarcasm in his voice it was almost irritating him "but if you answer my two questions I will let you go, hell you could probably take the rest of the day off" `Ok that good to questions, two simple questions fire away Bobby I'm ready' Eleanor thought feeling her whole body calm down. "Here are my questions Eleanor I hope you are ready, question one a few days ago Lucy found one of two letters in your desk one addressed to me and the other to Helen Gamble both from Lindsay, they were both written almost three years ago. WHAT THE HELL WERE THEY DOING IN YOUR DESK? And my second question, a few months after she gave you these letters she came here and you told her that not only had you given me the letter but I did not want to see her, WHY?" Eleanor was leaning up against the wall on the verge of tears; she looked up at Bobby but knew she would get no sympathy from him. "Eleanor you answer me now" Bobby couldn't even look at her he was full of such hatred towards her he felt like yelling at her, he already had but he needed to do more he wanted to hurt her like she had hurt him by keeping Lindsay from him. "I'm sorry Bobby I thought I was doing the right thing" was all she could get out before the tears started flowing down her cheeks. "Your sorry is that all you can say sorry. You keep her from me on purpose I have missed the first two years of my children's lives and you thought you were doing the right thing. I thought you were my friend Eleanor" Bobby spat the words at her just looking at her made him sick. "I am your friend Bobby, if I knew she was pregnant Bobby…" "What has that got to do with anything you still had no right Eleanor it had nothing to do with you" "Bobby I wanted to keep her away from you because I was your friend, I saw how much she was hurting you it was ruining your relationship with Helen, you said so yourself that you thought she was the one, with Lindsay around I thought it would make it worse. I am sorry Bobby" "You still had no right it should have been my choice, not someone who has always been jealous of her" "I was not jealous of her Bobby and even if I was it was an act of friendship for you bobby not an act of jealousy towards her." "I think you should go now Eleanor, take the rest of the day off. Everyone has been invited to McCounts for dinner with Lindsay and the boys tonight I would appreciate it if you don't come" Bobby said as he opened his office door and led and crying Eleanor out the door. Everyone was looking at him but he wasn't going to let them get to him. He spoke first before anyone could say anything to him "tonight at 6:00 we are all invited to have dinner with Lindsay and the boys at McCounts to catch up on lost time, I would appreciate it if you all came" and after saying that he walked into his office and closed the door. "Do you know what that was about?" Eugene asked no one in particular "Who cares, dinner at six that means we leave work early for once" Lucy said happily before answering the ringing phone one her desk. Rebecca just shrugged at him and they all went back to work. That night Lindsay, Bobby, Ethan and Tyler entered the restaurant to see everyone had been seated and had their drinks already. Lindsay thought it would be a good idea if they came together to give them all a little time to get to know each other. Lindsay said hello to everyone and introduced them to Ethan and Tyler. Lindsay felt happy to be sitting down with her old friends and talking to them but it did make her sad when they told her funny stories that she wasn't part of, she blamed Eleanor for that. Bobby told her the reasons Eleanor gave him for not giving him the letter and telling her he didn't want to see her, and she was glad she wasn't here tonight for that reason. Part of her did feel for Eleanor though she could see where she was coming from, Bobby was hurt when Lindsay left and when he and Helen broke up, Eleanor saw Lindsay as the cause of this and wanted Bobby to move on not keep looking back to the past where the pain was. It was wrong but part of Lindsay felt that if the tables were turned she might have done the same thing. The night was wearing on, Tyler was almost asleep and Ethan did his best to keep moving and talking so he wouldn't do the same. Lindsay told Bobby that she was going to take the boys home to bed and she wouldn't mind if he stayed. "No I'm ready to leave as well I'll just get the check and I'll help you with the boys" "Well he's trying to make a good impression" Lucy remarked as Bobby went to the counter to pay for the meal. "What do you mean?" Lindsay wasn't sure what she was talking about but they all seemed to know Bobby better than she did. "Bobby is such a tight ass he never pays for anyone else and now you're here he pays for all of us" "Oh" Lindsay said grabbing an asleep Tyler to try and hide her red cheeks "Ethan can you pick up your toys we are going to go now." "That's not mine ma that's Ty's" Ethan said pointing to the pile of toys on the floor. "Your brothers asleep can you pick them up now please" Lindsay was getting tired and now she had to argue with a sleepy stubborn two year old. "They not my toys" Ethan looked his mother in the eyes and had his hands on his hips "Ethan pick them up" Lindsay had not often lost her patience with her children but she was getting close "NO" Ethan had a crowd of people watching him now and he loved an audience "Come on buddy its time to go home and I think mummy wants to go to bed so how `bout you help her by picking up these toys" Bobby said amazed as Ethan stared to do as he asked. Lindsay was not as impressed, he was her son, well he was his as well, but he knew her he should listen to her not him. Ethan put every last toy in the backpack they had brought and looked up at this mother "I wanna get carried" "Put the back pack on and I'll carry you" Lindsay said surprised by her son's sudden change in mood Ethan had just put the back pack on and reached up to his mother when Bobby jumped in front of him "Ethan why don't you say goodbye to everyone and then I'll let you ride on my shoulders `til we get to the car" "Alright" Ethan's mood had changed again "GOODBYE EVERYONE" he yelled and waved then ran to Bobby and jumped into his arms. "Goodbye" they said back all noticing Lindsay's glare at Bobby, they also noticed her forced smile when she said goodbye to them. When they were walking through the door Bobby and Ethan started singing Old McDonald had a farm with Ethan bouncing happily on Bobby's shoulders. "What?" Bobby asked when he finally saw the annoyed look on Lindsay's face "Bobby it is almost 1 in the morning the boys usually go to bed at 7:30 at the latest I would just appreciate it if you would stop winding up a child who should be fast asleep by now" "I'm not gonna go sleep ma I'm not tired" Ethan yelled from Bobby's shoulders. The look on Lindsay's face said it all "Sorry" Bobby whispered in her ear as he placed Ethan in his car seat "forgive me?" "Don't let it happen again," Lindsay said half serious. The drive to Bobby's house was quiet unless you include the constant chatter from Ethan in the back seat. When they arrived at Bobby's house Lindsay walked Bobby to the door. "I am sorry about the whole Ethan thing, I'm not around kids that much, well not at all and I just didn't know what to do" Bobby said apologetically "Its ok I'll put the on the radio on the way home and he will be asleep before we get there." "I just hope I wont be too much of a bad influence on them growing up" "Does that mean you are going to be an active father?" "Of course if you don't mind." "Why would I mind? You are a great guy and defiantly great father material" "How would you know that?" "I'm a mother and a mother always knows" "They are great kids" "Yeah I think ill keep them" Lindsay laughed. But suddenly got serious "about the kiss earlier today, I think we should keep our relationship purely about the kids." Although she said that she was silently thinking `please don't agree please Bobby don't' A disappointed Bobby agreed, "yeah our last relationship was wrong and we shouldn't get the kids caught up in something like that" "Goodbye Bobby" Lindsay whispered in Bobby's ear as she kissed his cheek "Bye" Bobby replied softly They were both caught up in they're own sadness they didn't notice that nether of them wanted to be with each other. Bobby didn't watch Lindsay leave; instead he took off his clothes and lay on his bed in his Black boxers. He thinks of Lindsay as he turned on his radio, he thinks about ringing her but decides not too, she doesn't want me for anything more than to father her kids. * Standing on the sand Waiting for the wave you said would come But nothing happens here There's nothing Reaching for your hand Knowing that you save it for no-one You whispered in my ear Goodbye I never wanted to let you down Your love was close, now I look around I never wanted to let you down * Lindsay took one last look at the door to Bobby's place, hoping he would still be there, he wasn't. If only he had disagreed with her she could be with him now. But he doesn't want to be anything more than just a father to their children so she would just have to deal with it and move on. As she drove of she looked back at her boys, Tyler was fast asleep and Ethan was still chatting away to himself, she caught his eye and he smiled at her. She turned back to the road and turned on the radio. * Lying on the floor Thinking of the way you left me here Here it comes again Moving in for war Waiting for the day when you'll be near You whispered in my ear Goodbye I never wanted to let you down Your love was close, now I look around I never wanted to let you down I never wanted you gone But you've chosen your choice Now that I've changed my mind THE END ************** That's the end I hope you liked it. I know a lot of things didn't get a lot of attention in my story like the Eleanor/Ben thing but if I get enough feed back on this Fic I was planning to right another one continuing from this one but focused more on Eleanor/Ben. Oh yeah I forgot to right in the disclaimer bit that the song I used at the end of this fic wasn't mine it was a song by a band called the Trims the song was titled Changed My Mind (yes the same as the fic) I think it was written by Paul Vallen in 2000, geez I hope that's right. This Fic was written by the People for the People (SirKnightAlot for anyone who reads it) KNIGHT
