Lady in Red Title: Lady in Red Author: Rena (renaonpc@yahoo.com) This takes place soon after Bobby and Lindsay get together, but they are not living together at this point. Characters: They belong to David E. Kelley and The Practice. -------------------------------------------------------------- Everyone is in the office and it’s early afternoon. Bobby: Everyone remember, tonight is the Boston Lawyer’s Ball and I paid for everyone to attend. Please make sure to go. Raymond Oz is being honored and I think we should all be there and show him our support. I’m due in court in a half hour on the Williams case. I don’t think we’ll close today, but I can’t be too sure. Lindsay, I’ll give you a call and then we can decide what time I’ll pick you up. (Bobby gives Lindsay a smile and walks out the door) Ellenor: I can’t believe that dance is tonight. I’m not feeling up to it. Rebecca: Come on Ellenor, this is a perfect time for us to meet some available lawyers!! Who knows, our future husbands may be waiting for us. You can not NOT go! Everyone laughs. Rebecca: And besides, we all hardly ever go out together to fancy galas like this, it should be fun. Ellenor: FINE Rebecca, I’ll go. I can’t disappoint Bobby anyway, after all he did pay more than $100 for each of us to go. I’ll head out early today so I can look wonderful for my future husband. (she says sarcastically!!) Eugene: I’m sure you will look great Ellenor!! I’m looking forward to it. I’ve been to these things in the past and you meet some wonderful people. Food is great and so is the music. And if you don’t meet anyone, at least you’ll have us to talk with and dance with. Right Jimmy? Jimmy: Right!! (he says with a smile) Rebecca: So Lindsay, do you know what you are wearing to this shing ding? Lindsay: Yes, I have something picked out. Lucy: Describe please!! Lindsay: It’s just a long red dress. Not a big deal. Rebecca: Red! Sounds fabulous. I’m going with basic black. Ellenor: Me too, Rebecca. Black is always safe and elegant. Lucy: I’m wearing purple. (everyone looks at her)…..Don’t worry, it’s not a hideous purple. It’s a dark purple, I’ll look decent and won’t cause anyone embarrassment. ( saying it kind of mad and annoyed) Lindsay: Helen is wearing black . I was thinking of black too, but I thought I should add some color. You know? Anyway, I was kind of hesitant about getting red, but I really liked the dress and Helen encouraged me to get it. Bobby hasn’t seen the dress, but I hope he likes it. Rebecca: I’m sure he will love it! Everyone left the office at 4 p.m, except for Lindsay. She was hoping that Bobby would call in and let her know at what time he was picking her up. She wanted to make sure to be completely ready by the time he got to her place. She hated for him to wait for her, while she finished getting dressed. Plus, she really wanted to surprise him and try to look as stunning as possible. She wanted him to fall in love with her, because she knew she was already deeply in love with him. She wanted to see it in his face when their eyes met. Those beautiful eyes she could never really get enough of……. (In the middle of her thoughts the phone rings) Lindsay: Hello Bobby: Hey Lindsay, I’m still in court and now I have to give my closing. The judge wants to keep the jury till at least 8 p.m., because it’s Friday and then she will let them go. Lindsay: okay, so what do you want to do? Do you still want to make it to the ball? Bobby: Well, I figure after closing arguments I’ll head home and get dressed. I’ll have them beep me if the jury comes back with a decision. If they don’t, I could be by your place at 8:30 or so. We’ll be a bit late since it starts at 7:30, but we’ll be fashionably late. Hope you are not mad. Lindsay: No, I’m not mad. I just feel bad that you have to work so late. Bobby: That’s sweet, but I’ll be okay. I’m really looking forward to this tonight. Lindsay: Me too. Lindsay headed home to get ready for the dance. She decided to wear her hair up, a style Bobby had not really seen but one that men in her life had always complimented her on. She liked wearing her hair up too, because it always made her feel sexy. She put some makeup on and finally, she put on the dress. The dress was strapless and had a straight cut to it. It had a band on top with some shiny red beads, but it wasn’t loud at all. It was pretty simple, but she loved it and it totally made her feel sexy. She couldn’t wait to see Bobby’s reaction to it. She realized that she never cared about what men she dated thought of the way she dressed until now. Bobby was different. He made her feel so wonderful and she wanted him to think that way of her. (In the middle of her thoughts of Bobby the phone rings.) Bobby: Hi Lindsay. I’m home and all dressed, but I just got beeped. Jury is back. I need to go to the courthouse. I’m thinking that you should go to the ball without me and I will meet you there. I should be there at 9 p.m.. Please don’t be mad. Lindsay: I’m not mad, maybe a little disappointed, but I’ll get over it as soon as I see you standing next to me at this ball. Okay? Bobby: okay, thank you. Lindsay: I’ll head out soon. I don’t want to miss Raymond’s presentation and speech. You know how much he loves to gives those speeches and I think at least one of us should be there. I’ll tell you all about it when you get there, just in case he starts asking you about it. (She laughed) Bobby: Thank you for being so understanding and being so wonderful.. Lindsay: (she smiles) Don’t sweet talk me. Go to the courthouse. I’ll see you soon. Bobby: Okay, bye. Lindsay: Bye. AT the ball Lindsay is standing by Ellenor, Rebecca, Jimmy, Eugene and Lucy. The men were wearing black tuxedos. Ellenor was wearing a beautiful black pant outfit that made her look wonderful. Rebecca was wearing a black dress with an A line and Lucy’s purple dress was just as nice. It really wasn’t hideous and she looked great. Everyone loved Lindsay’s dress and she certainly stood out within the party, where most women were wearing dark colors. Helen was sitting with a lawyer she had met a few minutes earlier. They were in a corner engaged in a nice conversation. Every time Lindsay looked over they were smiling or laughing. She knew Helen was doing some serious flirting! It was a quarter after 9 and Bobby was still not there. Lindsay kept looking at the entrance waiting for him to come by, but nothing. The music was playing and she wanted to get on that dance floor with him, especially for the slow songs. Lindsay decided to take a walk around the room and she noticed that Daniel Jacobs was there. Jacobs was an attorney she had gone against in various cases, but he was always very nice to work with. Never mean and always willing to listen. She approached him and he looked at her and his eyes just opened up. Daniel: Lindsay! How great to see you. How are you? Lindsay: I’m fine Daniel, how are you? I haven’t seen you in a good while. Daniel: I know. Actually, I went away for several months to California to work on this corporate case. I’m scheduled to go out there for two months in two weeks, so you won’t be seeing me again for a while. Lindsay: Corporate law!!?? Wow, that’s a switch. Daniel: Well, I’ve been interested in it for a long time and this case came up and I asked to work on it. It’s been great so far. So, enough about me. What’s going on with you? Lindsay: Nothing really. I’m waiting for someone so I thought I would walk around and see if I knew anyone. Are you here with anybody? Daniel: No, I’m not, but I’m looking for someone to dance with. Would you like to dance a song?? Lindsay: (feeling a little awkward, but unable to say no) Sure, one dance would be good. As Lindsay and Daniel walk to the dance floor a slow love song comes on. Embarrassed to pull away, Lindsay begins to dance with Daniel and all the time hoping that Bobby doesn’t walk in and see her. She knows that the night she had planned for them would be ruined if Bobby saw her dancing with this guy. As the song comes to a close, Lindsay quickly pulls away and thanks Daniel for the dance. As she heads to join the others she sees Bobby! Bobby is looking at her and can’t take his eyes off her. Lindsay gets very nervous, because she’s not sure whether Bobby saw her dancing with Daniel or whether this is the first time he has seen her. She walks toward him and gives him a big smile and big hug. Lindsay: Hey there, handsome! I’m so glad you are finally here. He looks at her for a very long time and then smiles and says: Bobby: You look so beautiful Lindsay! I was just looking at you and I just can’t keep my eyes off you. I guess I’m not the only one, since Jacobs can’t seem to take his eyes off you either. Lindsay: (Shocked and still not sure whether Bobby is mad) Are you mad that I was dancing with Daniel? I was just making conversation and he asked me to dance. It didn’t mean anything. Bobby: (taking her hand) I saw you dancing with him and I’ll be honest, I got a little annoyed. I was about to cut in, but I realized the song was about to finish and I saw that you weren’t comfortable. You even backed out of the dance before the song was completely finished. Anyway, since I’m here now, I figure I’ll let one person enjoy your company for a few minutes before I take you away from everyone. (A big smile comes on his face)Can I have this dance and the rest of the night, Ms. Dole? Lindsay: (looking straight in his eyes) Yes, Mr. Donnell, you may. (She gets closer to him and gives him a slow tender kiss. He then gives her a kiss and it turns more intense. They look at each other, smile, and head to the dance floor) To be continued………………………. Title: Lady in Red Part 2 Author: Rena (renaonpc@yahoo.com) All the characters belong to David E. Kelley and The Practice. Summary: It’s about Bobby and Lindsay and their relationship. Takes place a few months after they got together after being recreational. Enjoy. Lady in Red 2 Lindsay and Bobby headed to the dance floor where Ellenor and Jimmy and Rebecca and Eugene were strutting their stuff. Helen could still be seen in a corner talking to a handsome attorney she had been speaking with for more than an hour. Lindsay and Bobby could not keep their eyes off each other. And Lindsay could not wait for the next slow romantic song. That would be her excuse for holding Bobby in her arms for a while. He looked so good and they hadn’t been able to share an intimate moment at all since they got on the dance floor. Too many people around and she always felt funny showing too much affection toward Bobby in front of the partners. She didn’t even know how comfortable she would feel dancing a slow song with him, while everyone was there. But she knew Bobby and Bobby wouldn’t care. He would hold her tight and whisper sweet nothings in her ear that would just melt her away. Bobby kept thinking how beautiful Lindsay looked, but was a bit annoyed that Daniel Jacobs, the attorney Lindsay had been dancing with before, couldn’t keep his eyes off Lindsay either. A few times he was heading toward Lindsay, maybe to ask for another dance, and Bobby made sure to grab her hand or whisper something into Lindsay’s ear, anything that would give Daniel a sign that she was taken. Daniel always turned away when he did that, but Bobby was afraid before the end of the night Daniel would approach Lindsay and ask her for her number or God forbid, a date. !! He couldn’t blame Daniel because Lindsay looked fabulous and was the most beautiful woman in the room. He couldn’t wait until they could be alone. This ball was lasting too long. So of a sudden, Raymond Oz approached Bobby and Lindsay. Raymond: Bobby, can I speak to you for a few minutes in private? Bobby: Ah…sure. Is there anything wrong? Raymond: No, nothing wrong, I just needed to ask your advice on some matters. Lindsay, you don’t mind, do you? Lindsay: No, not at all. Bobby: (turning to Lindsay) I’ll be back in a few minutes. Lindsay: Okay, I’ll go back to the table. I need something to drink. Bobby: Okay, I’ll look for you. Bobby and Raymond walk out of the dance floor and Lindsay heads in the other direction to her table. As she is walking to the table, Daniel approaches her. Daniel: Hey Lindsay, I’m heading home, I have an early day tomorrow. But before I leave, I was wondering whether I could give you a call sometime. Maybe next time I come into town, we can have dinner. I would love to catch up. Lindsay: (taken aback, but flattered). Oh, I don’t know Daniel. I’m kind of seeing someone and I don’t think it’s appropriate for me to meet you. But thank you. Daniel: (obviously disappointed). Oh, okay. Well, here is my card and if you change your mind, maybe you can give me a call. (He smiles and walks away) Lindsay: Heads toward the table and sticks the card in her purse. She is glad Bobby didn’t see that exchange. She could tell that Bobby wasn’t thrilled about the way Daniel was looking at her during the night. But she had to admit that it was kind of nice to see him a bit jealous. He must have some feelings for her and that pleased her immensely. Bobby walked toward her and then sat beside her. Bobby: Raymond just wanted to talk to me about some trials he is working on. It was kind of weird, but nice to have him ask my advice on things. How are you? Lindsay: I’m fine. I’m really enjoying myself a lot. Thanks for the dances. Bobby: You are very welcome. When do you want to leave? Lindsay: You want to leave already? You are not having a good time? Bobby: No, I’m having a wonderful time, but I wouldn’t mind having you all to myself for the rest of the night away from here. Lindsay: (smiling). Well, Mr. Donnell that sounds enticing. Bobby: I thought you would feel that way. So, are you ready to leave this joint? Lindsay: Yes, just give me a moment. I need to tell Helen that I’m leaving. Bobby: Okay, I’ll wait for you here. Lindsay walks over to Helen, who is still talking to the handsome attorney. Lindsay: Hey, sorry to interrupt, but I’m leaving. Can I talk to you for a sec? Helen: Sure. Billy, hold on one second, I’ll be right back. Helen and Lindsay step away from the table. Lindsay: Things seem to be going REALLY well with you two. You haven’t left his sight all night! Helen: He’s cute, isn’t he? He’s nice and has brains to boot? Lindsay: Well, good, I’m glad you are having a good time. Helen: Me too, but don’t worry, I’m not taking him to the apartment. I don’t want to jump into something too fast. Lindsay: Okay, but I don’t think I’ll be sleeping in the apartment tonight. I’ll probably stay over Bobby’s. Helen: I told you that red dress was going to drive him nuts! Lindsay: I don’t think it’s driving him nuts, but we ARE having a good time. Helen: Good! Then I’ll see you tomorrow. Lindsay: Okay, keep having fun. Helen: Okay, I know you definitely will! (she then gives Lindsay a quick smile and hug and then heads back to her table). At Bobby’s apartment, Lindsay and Bobby are sitting in the living room. They have been drinking some wine. Bobby: I had a really wonderful time tonight, not only because they were honoring Raymond, but because I had you with me. You know you were the most stunning woman in that room. Everyone kept looking at you and I was so honored to have you as my date. Lindsay: (with a huge smile on her face) That’s really sweet Bobby. I hadn’t noticed, but I am extremely flattered by the compliment. (she leans over and kisses him lightly) Bobby: (with a big grin on his face) I haven’t said this to you before, but I want you to know that I’m also glad that you and I finally have an open relationship, where we don’t have to sneak around and hold back our feelings. And (a bit worried of how she is going to react with the next few words) know that……….I love you. Lindsay: (surprised by the words, but extremely happy to hear them). Really? Bobby: Yes, really. Do you love me? ( a bit worried about the answer) Lindsay: You know that I’ve had very strong feelings for you since we were being recreational. Now that we have started this relationship, I realize how deep my feelings have always been for you. I’ve never been happier and it’s because of you and my love for you. They begin to kiss tenderly and it slowly becomes more intense. Bobby takes a hold of Lindsay’s hand and leads her into his bedroom. Lindsay then starts unbuttoning Bobby’s shirt and Bobby in turn starts zipping down Lindsay’s red dress. The two head to bed where they spend hours exploring each other’s bodies and showing their love to each other in different ways. The end. Feedback appreciated.
