Title: Unseparable, part 7. Author: michal. hashavit@r... Author’s note: first read part 1-6 then, all you should know is that this really doesn’t have any specific plot. It’s basically what happened with B&L in the first six episodes of the second season. Enjoy!! Disclaimer: They’re not mine. They’re DEK’s. There are some transcripts in the whole story from the show and the main story line (of course) is also DEK’s. ******** “Jimmy, what’s wrong?” Rebecca saw a very annoyed Jimmy walking into the office, slamming the door. “Nothing.” He walked past to his desk. Rebecca looked at Lindsay, Eugene and Ellenor and they all decided to chip in to the struggle. “Ok, spill it or we’ll force it out of you.” Ellenor tried to scare him. “Promise you won’t laugh.” “We promise Jimmy.” Lindsay kindly tried to reassure him. “Swear.” He insisted. “Jimmy!” Eugene got pissed. “Dick Flud called me a big head… right in the courtroom in front of the judge.” They all burst in laughter. “Stop it!” e stood up. “You promised you wouldn’t laugh.” But they couldn’t. Jimmy just kept yelling, which immediately got Bobby out of his office. “What is going on here?!” they settled down a bit, still smiling. “Dick Flud called me a big head.” “Dick Flud’s a jerk.” “And right.” Rebecca added. “That’s mean Rebecca! Lindsay?” Jimmy turned in hope to her. “Well…” “Lindsay always tells the truth, she can’t lie to you Jimmy.” Bobby stood next to Lindsay and looked at her. “Right?” She smiled and whispered to Bobby “I’ll kill you later.” “I know you will, can’t wait.” He smiled back mischievously and she just smacked him on his chest. “Well Jimmy. I think Dick Flud’s wrong. And I’m sure Bec agrees with me.” “No way.” She saw his disappointment. “Sorry Jimmy, it’s just a certain size…” “It’s normal size!” They laughed again, Lindsay starting to feel a bit more comfortable with their new situation. She smiled sweetly at Bobby who was standing close to her as they all laughed. ‘Maybe I could live with it.’ She thought to herself. “Hey, what did I miss?” Helen walked inside. Bobby and Lindsay’s heads immediately turned to see reality patting on their shoulder, both of their smiles gradually fading away. “Jimmy has a big head.” Ellenor went back to her desk. “He won’t admit it.” Eugene sat down as well. “He’s in denial.” Rebecca concluded as she looked teasingly yet understandingly at Jimmy. Lindsay, who suddenly felt uncomfortable with Bobby’s closeness, quickly got back to her desk. “Sorry Jimmy.” Helen smiled gently. “You ready?” she asked Bobby. “Sure, just let me get my jacket.” “No problem. By the way, how was the meeting?” ”What meeting?” Rebecca asked. “Lindsay and Bobby had a meeting.” “No they didn’t.” “Sure they did. This morning. Down town, right?” Helen turned to Lindsay, who was too frightened to answer so just nodded. Bobby, completely aware of Lindsay’s incapability of lying to her friend, jumped in. “Yeah, Bec. I forgot to tell you. The Martin case. Lindsay helped me out. “But I thought that was yesterday.” “No, we rescheduled it.” “Tell me next time!” “Sure.” He went quickly to his office, to avoid further interrogation and get his jacket. “What’s up girl? You’ve got that book I asked you for?” Helen approached Lindsay’s desk. “Here you go.” “Thanks.” “I’m ready.” Bobby came back. “Let’s go.” “Bye Lindsay.” Helen followed Bobby. “Call me tonight, we’ll go shopping.” “Again?” she smiled. ”Sure…” “Bye Linds.” Bobby added before closing the door, giving her a long deep look and making her slightly uncomfortable in the process. “Bye.” She softly answered. What she meant to be a short unnoticeable glance became a very intense stare. Bobby’s blue eyes hurting her so much as it slipped away from her line of vision. ******* “So, what are we looking for?” Lindsay browsed the cloths in the store she and Helen had just stepped into. “Nothing really. Just trying to get you to spend some money.” “Helen.” “Come on Linds, loosen up a bit… oh my god!” “What?” she turned to Helen who was holding a classic black dress. “It’s beautiful.” “Beautiful? Are you mental? It’s amazing! It’ll be a crime against nature if you don’t try it.” “Oh…” Lindsay looked at the dress. “Give it to me.” “That’s my girl!” Lindsay walked inside the booth and began to change. Meanwhile, Helen waited for her outside the booth. “You know what?” “What?” “You can wear it for your date tonight.” “What date? I don’t have a date tonight.” “You don’t? Then who’s the new guy?” “What new guy?” “Come on Lindsay, I know there’s somebody. You have that natural blush in your cheeks.” “I do not.” Lindsay answered defensively as she felt her heart skip a few beats. She slipped into the dress and got out. “So, how does it look?” “Wow!” “Really?” “What can I say? It’s perfect on you.” Lindsay just stared at herself in the mirror as Helen fixed the back of the dress. “Easy to slip into, easy to slip out of…” “Helen…” She gave her a warning look through the mirror. “Don’t start.” “Fine, if you don’t want to tell me.” “There’s nothing to tell!” “Hey, I’m not saying anything. Don’t feel guilty to be happy.” “I don’t.” “Good, that’s all I’m asking for. Just have fun with the new guy. Even if you don’t want to tell me who he is.” She smiled thoughtfully. “And buy the dress! Now I’m gonna go and try on this skirt.” Lindsay gave up on all attempts to convince Helen of a lie. However, she couldn’t help but feel the truth deep in her heart. There was no new guy. It was the same guy all along. The same guy that had made her passionate and loving, yet distant. But Helen was right. There was something new… her new feeling that made her feel different. Her new emotions that were triggered by the same guy, who had been there all along, now confused her so much to the point she nearly regretted her latest decision. ******* Lindsay ran her fingers through Bobby’s bared chest, her head gently laid on his shoulder. Their legs entwined, their warm bodies pressed together… not wanting, nor being able to move away. She let her look drift away to the room. Their shoes, his tie and shirt, her blouse, her skirt and her braw thrown on the floor as a reminder of their hot passionate night… the warm breeze entering through the door to his office… 3am. She suddenly felt a tear surface in her eye, her body tingling all over. She tried to disentangle herself of his embrace and get dressed. But he held her so strongly, yet so softly. As she finally managed to get up, Bobby pulled her back to him… mumbling “don’t go” unconsciously. She really didn’t want to go. She wanted to stay in his gentle arms forever. But she knew she couldn’t. She had made it clear that it was their last time together. So she left… not before moving her lips to his for one last magic touch. ******* “Linds?!” Helen called out to Lindsay. “I’m here, I’m late, I know.” Yet Lindsay’s living room was empty. “Linds?” Helen circled the apartment and eventually found Lindsay in her bedroom. “Hey babe, what’s wrong?” “Nothing, why?” “We’re supposed to go to a movie. You’re in pj’s.” “Yeah…” she murmured bitterly. Sitting on the floor, holding a bottle of beer, which obviously failed in cheering her up. “So… you don’t want to go or what?” “Hmm…” she tried to talk, but her voice shook with tears. “Naa, I think I’ll pass.” “Ok.” Helen stared at her, concern in her eyes. “Lindsay,” she sat on the floor next to her. “Can you tell me what’s wrong?” “Nothing’s wrong Helen. I don’t want to talk about it.” “Why not?” “Cause I can’t, ok?” Her eyes were filled with tears that threatened to fall. “Babe, I can’t help you if you don’t tell me what happened.” She gently stroked her hair, tucking a loose strand of it behind her ear. “Is it that new guy?” “What?” she stared at blank space, letting her tears shed. “No no, it’s just…” “It’s just what?” “Nothing.” Lindsay brought her knees close to her chest and put her head in her hand. “Lindsay, I’m worried about you…” “Don’t be.” She whispered. “Nothing’s changed. I was just terribly wrong.” “Wrong about what?” “About us.” “Us? Who’s us?” Lindsay’s tears kept falling without any intention to stop. “I thought we would be with each other forever… “ She cried and cried while Helen hugged her tight, not really knowing what else to do. Lindsay just kept crying and mumbling “I thought we were unseparable… I really did… but I was wrong… I was terribly wrong… I thought we were unsperabale…” THE END. ******* so sad... but true. we keep writing those fanfics, guessing what happened between the two. But the most amazing thing is that something really did happen and it was probably better than we think. (let's not get too deep cause ultimately it is TV) anyway, that was my version. the reason I didn't write Bobby's feelings is because even today when I watch my tapes from the 6 episodes I followed, I still can't read him. I really really hope you enjoyed my story. If you did, tell me. Cause I've got a new short story that can just form a smile on your lips. or at least I hope... love, michal.
