Title: "meant to be" part 1 Author: Michal hashavit@research.haifa.ac.il Author's Note: this is set after the second season finale. It's about how Bobby and Lindsay resumed a relationship. I would love to hear your opinion. I've read all the fanfic so I "know" all you talented writers. By the way, I don't think I could ever be sick of the Bobby and Lindsay fanfic, it's amazing... Disclaimer: these amazing characters aren't mine, they're DEK's... --------------------------------------------------------------------- Lindsay sat on her chair concentrating on a case she was working on. She really didn't want to do it, but nobody else wanted to take it of her hands. 'It starts in a week and I'm completely unprepared' she thought to herself. Suddenly, she heard Bobby yelling: "Lindsay, I need you." At first she didn't understand. She looked at Rebecca "You heard him, he needs you!" Rebecca smiled. Lindsay pushed her chair gently behind her and went to Bobby's office. "What's up?" Lindsay walked in and leaned on the armchair with Bobby in front of her. He seemed totally swamped. "I need you for the Jones case, it starts tomorrow, it has all this constitutional stuff you're so good at..." Bobby kept on looking for something under nit hall the paper work. "Tomorrow, you're kidding me?" Lindsay replied. Bobby stopped what ever he was doing and looked at her with his blue eyes she just couldn't resist. "Please, will you second chair?... I can't do this without you..." Lindsay softened up a little but remembered "Oh, wait, I've got trial a week from now" "Forget it, I'll give it to Ellenor." She felt surprised. "Fine, if it's that urgent" a little glad she got reed of her case for a more interesting one. Actually that wasn't the only reason she was glad. She and Bobby were a great team and since they broke off their relationship and started the partnership they didn't have any cases together. Bobby smiled at her then sighed. "What's wrong?" She looked at him. "I can't find the motion to suppress' documents..." she walked over to his desk and leaned to its other side, brushing into Bobby and pulled a pile of papers from under his elbow. "Is this what you're looking for?" she looked at him, smiling a little. Bobby took it from her hand "see? You're already helping me!" he smiled, as he leaned back on his chair he locked his eyes on her. There was silence. Lindsay's smile gradually faded, but not completely. "So, when do you want to start?" Lindsay awoke both of them from their locked gazes. "Hmm, I guess at about seven. I still have to break the news to Ellenor. We're going to be working pretty late any way" he went back to his straight position. When she realized how close she stood to him while leaning on his desk, Lindsay stood up to get out of the office. "See you back here at seven" she said. "Thanks, you're a life saver!" he yelled to her, feeling pretty relieved. Not only professionally, but personally too. He wasn't with Lindsay and since she told him she loved him they hadn't relate to the subject. But something in her eyes, her smile, couldn't let him forget her. And he didn't want to either... --------------------------------------------------------------------- It was 10pm. Bobby sat next to Lindsay on the couch. Their jackets were off as they went over their opening arguments over and over again and only about half an hour ago they've started going threw the first testimony. They were really close but couldn't help it because of all the files on the couch. "Lindsay, I think we're ready, let's call it a night..." Bobby didn't look up from his file, Lindsay kept writing something "No way, Bobby... the victim's boyfriend is like their whole case, I have to be prepared" Bobby stopped what ever he was doing and put his hand on hers "Trust me, you're ready... you'll do great" he was so supportive, smiling at her, looking happy. "You think so, Bobby?" she looked concerned, but didn't take her eyes of his. "I know so, come on, you look like you need some sleep, I'll walk you to your car." Bobby got up and took his briefcase from his desk. "Yeah, I am a beat tired," Lindsay mumbled as she leaned to the side of the couch. When Bobby turned around, she was sound asleep already. He looked at her, only then realized how much he had missed her. 'But no' he thought to himself 'it's too complicated, I'd screw it up like last time' but he couldn't help it, she looked so sweet sleeping on his couch. He sat beside her, real close. She shifted to his side and leaned on his shoulder, still asleep. He thought about waking her up, but he didn't want to. He just covered them both with a blanket that lay next to him. He felt the warmness she gave him, the security, something he hadn't felt for a long time. He gently stroked her smooth hair, then her ivory face. Feeling complete, he drifted to sleep with his hand protectively rapped around her shoulder. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Morning time. Bobby awoke at about 8 am. He didn't move an inch. He wanted to stay in this position forever. He was leaning on the side of the couch and had his hand around Lindsay's waist. Gradually, Lindsay opened her eyes. When she realized where she was she pushed back to sit straight on the couch. "Oh, Bobby... I'm sorry, I must have fallen asleep" she looked a bit uncomfortable but still dazed. "I know, I didn't have the heart to wake you. You were so tired". He lied. He just wanted to be close to her in a way that won't confuse them both. "Thanks" said Lindsay. She simply smiled at him. And now when their looks met, nobody felt the need to break the silence. They were sitting on the couch facing each other, the blanket on their legs when Bobby moved his hand towards hers. Suddenly, the phone rang. Bobby felt disappointed but got up to answer the phone, as Lindsay got up and straightened her blouse. "The judge wants us there by 9:30" Bobby hung up the phone. "Ok, that gives us enough time to go home, shower and change." Lindsay started to collect her things. "So, I'll see you at the courthouse" she started walking out. "Yeah, I'll meet you there" Bobby answered, while he stood near his desk looking at her with this unreadable expression. Lindsay got into her car and started driving home. She thought it was really considered of Bobby to let her sleep on his couch. But she didn't understand why he was lying so close to her, practically hugging her. She felt the chemistry, it has always been there... but something was different --------------------------------------------------------------------- End part one so?! Tell me what you think... --------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: meant to be, part 2 Author: Michal hashavit@research.haifa.ac.il Author's Note: this is part 2, hope you like it!!! Disclaimer: see part 1 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Lindsay arrived at the courthouse at about 9:15. She got out of the elevator and went to the witness room where she scheduled to meet Bobby. He wasn't in yet so she sat on the chair and started going threw the file one last time. "Don't worry, you'll knock them dead" she heard Bobby's voice. He entered the room and smiled. "Coffee?" she smiled back. It wasn't tense like before. Now she just felt happy, not confused. "Sure, all I need now is a donut to have myself a complete breakfast." She took her cup and laughed. Then Bobby took one hand from his back and revealed two donuts. "Vanilla, right?" "You remembered..." she said sweetly and took her donut. "Come on, how could I forget?" he sat next to her. "We should get going in 5 minutes," he said, while drinking his coffee. "Yeah, I know... we better hurry" she took a bite of her donut and had a little vanilla cream on her upper lip. Bobby started laughing. "What?" she looked serious. Bobby just kept laughing "what?!" she sounded inpatient, started touching her face at all the wrong places. Bobby stopped laughing and leaned forward. He gently wiped the cream of her lip, but he smiled and looked at her. She smiled back. "You never could eat them like an adult" he kept on leaning in front of her. "oh, shut up..." she laughed and got up. "come on, we have to go" she took his hand and dragged him out. He felt so good to hold her, laugh with her, and as they got out towards the courtroom he started wondering if she still feels like she did two months ago. Everything seemed to be back to normal. Helen was history, she was just a friend, and Lindsay... Lindsay suddenly brought up all the feelings he tried to suppress after they broke it off. Were they really just two people who slept together? Or were they gradually falling in love without admitting it to their selves? --------------------------------------------------------------------- The doorbell rang in Lindsay's apartment. She and Bobby scheduled to work there. She opened the door. Bobby had no tie on and she was wearing jeans and a black sweeter. "hey, come in, we've got a long night ahead of us" she invited him in. They sat on her couch and started preparing for tomorrow. After about four hours, at about 11pm both of them started feeling tired. "I better get going, we want tomorrow to be as good as today... thanks to you..." he smiled, then started gathering all the papers. "And you...don't worry about it, tomorrow's a slam dunk. What we really have to worry about is next week... but we'll cross that bridge when we'll get to it" everything was now in place, and all Bobby had to do was leave. But he didn't. he looked at Lindsay and turned to sit in a way he was facing her. "so, want me to walk you out?" she asked. "no" he answered, very seriously. She didn't understand. She looked up to see him. He had this deep look like he has had this morning. The look that confused her so much. "Lindsay, can I be straight with you?" he asked her. "sure, you know you can..." she looked at him with curiosity, not sure where he was getting at. "this morning, and last night..." he stopped, tried to find the right words. "yeah?.." Lindsay asked with an understanding look, as she smiled a bit. "I just felt like... I don't know, like I was sorry that we were never more than..." "more than what, Bobby? We were never really a couple or anything, remember? No strings attached, we just slept together..." "we did?" he then took a slight pause. Lindsay lowered her face. "Lindsay..." he lifted her face with his finger. She looked at him. Her blue eyes shined to the night lamp. "are you telling me that this doesn't make you feel anything?" he leaned a bit. His lips softly touching hers. Not even a kiss. He backed a bit. Then, gazed into her eyes as he got closer and closer again. "You know it does, Bobby" she whispered and put her hand on his cheek. He slowly renewed the kiss, but this time he concentrated on her sweet lips, he opened his mouth and deepened the kiss, feeling so complete to be with her, finally making the right move. He gently stroked her hair as her hands reached to the back of his neck, their bodies were now pressed against each other and they slowly stopped kissing. They looked in each other's eyes "what took you so long?" she asked him, smiling a bit. "I guess I was scared" he kissed her shortly "of what?" she asked. Then he kissed her again "of how I really feel" he kissed her again and again... he took her hand and entwined his fingers in hers. With his other hand, he slowly reached to her sweeter and unbuttoned it. Then, stripped it of her shoulders. She did the same to him but did not stop kissing him. He pushed her back to the end of her couch, then started kissing her long neck. He picked her up, and started navigating his way to her bedroom "do you still remembered the way?" she asked teasingly. "I never forgot" he smiled at her. They entered her bedroom and he slowly laid her on the bed, as she pulled him on top of her. Bobby pushed Lindsay's hair out of her face and began kissing the side of her neck and behind her ear. She sighed "You know we're getting into something pretty complicated..." she kept kissing him. "no, it's not complicated, it doesn't have to be... because I'm happy...because..." he looked at her "because I love you" he was equally surprised as she was. "you do?" her smile gotten bigger and bigger. "I do" he leaned to kiss her when she put her finger on his lips. "I love you too Bobby" he kissed her tenderly. In between kisses she said "I love you so much..." they kissed passionately and rolled on the bed, they knew they weren't having sex, they were making love. Their lips meeting, their bodies pressing against each other, and their souls becoming one. --------------------------------------------------------------------- End part two please let me know what you think, I'll be checking my e-mail... --------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: meant to be, part 3 Author: Michal hashavit@research.haifa.ac.il Author's Note: I'm sorry for either of you who like Lucy, but in Israel the third season starts only on December, so I really don't know her much. Any way, I really enjoy writing my fanfic and I hope you do to... Disclaimer: see part 1. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Lindsay's alarm clock woke her and Bobby up. They were lying on her bed, Bobby behind her with his hands rapped around her waist. She turned of the alarm and slowly turned to face Bobby. She looked at him, he smiled, still a little dazed. Then opened his eyes and tucked her hair behind her ear. She looked so beautiful, so happy. "Good morning, sleep well last night?" he was still very close to her. One hand on her cheek, and the other supporting his head. "Yeah, almost too well" she answered. "Maybe I should sleep over every night?" he kissed her ever so slightly. "Maybe you should..." she kissed him again, then he rolled on top of her, passionately deepened the kiss. He moved towards her ear, her jaw line and her neck. Her hands were on the back of his neck as he lifted himself and gazed into her eyes. He began unbuttoning the pajama shirt she had on. "Bobby..." she smiled, really didn't want to stop " we have to be in court in an hour..." He kissed her softly and looked at his watch "Come on Linds, you're underestimating me," he kept unbuttoning her shirt, then, striped it off. "Fine Mrs. Donnell, if you think you can handle me..." she now rolled on top of him, lowering her kisses to his chest, then, covered them both with the blanket. --------------------------------------------------------------------- It was about 5pm when Bobby and Lindsay arrived at the office after a long day at court. Everybody was still in there but nobody suspected a thing. Suddenly, Lindsay realized they haven't rely talked about what they'll tell to the others. But they were so exhausted that they didn't care. Lindsay went to put her briefcase and coat on her chair, and then, Bobby took her hand towards his office without anybody to see. "So, how was it?" Rebecca asked when they were on the way to Bobby's office. "I think it went ok, now we just got to be ready for Monday. It's the big one," Bobby replied. "We have a meeting in five minutes..." "Yeah, I know..." he said "we'll be right there." Rebecca looked at them funny. Ever since what happened when they had the fight about the equity, Rebecca felt that there were some unfinished business between them. She turned back to her desk after Bobby and Lindsay entered his office, and she realized that she wasn't the only one who was looking at them. So were Jimmy, Eugene and Ellenor. They suspected something was up but they couldn't put their fingers on it. Meanwhile, Lindsay leaned on the side of Bobby's couch when he came in after talking to Rebecca. She wasn't looking at him. She was focusing on this file folder she was holding. Bobby closed the door, then looked at her. She looked so beautiful. He just kept standing in front of the door, gazing at her. She sensed he was looking at her so she looked up. she smiled, but he looked dead serious. She felt his eyes penetrating her soul. "What?!" she asked with this smile he couldn't resist. He moved quickly towards her and surprised her with the most intense passionate kiss she has ever experienced. She immediately responded and dropped her file to the floor and rapped her hands around his neck. He kissed her forcefully as his hands were holding around her waist...they fell down on his couch without realizing where they were. They completely forgot about the partners meeting. Bobby crawled on top of her and continued kissing her deeper and deeper. Suddenly the office door opened where all the partners were standing behind it. They were shocked. All they did was go to the conference room and on the way Rebecca opened the door to call Bobby and Lindsay. But they were too busy. They immediately sat up on the couch, straightening their cloths, looking somewhat guilty. "So, are you guys like a couple?" Ellenor asked. They didn't respond. They just looked at each other and smiled... --------------------------------------------------------------------- End part three part 4 will be posted around the weekend. I hope you like it... you're more then welcomed to e-mail me (thanks, Olivia for your great feedback!) --------------------------------------------------------------------- Title: meant to be, part 4 Author: Michal hashavit@research.haifa.ac.il Author's Note: this is the last part, hope you'll like it... Disclaimer: see part 1 --------------------------------------------------------------------- Bobby got up from his couch and gave Lindsay his hand as she got up too. "Well, are we going to get an answer or not?" Ellenor repeated. "Ok, yes, we're a couple. Are you happy?" Bobby said. The group smiled. "Yeah, we are" Ellenor kept smiling. "Well, actually we knew..." said Rebecca. "What?" Lindsay looked surprised as did Bobby. "How could you have known?" she asked. "Well, it was obvious that something was up." "We thought it was only a matter of time until you two will figure it out," Jimmy continued Rebecca's sentence. Bobby and Lindsay looked puzzled. "Yeah, and it's about time too," Eugene added when they turned to the conference room, and left the two alone. "So, I guess everybody knew what we were feeling besides us," Bobby turned to face Lindsay. She just smiled. "Come on, let's go. I don't want them thinking we are unprofessional" she said and took his hand with her. Before they entered the conference room she pulled him close and whispered "We'll finish what we've started tonight," she kissed him gently and as he leaned to kiss her again she pushed back and smiled. "Come on, we have to go," she opened the door to the conference room and they entered to start the meeting. --------------------------------------------------------------------- It was around 11pm when Bobby and Lindsay walked along Boston harbor. They were just walking and talking, enjoying themselves like a normal couple. And it felt great. It felt real. Suddenly Bobby stopped the conversation. "Wait a minute," he ran to the flowers stand and paid the lady who was standing there. Lindsay walked to him and leaned on the railing. He went back to her and handed her a perfect red rose. She smiled, then put her hand on his cheek and kissed him softly on the lips. "Thanks." "You're welcome, I just had an extra dollar..." he smiled, but with this loving look on his face. "Funny," she laughed. "Come here, I want to feel you with me," he put his hand on her waist and pulled her to him. They just stood together, hugging, looking at the sea. "I'm so glad to have you with me...I missed you so much lately," he told her, still looking at the clear reflection of the moon on the water. "Really? I didn't notice." "You didn't?" "No, I just felt like I was the only one missing you." "How could you?" "I don't know, I couldn't read what you were thinking...or feeling." "I don't think I even knew what I was feeling...I guess I was confused" he sighed. Tightening his embrace around her arms, as he was standing behind her, their bodies worming each other, protecting each other from the cold wind. "What do you mean, confused?" she asked. Looking slightly behind her to meet his eyes. He then turned her to face him as she leaned her back on the railing. Their hands holding each other. "I was afraid I'd screw it up like last time. I just couldn't deal with the fact that at some point it became a lot more than sex... and when I met Helen... I wanted you to tell me to stay with you... but you didn't." "Bobby," she said the only thing she could think about. Feeling a bit guilty. "Lindsay," he stopped whatever she was about to say. "I love you, I know that now. I'm sure of that more than I have ever been sure of anything," Bobby moved his hand up to caress her cheek wit the back of his hand, slowly and softly. Her eyes became filed with tears. She smiled at him. A tear flowing freely down her cheek. He gently wiped it off. "I love you too Bobby. I guess I was hurt, and until later on I couldn't admit my real feelings," she took a slight pause. Then, raised her hand towards the back of his neck... moved up to meet his lips. "I love you," she whispered. Then, created the incredible touch of their lips. He pressed his body so she was leaning on her back. Her hands entwined with his hair. Bobby felt so wonderful to hold on to her. Their kiss gradually got deeper and deeper. "You know, my apartment is 5 minutes from here," Bobby said in between kisses. "I know..." she smiled and toned down their kiss. Bobby took Lindsay's hand and kissed it. "Come on, let's go," never stopped smiling, she followed him. When they arrived at Bobby's apartment, he threw his coat on the couch, as did Lindsay. "So, you want something to drink?" he asked her while walking towards the kitchen. "Sure," she replied and sat on the edge of the couch. Then got up to go to the kitchen. Bobby just opened the refrigerator. "Bobby," he looked at her. "I changed my mind." "What?" he didn't understand. "I don't want anything to drink," she walked quickly towards him and kissed him with that fierce passion they felt all day. He immediately responded... quickly closing the refrigerator door and started walking out of the kitchen, sliding her cardigan off. Lindsay walked backwards, unbuttoning his shirt, opening his belt...they moved quickly to his bedroom and as Bobby pulled up Lindsay's shirt, he fell back on his back with Lindsay on top of him... giggling and kissing and undressing each other... --------------------------------------------------------------------- 3pm. Bobby laid in his bed with Lindsay's head on his chest. He couldn't sleep. His emotions were too overwhelming. So was his happiness. He stroked Lindsay's hair when she shifted her head a bit. "Hey, what are you doing up?" she looked at him with this loving tender. "Nothing. Just thinking," he kept stroking her hair but she was now in front of him, leaning one hand on the bed and with the other on his chest. "About what?" "About you... about how much I love you," her smile became wider and wider. "I love you too." "You know, my mother once told me that she believed that everybody has their soul mate in the world. Kind of a 'meant to be'. Some people are lucky to find it and some never do..." "And you?" she asked. He smiled, but very seriously said "I found that person." "You did?" "Yeah. I found you. And I'll never let you go," he stroked her hair. "I don't plan to go anywhere. I'm her with you. And I'll always be." He kept gazing at her, didn't say a thing. "You know what?" she said. "What?" "I like this idea...that's what we are. We're meant to be," she raised her lips to meet his. They kissed never ending kisses, right there, in the middle of the night, in Bobby's bed as almost if they knew they'd stay like this forever... THE END --------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok, that was fun! I'd love to read your thoughts... if anybody has ideas for a new fanfic I'll love to hear it... thanks! michal. ---------------------------------------------------------------------
