Title: Shake it up Author: may mayrarm@hotmail.com Summary: continues on from my other stories. Involves B&L and Helen too. Disclaimer: The characters used in this story are not my own nor do I claim them to be such. They belong to ABC and David E Kelley and I am not profiting from using them. Lindsay and Bobby hadn't spoken to each other since Bobby got Lindsay and Helen out of jail. At the offices of D,Y,D&F. No one is there except Bobby. Lindsay knocks quietly on Bobby's door and goes in. Bobby looks up and smiles and then quickly remembers that he's angry with Lindsay and the smile changes into an icy stare. Lindsay: For god sakes Bobby I know you're angry at me so you might as well just tell me why. Is it because I went away with Helen without talking to you about it? Or is it because you had to come and bail us out of jail? Bobby: You were arrested for prostitution, given your previous weekends with Helen what am I supposed to think? I go to this town in the middle of nowhere where my girlfriend fled without telling me to find that she's been arrested for PROSTITUTION. What am I supposed to think? Lindsay (starting to get really angry and starting to yell): What your saying is that you think I am a hooker, is that it? Some small town cop sees two women on the side of the road, thinks they are prostitutes and you believe him. You are supposed to think, hey I know Lindsay I know she's not a criminal this must be a mistake, but no you immediately assume that I must be guilty. You defend murderers and drug dealers everyday and you know most of them are liars but you give them the benefit of the doubt, you believe them. But with me, the woman you are supposedly in love with, you straight away believe the worst, you believe that I could be a hooker, what does that say about our relationship Bobby? Lindsay stares at Bobby waiting for a response, yet he says nothing. He is still trying to come to grips with what has been said. Lindsay convinced Bobby is not going to say anything storms out of his office only pausing to say: Well at least I know what you think of me now Robert Donnell. Bobby: Lindsay wait…..I'm sorry. But it is too late Lindsay is already gone. Helen and Lindsay's apartment. Lindsay: He thinks we could be prostitutes, he said he didn't know what to think. Helen: Well Linds we do have a nice apartment… Lindsay: Funny Helen. But don't you find it offensive, he thinks you're a hooker too you know. Could you stay with someone who thought you were capable of that? Helen: If I really thought Bobby believed we were hookers do you think I would be encouraging you to sort things out with him? Bobby lives a very structured life, he doesn't really adapt well to unexpected things if you know what I mean. He was a little shocked when you just up and left without talking to him about it and then to find us in jail, I think he was still reeling from the first thing. Lindsay: I can live him being upset about me leaving without talking to him but still it's a bit of a leap from that and calling us hookers. Helen: You don't believe he meant that any more then I do. He was just thrown, I know it's no excuse but still… Later that night at Helen and Lindsay's apartment. Helen answers the door and lets Bobby in. Helen: She's in her room, tonight's fee will be $500. Bobby has a horrified look on his face. Helen continues: I know that seems a lot but since our recent stint inside we decided that we had to increase fees to include bail money. Bobby: HELEN. Bobby knocks on Lindsay's door. Lindsay: I said I just want to be left alone Helen. Bobby: It's not Helen. I just wanted to talk to you for a moment. Just let me talk and then I'll leave if you want me to. Lindsay: Alright come in. Bobby: I'm sorry. I know you and Helen aren't prostitutes, I just, I don't know. I expect wild things from Helen, but not you, I was just totally blown away. When you called me I had no idea what I was going down there for, I, uh I'm so sorry Lindsay. I do love you and I know I was so wrong I guess I was still a little angry at you as well, I thought we were at a place were we'd talk to each other before we'd take off for a weekend, I'm so sorry. Lindsay: Apology accepted. I know that me taking off with Helen was a bit unexpected Bobby interrupts: Unexpected! Lindsay: Alright Bobby, you made your point. What I was going to say was that the reason I decided to go away with Helen in the first place was because I thought I needed to shake things up a bit, to get any sort of response out of you. Things seemed so boring, we were having a drought if you know what I mean. Bobby says teasingly: So you thought get arrested for prostitution was going to liven up our sex life? Lindsay: You know what I mean. Lindsay continues in a suggestive tone. Anyway Mr Donnell there's a couple of things I learnt in prison, would you care to find out what they are? Bobby: I thought you would never offer. That's it all is well in the lives of those Boston lawyers, for the time being anyway. Please, please send me feed back.
