But as Tracy says if you don’t like B&L you won’t like this! Disclaimer: If they sue me I’ll laugh until I cry. (I’m very poor… just joking!) &&&&&&&& Donnell & Associates “Bobby we’ve got to find someone to fill John’s place,” Eleanor Frutt said. “I know we do, thanks for the wake up call Eleanor,” Bobby Donnell said, “If you want a replacement so bad why don’t you hire someone.” “Well, Bobby, I would but it’s not my job & I don’t know anyone to hire,” she said very frustrated. “Then why do you think I do?” Bobby said in a loud tone. “Guys, why don’t you just quite down,” Jimmy Berluti said not knowing what he was getting into. “No-one invited you into this, Jimmy,” Eleanor said. “I work here, I’ll invite myself into any conversation I want,” Jimmy said very firmly. “Not if I have anything to do with it,” she said. “Is that a threat, Eleanor?” Jimmy said ready to stand his ground. “No, Jimmy, that’s a word to the wise,” Eleanor said. “Here we go,” Bobby said. Then all three of them started screaming at the top of their lungs at each other. They were just about to break every window in the building when Eugene Young walked in. He stood there & watched them for a moment trying to pick up bits & pieces of the out of control conversation. After a while he no longer cared. “Everyone just SHUT-UP!” Eugene said. Just then the phone rang & Rebecca Washington’s voice chimed in, “Donnell & Associates, how may I help you?” As Rebecca talked on the phone Jimmy began in a calm voice, “Bobby, do you know anyone who can refer us to a defense attorney?” ************************************************ “Helen Gamble, please,” Bobby said in his most professional tone. “Helen Gamble,” a voice came on the other line. “Helen, it’s me, Bobby…I was wondering if you could give me a referral for a defense attorney.” “Umm…let me think…oh yeah Lindsay Dole is a really good defense attorney. We’re roommates. Why do you need to know?” “John Hoffman just quit. He’s working for Fish & Cage now,” Bobby said feeling defeated, “Can you give me your friend’s cell phone number, I was hoping she could come in today.” “Sure, it’s 544 – 6872.” Helen said. “Thanks,” & with that Bobby hung up. ************************************************ Bobby made the call. “Lindsay Dole,” a woman said at the end of the line. Bobby had never heard anything like it; her voice was so sweet, so vibrant, and so alive. “Hello my name is Bobby Donnell. I’m with Donnell & Associates. I’ve been looking at your record, it looks like you’ve made a pretty good name for yourself.” “Why thank you. But I’m pretty sure you didn’t look at my record & call my cell phone number to compliment me. So what can I do for you Mr. Donnell?” Lindsay said getting down to the point. “Well you’re right. I was wondering if you would care to drop by my office. I’ve called to offer you a job Ms. Dole.” Bobby said trying to be as professional as he could & trying to hide his desperation for a colleague. “Where is your office located Mr. Donnell?” Lindsay said warming up to the idea. “242 Boston Avenue,” he said nearly jumping up & down. “Tell me the time & I’ll be there.” “Is 3:00 okay with you? That’s my lunch brake.” “3:00 is fine,” she said. ************************************************ I know it’s really short but feedback is great. Title: Somewhere Out There – Part 2 Author: Alexis luvmymae@aol.com Authors Note: This is my first fanfic so be nice. I LOVE feedback! Summary: Oh, there’s no telling where this’ll lead. But as Tracy always says if you don’t like B&L then you won’t like this. Disclaimer: If they sue me I’ll laugh until I cry! (I’m very poor…just joking!) ************************************************ Donnell & Associates Bobby’s Office Bobby sat in his office that day very uneasily. He didn’t know why. Maybe it’s because he hasn’t done a job interview in 2 years. Or maybe it’s because she sounded like an angel over the phone. A million things were running through his mind; ‘What if she doesn’t like me? What if she doesn’t like the others? What if the others don’t like her? Will she like the office?’ “What is wrong with you, Bobby?” he asked himself out loud in a barley audible voice. He looked over at the clock in his office. It read, ‘2:55.’ “Oh, shit!” he said out loud, this time it was very audible, “She’s going to be here in five minuets.” Rebecca opened his office door; “Bobby there’s a Lindsay Dole here to see you.” Bobby looked up in shock. ‘She’s early,’ he thought to himself. “Send her in Bec,” he said. ************************************************ Bobby’s Office She walked through the door. It was like he had died & gone to heaven. He thought he had just seen an angel. She was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. Everything about her; her hair, her eyes, those big blue eyes; the way she walked. Everything. “Hi, I’m Lindsay Dole,” she said in that angel like voice he heard over the phone, “and you must be Bobby Donnell.” “That’s me,” he said very sheepishly. ‘Did I say that?’ he thought to himself. “Please take a seat.” She sat down in the chair across from his desk. “I’ve heard a lot about your office.” “All good I hope,” he said. “Most,” she replied & looked down, “Well, all lawyers have their ups and downs.” “It doesn’t look like you’ve had many downs, Ms. Dole.” “Please, call me Lindsay. I’m not married either so you can drop the ‘Ms.’ thing.” “Oh, okay,” he said once again very uneasy, “So, let’s get started. Shall we?” “Yes,” she said becoming very uneasy herself. He was so handsome; his eyes, those big blue eyes; his voice was so sweet. “You graduated from Harvard with honors, impressive.” He began scanning the rest of her résumé & began once again, “I’ll have to discuss it with my colleagues & we’ll be in touch.” “Yes, we will,” she said smiling at him. He got up & held open his office door, “Bec will you show Lindsay out, please.” As soon as she walked out of his office he shut the door. Who was he kidding? He didn’t need to discuss anything with the others. She graduated from Harvard with honors. None of them had graduated from Harvard, let alone with honors. He didn’t want to seem too desperate, so he didn’t hire her right away. ‘Looking desperate is bad, especially when you’re as desperate as I am,’ he thought to himself. Even though he knew his colleagues would jump at the chance to hire her it was his duty to discuss it. ************************************************ Conference Room Team Meeting “She graduated from Harvard with honors?” Eleanor asked in a stunned state. “Yeah, I know,” Bobby replied with a smile on his face. “So she’s graduated from Harvard with honors & she’s from Cambridge,” Eugene said. “She knows Helen,” Bobby said. “Helen Gamble?” Jimmy asked. “Helen Gamble,” Bobby replied. “Wow, you’re luck to catch a glimpse of her she’s in and out of court every minuet,” Jimmy said still in shock. Then Eugene interrupted Jimmy’s state of shock; “Doesn’t everyone think we should hire her right away?” Eugene asked. Everyone nodded his or her head in agreement. “Yeah, but guys, we don’t want to look to desperate. I told her we’d consider her. I didn’t tell her we’d call her back 2 hours after she left. I suggest we let 1 day go by & call her.” Bobby said. “Bobby, we can’t wait that long. We need help in the Johnson trial,” Eleanor pointed out. “Eli we can’t give her a trial her first day here. That’s really desperate, and she probably wouldn’t appreciate it,” Eugene said. “I’m with Eugene,” Jimmy said. “So am I,” Bobby said. “I can’t believe this!” Eleanor said out loud. “All right, let’s just calm down & take a breath for a minuet,” Jimmy suggested. Eleanor ignored him, “Why wouldn’t she appreciate it? She’s going to be making money even if we loose,” Eleanor said. “She wouldn’t have enough time to study the case, Eleanor. Even if she did closing arguments are tomorrow & I know you won’t let her do the closing,” Eugene said. “Fine. You win,” Eleanor said. “Okay, then I’ll contact her tomorrow,” Bobby said. ************************************************ Donnell & Associates The next day “Hello?” Helen said across the line. “Helen, hey!” Bobby said. “Hey what’s up?” Helen asked. “Nothing new. Listen I called to talk to Lindsay,” he said. “Oh, okay…just a moment,” she said. There were a little more than tree minuets of silence then, “Hello?” it was Lindsay. “Hey, Lindsay, it’s Bobby Donnell from---“ he was cut off by the sound of her voice. “Donnell and Associates,” she finished his sentence for him. “Yeah, right, anyway, I was wondering if you could meet me at the Crossing Café,” he said. Lindsay hesitated, “Sure.” Bobby smiled & said, “Great! Is now okay for you?” “Yeah that’s fine,” she replied. ************************************************ Crossing Café So there he was, with a table for two waiting for Lindsay. He was constantly watching the door for any sign of her. Then here she was. She stood there looking for him. He could’ve watched her forever, but he had to get down to business. He signaled her over, she smiled. Every time she smiled it gave him chills. “Hi,” he said & stood up to get her chair. “Thank you,” she said. Bobby smiled, “So what’s up?” “Well, nothing much other than the fact that you got the job!” he said. “Oh, my god, thank you so much!” Lindsay said with glee in her voice. “Don’t thank just me. Thank the rest of my colleagues when you start work tomorrow.” “Tomorrow? This is great! Thank you again!” she said. Bobby just looked at her, deep into her beautiful eyes. Her smile faded & she looked at him returning the gaze. She felt him looking at her. It was as if he was looking strait through her soul. But their soul searching was quickly cut off by someone’s voice, “What can I get you two tonight?” They immediately looked up at her. “Nothing for me thanks,” Lindsay replied with a smile. “Me either,” Bobby said. “Let me know if you need anything, the name’s Donna,” she said. Bobby leaned in, “Tell me something, Lindsay. Do you believe in love at first sight?” Those seven words went through Lindsay’s mind like a tornado with no place to go. That’s what it felt like too. She hesitated, “I believe that somewhere out there there’s a right person for everyone. That’s why people are here on earth, to love someone, to be happy with someone, to share their sorrows with someone, to hold someone, and everything in between,” she replied & leaned closer to the table. “Do you think you’ve met that someone Lindsay?” he asked. She could feel him breathe, but their faces were 15 inches apart. “I might have. Maybe it’s not time for that someone to come into my life. Maybe it is. Maybe that person isn’t in my life yet. There are so many answers to that question. I’ll know one day,” she replied, her breathing heavy. ************************************************ Will they ever kiss? Or will they be in lust forever? We’ll know soon enough! I LOVE feedback! Title: Somewhere Out There - Part 3 Author: Alexis------New screen-name - sportzqueen14@aol.com Summery: Oh there's no telling where this'll lead! But as Tracy always says IF YOU DON'T LIKE B&L THEN YOU WON'T THIS! Author's Note: This is my first fanfic so be nice. I LOVE FEEDBACK! Disclaimer: Please don't sue me, I'm very, very, poor! (Just joking!) !@#$%^&*()!_+-=!@#$%^&*()_+-= Lindsay's Apartment 10:00 p.m. "Boy, I've got a big day tomorrow," she thought to herself as she watching 'ER'. All though it was a really good episode her mind was elsewhere. It was on Bobby. "Did she really just have a conversation on love with him?" she thought, "Did he really just hit on her? Did she really hit on him?" Just the thought of him made her knees go weak. But she could never have a relationship with her boss. Everyone would think she was like sleeping herself to the top or something like that. She would never here the end of it from Helen; the jokes she made of everyone's love life were nowhere near funny in Lindsay's eyes. Then again she had only known the man for 3 days. They were in no position to begin a relationship at this point in time. At least that's what she thought. She wished she knew how Bobby felt. ************************************************ Bobby's Apartment 10:30 p.m. Bobby, like all the other men in the world, was watching 'Sports Center' on ESPN. But his mind was elsewhere. It was in Lindsay. "She is so beautiful, so easy to talk to, so understanding, people like that are hard to come across," he thought to himself. It was as if she was sent from God to him. He prayed that they had a future together. He knew they had just met, but there was just something different about her. If they didn't have a future together he hoped they could be friends. He wondered if she hoped for the same. He wished he knew how Lindsay felt. ************************************************ D & Associates One Month Later "Lindsay, in my office," Bobby ordered. She slowly pushed out her chair & rose to follow him with a bewildered look on her face. "What's up?" she asked casually, but concern could be heard in her voice. Bobby paced back & forth in front of his desk. "Do…do you remember the day before you started, I called you up and told you to meet the Crossing Café?" he asked. "Yeah, why?" "Did you like…um…feel a connection…between us?" he asked. "Excuse me? Why is this all the sudden coming up?" she asked in shock. "I…I…care for you…I can't get you off of my mind. You're the reason I look forward to coming to work every morning. I care for. I understand if you don't feel-" he was cut off in mid sentence by passionate kiss from Lindsay. At that moment they were the only two people on earth. Buildings could've exploded, bombs could've gone off, shots could've been fired, and nothing could make them separate. Her lips against his felt so good, so right. Finally, Lindsay pulled back with a small smile on her face. Bobby, well, Bobby's breathing was heavy. "I care for you too," she said with a smile still on her face. "You…," Bobby was still breathing heavy, "You should get back to work." "Yeah, I should get back to work," she said. She headed for the door. Her hand was on the door knob when Bobby asked hopefully, "Lindsay, would you like to have dinner with me tonight?" Just then the biggest smile formed Lindsay's face that Bobby had ever seen, "I'd love to." Relief went through Bobby's body when he heard those three words. Then she left his office. They both couldn't wait for tonight to arrive. ************************************************ I know, I know a really short ending, but it's my first a probably last fanfic. Thanks to everyone who sent feedback.
