Things Remembered From My Childhood...

You are Probably wondering why I came up with a page quite like this.. No It's not about sappy memories or painful childhood memories but rather this page is about things I remember from my childhood growing up a child of the 80's..Perhaps more of a Nostalgia page..Yeah That's it! My nostalgia page. I was sitting in bed one morning and I thought to myself.. "The Internet has everything on anything ever on it and has the answers to all." Next thing I thought.. As it entered my mind.."What ever happened to the things I faintly remember as MUSCLE Men?" Next i thought to myself "Whatever happened to those wierd gross cards I used to collect..The Garbage Pail Kids!?" Next thing I knew i was online searching for these long lost memories and low and behold I found what I needed! So here is the results of what was found and remembered..Here goes....

M.U.S.C.L.E. MEN (Millions Of Unusually Small Creatures Lurking Everywhere)
MUSCLE Men were these wierd little
plastic figures that came out by Mattel in the 80's. They were about an inch and a half tall. Most of them were peach but a lot of them were other colors (blue, orange, puple, red, green, etc). Anyhow I used to relish collecting these along time ago.. I used to remember the joy of would feel as I would race into a Toy store or a H-E-B.(Local Texas Supermarket Chain) They would come in many packs of four, 10 (In a plastic garbage can, My favorite!) Twenty Eight pack, Other products included the Board game and the Wrestling ring among other products. They came in a huge variety of shapes and styles, Many pretty bizzare and unique to say the least! I even remember the time i lost my favorite MUSCLE Man at a restraunt.. How sad was i was. But i was later able to replace him with a similar looking one. Later on I would still collect them even though they had been discontinued bit i found many others scattered all over in Thrift Stores or numerous Garage Stores inwhich i hit the jackpot finding 26 at one sale! I still collect them from time to time.. Now they are a rare collectible..Here are some pictures of the MUSCLE Men along with some pictures of their packaging...

The Garbage Pail Kids

The Garbage Pail kids were these gross little cards which were a pretty funny (Or Disgusting) parody of the Cabbage Patch Kids craze of the 80's that swept over nationwide and overseas.. At school many kids would collect and trade them. How I myself got into these cards I cannot say but i faintly remember having a small collection of these one of a kind cards until my Mom threw them out! LOL!! Anyway I still have memories of these wacky cards. The cards were pulled off the market after the makers of Cabbage Patch Kids threatened to sue..Two of the creators went on to create "The Meanie Babies" Created by John Pound of Garbage Pail Kids fame and written by Jay Lynch of GPK and Wacky Packages.. (I smells yet another lawsuit..Go figure!) Below are four cool samples of the GPK Cards.. Yeah I know there is only four.. But they were too many to choose from..
