Miserable, part 2

When they came too, Mimi and Tai were walking. They were fully clothed and dry. "That's funny Tai. I don't remember getting dressed."
"Me too. We must really be tired!"
Sora collapsed. She couldn't run anymore. She just started to cry. Matt stopped.
"Sora, don't cry."
"How can I not cry? I just saw Tai, you know the guy I love, kissing my best friend!"
"How do you think I feel? I love Mimi. I just saw her kissing my formerly best friend too!"
"How could she do that to me? She knew I loved him, but she still went after Tai!" she cried even more.
"I guess it wasn't meant to be." she looked at him. "Maybe this is fates way of telling us, we weren't supposed to be together." he looked up at the sky. He felt as if his heart had been ripped out, and trampled on. "Maybe this is supposed to bring us together." he knew this wasn't true, but at the moment, it seemed like the right thing to say.
While Mimi and Tai were walking, they heard voices. "It's Matt and Sora." said Mimi. "I wonder what their doing up this late."
They walked up to where Matt and Sora was sitting. Tai and Mimi saw Matt lean in and kiss Sora. Mimi's eyes swelled with tears.
"Sora...how could you..." Sora and Matt's heads jerked up. "How could you..." She ran off.
Matt jumped up. He felt like he owed her an explanation. "Mimi wait..." he started.
"Don't!" Tai barked. "Don't even try. If I catch you attempting to talk to her, or you go within 10 feet of her, I swear, I beat you to a bloody pulp!" he said. "I can't believe you'd sink so low, as kissing Sora, when you knew I liked her." he turned and looked at Sora with disgust. "And you. People like you sicken me. How could you kiss him, knowing that your best friend was in love with him."
"We could as you the same question! How the hell could you make out with Mimi, knowing I loved her?" yelled Matt.
"I made out with Mimi, so we could get back to this place! It's not the same thing!" shouted Tai in defense.
"You lying son of a bitch! You two were going at it like rabbits a few minutes ago!"
"Now who lying? I never kissed Mimi!"
"Don't you deny it! We saw you with our own eyes!" said Sora.
"Well then I guess you have to get your eyes checked! Mimi wait!" finished Tai. He ran after her.
"I can't believe that bastard was denying it! We saw him!" shouted Matt. Knowing Tai would go through with his threat; he and Sora walked back to the others.
"Mimi, wait up." Tai was running after Mimi. He finally caught up to her. She ran surprisingly fast, for a girl in 6 inch heels. He grabbed her hand and pulled her close. She cried on his shirt. Her whole body went limp. The only way Tai could support her, was too lower her to the ground.
"Why? Why are they doing this Tai?" she whimpered.
"I don't know Mimi. I don't know." he kissed the top of her head, and just let her cry.
When Tai woke up, he had a sharp pain in his neck. His head had been resting in a very uncomfortable position all night. It smelled like he had been sleeping on a field of lavender. 'I hate the smell of lavender.' he thought as he got up. Mimi was still resting, so he let her sleep. 'What a night she had!' Tai watched her sleep. So peaceful. 'She looks so beautiful!' he wanted to reach out and touch her cheek. 'I can't do that to her.' he thought. 'Not after what happened last night. She lost her best friend and the man she loved. Hell, so did I.' he kept his gaze fixed on her. She finally shifted and her eyes opened.
"Please tell me last night was a nightmare." she said.
Tai shook his head. "No. It wasn't a dream."
Mimi looked as if she was in pain. "Damn them. Damn them both." she started to cry again.
"Don't cry Mimi. He didn't deserve you. You're too amazing, for a loser like him."
"I hate them."she said. "I hate them both." her voice was like ice. It made Tai shiver.
"You don't mean that. You couldn't mean that." said Tai.
"For once, I actually mean what I say. I hate her for what she did to me, and I hate him for what he did to you."
"No Mimi. You care about everyone, no matter what they do to you. I know you. We've been friends way to long." he stated.
"I don't care about anything now." she clarified.
"Not even about me?" asked a hurt Tai.
"Only you." she said before bursting into tears. He stroked her hair.
"Don't cry. It'll be okay. I'm here." said a reassuring Tai. He picked her up, and guided her back to the camp.
"Hey, where's Tai and Mimi?" asked TK "They were here last night!"
"Probably making out somewhere." said Sora under her breath. Only Matt caught it.
"We're here TK!" called out Tai. His arm was around Mimi's waist. She had stopped crying, but here eyes were blood shot.
"What happened to you two?" asked Joe.
"It's a long story." said Tai, throwing an evil glance at Matt. He shook his head. He sat Mimi down. She stared blankly at the ground. He walked over to Matt. "Remember what I said. If you try to talk to her, TK will be an only child." he whispered.
"You don't tell me what to do! If I want to talk to Mimi, I'll talk to Mimi." he whispered back.
"What makes you think she wants to talk to you? She hates your guts!" retorted Tai.
"You know, why am I defending myself? You two started it!"
"Don't go giving me the - we were making out in the lake story, because we all know it's a load of bull. That's only your lame cover up story." With that, Tai walked away. He sat near Mimi. She looked up, and smiled at him. Matt noticed her crest was a deep shade of grey. With that he looked at his own crest. It was black.
"Oh man! Guys look at this!" he pulled off his crest and handed it to Izzy. "Look at Mimi's. It's grey." he looked at everyone else's crests. Izzy fine. Joe fine. TK fine. Tai fine. Sora black. "Sora's is also black!"
Sora looked at her crest. She took it off, and examined it closer. The little symbol was completely hidden, by the black background. "What does this mean?" she asked.
Izzy was busy looking at the crest's. "Hey Mimi, toss me yours." she took off her crest and threw it to Izzy. "How bizarre!" he stated. "Matt and Sora's are black, while Mimi's is grey. Maybe Gennai could clarify the situation." he opened his laptop, and pushed in a couple of keys. The screen lit up as Gennai appeared.
"Well hello there! I'm so glad you could make it."
"Listen Gennai. Something really weird is happening here. Matt and Sora's crests have gone completely black, while Mimi's is grey. What's going on?"
"It's rather simple if you think about it. Matt probably lost a friend. Since he has the crest of friendship, it would turn black. As for Mimi's she probably doesn't care anymore, but she still cares about something. That's why her crest is grey."
"Is there anyway we, can fix them?" asked TK
"Yes. They, and only they, have to solve what bothering them. Once they face their problem, their crests will return to normal. Now. Onto the busyness, of the new evil here. They call themselves the Dark Masters. Piedmon and Puppetmon. Izzy, I have downloaded their profiles into your Digimon analyzer. I would suggest that you fix the problem of the crests first. Goodbye." with that he disappeared.
"Okay. So does anyone want to tell us what's happening?" asked Joe.
"No!" they all replied. Mimi spoke. "Tai's the one that's keeping my crest from turning black."
Everyone turned and looked at her. "Remember when we were talking earlier. I said I cared only about you." Tai nodded his head.
"I remember. How could I forget?" he said. He hugged her.
"Okay. We have one of the crests figured out. I think. It's really confusing when we don't know what's going on." said Izzy.
"We have to deal with it." said Matt. "Gennai said we have to fix the situation."
"How about we split up? You guys fix the crests and we'll try to find out how to defeat the Dark Masters. We'll meet up at sunset. Deal?" said TK
"Sunset it is." said Tai. He helped Mimi to her feet and they walked away. Matt and Sora followed.
A little while later, they found a good place to talk. Tai and Mimi stood on one side, and Sora and Matt on the other.
"Who should go first?" asked Sora. They all stood in silence. Then they all started yelling.
"Mimi and I didn't make out at the lake!"
"Stop lying Tai. Matt and I saw you two..."
"I knew there was something going on between you two. You told me you liked Sora! I thought you were my friend..."
Mimi couldn't take it anymore. "SHUT THE HELL UP!" she yelled. "WE HAVE NO CLUE WHAT YOU TWO ARE TALKING ABOUT! STOP..." she was cut off because she started to float. "AH!" she screamed.
"Mimi!" cried out Tai and Matt.
"Hey look at this!" said Izzy. "The Dark Masters are some very tough Digimon. Piedmon can change his form to anything he pleases, and Puppetmon can control anything with his strings! We'd better be careful. These aren't your ordinary Digimon." said Izzy.
"What's happening to me?" cried Mimi. She was suspended in the air.
"Pathetic Digidestined! We were expecting brave warriors, not weak teenagers." said a mysterious voice. Suddenly, Mimi dropped. Matt ran over and caught her, before she hit the ground.
"Who are you?" demanded Sora.
"We are the Dark Masters. I am Piedmon. This is Puppetmon." the 2 Digimon appeared. The Digidestined looked on in horror. Piedmon floated to the ground. "You truly are pathetic. You let your emotion control you."
"What do you mean?" asked Mimi. Piedmon walked up to her. With every step, he began to change. First his clothes, then hair, body, and finally, his face. "Tai..." she started.
"Yeah. It's me Mimi. He reached up to touch her face. Matt stepped in front of him.
"Don't touch her." he threatened.
"Well really Matt, why don't you hit me like last time." he smiled. Matt's face went white.
"It was you... not Tai."
"Very good! Give the boy a gold star!" he laughed.
"Don't forget about me." said Puppetmon. "I was surprised at how long it took me to dominate your bodies. Remember the lake." he said smiling at Sora. "I also took control of your bodies. That's why you couldn't move."
"You sick twisted..." she began.
"Ah, ah, ah. If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." replied a smug Puppetmon.
"You were the ones that made us turn on our friends." said Tai.
"Yes. Now if you don't mind, we'd like your crests. Oh, and... you." he said pointing at Mimi. "We could use a girl like you." (Part of my next story!)
"You'll have to get through me first!" exclaimed Matt.
"I was really hoping that it wouldn't resort to violence, but if you insist." said Piedmon. This huge ball of energy formed in his hands. He aimed right fir Matt.
"No!" screamed Mimi. She pushed him out of the way. He hit the ground with a thud. She screamed when the energy hit her in the stomach.
(*now this is the part where it's supposed to go in super slow motion. *)
Mimi fell backwards. Her hair was flying everywhere. She hit the ground. Her arms sprung up, as she hit the earth. She lye motionless.
(*now it goes back to normal motion*)
"Mimi!" screamed Matt. He jumped up and ran to her side. He grabbed her hand. "Mimi, wake up. Please wake up." he eyes were swelling with tears. "Wake up..." he sobbed. One of his tears hit her crest. The grey disappeared. It glowed green again.
"Damn. Oh well. One down. Six to go. Until next time Digidestined." with that, they disappeared.
Matt was looking at Mimi. She was turning blue. "She's dying! We gotta get her some help!" called out Matt. Horrible memories of the cave in, flooded back to him. He almost lost Mimi that day. He couldn't go through it again. "Tai, Sora, we have to do something." with that his crest turned blue.
"What can we do Matt? We don't have any doctors around here. We don't have any medicine. We have nothing!" said Sora.
"This is all my fault." he said. "If I hadn't been so jealous, Mimi would be okay." he paused and wiped away tears. "Why did she push me out of the way?"
"Because she loved you." said Tai. "She was crushed when she saw you too kissing."
"How do you think we felt? We thought you two were dating. Hell, maybe even sleeping together! We had no clue Puppetmon was controlling you. It looked so real!" said Matt.
"I could never date or sleep with Mimi. She's like my sister" said Tai. "I care about her way too much to do anything like that to her." he managed a laugh, but it sounded like a chock.
"I swear I'll get them for this." vowed Matt. "I'll get them and make them pay. Nobody kills the girl I love and gets away with it." he fell on Mimi, and started to cry. Sora's crest started to glow. A pink orb of light, came out of the crest and surrounded Mimi. Then, an orb of blue light appeared from Matt, and an orange one from Tai. They all combined and floated down on Mimi. A warm aura appeared around her. She open her eyes.
"What happened? I'm so cold." she begun to shiver. Matt picked her up, and held her close.
"Quick, get some blankets. She's like ice." he pulled her closer. Sora and Tai ran off to get some blankets. "Don't worry Mimi. I won't let anything happen to you." he whispered in her ear.
"Matt... what are you doing?"
"Keeping you warm."
"I mean why... don't you hate me..."
Matt was shocked. It hurt him knowing she thought he hated her. "Mimi, I could never hate you. I love you."
"You love me..."
He smiled "Yeah. I love you." With that he bent down and kissed her. She kissed back. She took her arms and wrapped them around his neck. Once the kiss broke off, Matt looked at Mimi. "Wow. That was... that was, beyond words."
"I know what you mean." She kissed him again. This time she bit his upper lip. He melted.
'Even though he was an evil Digimon, he sure did tell the truth!' thought Matt. Mimi, pulled away. He grabbed her face, and kissed it passionately. He didn't want them to stop. He wanted to stay like this forever. Just then a familiar voice entered his mind. 'Friendships will break, and love will die.' Now he understood what was going on. They were put to a test. A test to see if they were strong enough to last without the ones they cared about. Matt thought he failed big time, but he didn't care. In the end, he got what he wanted. Mimi.
