As we know, psychics are those that can read other people's minds, predict the future, etc. Through tapping into the pool of the collective consciousness, psychics can feel and sense what others have put into it. They can communicate with dead spirits, and find any almost information through commincating with the unconsciousness that connects all living things.
Shamans are those that 'connect' to the other world, they train their minds to have direct communication with the collective consciousness (they probably call it something else; but same difference).
Ever notice how young children seem so bright and smart? And as they get older they get dumber? Well, when the mind is young, more of it is used, as you get older, the parts not trained to be used become non-functional. The part the connects to the collective consciousness isn't known by many people, so kids aren't taught to use it and they lose that ability. If poeple understood the CC, they would be able to raise people to use it all their lives.
In most near death experiences, the patient describes a lighted tunnel, guiding them to people they've known in their lives that had died. This can be explained through the collective consciousness theory, as when you die, your soul goes back into the pool, with everyone else who dies and relives. Each sould isn't necessarily reborn as it's whole. But pieces of each soul are put together in each new living being.. so to speak, because everyone can tap back in and learn about everything that has ever lived.
A phenomenom that many people witness, is the formation or presence of a dead soul coming back to contact them. Through the collective consciousness, this can be explained by people contacting the other world through their minds. When they channel a soul in the pool, they can actually experience what they think is real. The actual formation of a spirit could be from the pool, showing itself in our reality. I don't know if this is possible, because I cannot explain their existance without a body.
