Uni Style Life

`~'

Adding to the quantum that study all the greats

Rushing early mornings trying not to be late

Stepping through the process of learning for the world

Memories of the lectures and exams yet untold

`~'

Passing each new phase to begin to learn the next

Keeping knowledge in our minds from all the written text

Living terms of structured class for outcome of efforts

Looking forward to the times of holiday resorts

Uni-cafe and uni-bar to while away the hours

Concert room, social drinks, cover from sudden showers

Open area with seats and grass for in the midday sun

We talk and chat about our course of uni-style fun

Thanks for letting me express some things that I see

More important is our difference and you letting me be me

So I can learn of my degree, the path that I walk

So I can learn how to do the knowledge that I talk.

`~'

`~'

Past and Fore

`~'

Sitting here trying to absorb inside my mind

How so many generations have become kind

I know that this is because of three wars

The first, the second and the last of course

`~'

Most only think that the world has had two

Though historians know that this isn't true

When Jesus stood with his elected men

The twelve of his tribes to speak roman

`~'

The books of the library, the bible is free

So people who grow can easily see

That even in history of world's people's mistakes

We can learn to overcome and begin to retake

`~'

All that was ours the whole garden we shared

When all of us knew how life was to care

The world is that garden that we should know

Like the farmers that feed us, that we reap that we sow

`~'

Then welcome to earth our garden of life

Live carefully with her for she is God's Wife

To know all about her environmental change

That has passed through history of Generational range.

`~'

`~'

Sewing fine threads of hope

`~'

Living and loving the way that we should

The good Lord permitting, if only we could

The way his son taught us with love that he spread

Rather than living as in rome, with threats overhead

`~'

As things were then they sold teaching to the quick

Though if you learned slower they said you were sick

It's sad how we were taught by those who didn't know

And sadder how we are sought when they get to a low

`~'

The answers we've given them over again

As if there is no learning from living in pain

Maybe they'll see when they're blinded by fright

That the peace is within us, our own inner light.

`~'

Breakfast

`~'

Early in the morning as we wake to see the dawn

All the peoples that we know start the day with a yawn

`~'

Opening their eyes and stretching their arms

They open the curtains as the sun slowly warms

`~'

The cool skin of earth and water pools too

The clouds begin to lift to show subtle dew

`~'

On grasses and leaves of the flora about

As the first of the animals begin to come out

`~'

To drink of the moisture left on the ground

And to gather the manna that lays all around

`~'

`~'

No more hurtin

`~'

We watched as they mistreated you

There was not much we could do

We had to turn our eyes away

To pray we could forget that day

`~'

All your fault she heard them call

Till eventually she became small

Trying so hard to walk in life tall

Hearin the hurtin names come from them all

`~'

If I had to watch you walk away again

I don't know if I could contain the pain

I would have to let go with both barrels

Of best wine to drown my sorrows

`~'

So few and far in between

Give her a break and recheck the scene

Telling her and asking to ignore the mean

That give out the verbal, without it serene

`~'

We felt the pain several times

Watching the young turn to crimes

Wondered if they'd forgive them

As they took up tools to work again

`~'

For way too long they carried the pain

With guilt upon them to drive their membrane

Pushin away from lives of no gains

They carry too much when they don't pass the names

`~'

I'd like to stay beside you everywhere you are

To be your strength when yours subsides

Hold you when you shiver, thank you when you care

Calm you when you rage, and caress you as you cry.

`~'

Town Visit

`~'

a man from the land workin herd each day

raisin cattle by hand and threshin the hay

livin the farm style while so many of city

livin of fair mile and able of pity

`~'

enough to help heal from differing way

a change in good meal with rest and a stay

a couple of harsh seasons as the land went dry

when the need of reasons grew hard to get by

`~'

so he went to the bank to approve a withdrawal

the tellers stepped back at the Kelly revival

`~'

heart beats all racing while outside all calm

all eyes on the ranger as he opened his palm

on it he'd wrote with his electric pen

a brief stating note, what he needed and when

`~'

those that were near him saw in his eyes

the note he had wrote was not much but lies

they then knew his meaning as they counted inside

showing peace to the ceiling while two tellers cried

`~'

he moved along steady to each counter he went

the tellers not ready to what it was that he meant

`~'

after each teller giving from within their cash draw

they could see from his living he took risks for the poor

as he strode to the doorway security was there

touching his piece and looking with stare

`~'

security stood up straight and said "what's your aim"

"new machinery, new gate , to keep growing grain"

"Still even though, it's not right what you did"

He replied "when the grains grow you can put in a bid"

`~'

"The tools that we need are dearer than grain"

"we all eat of cede and for that we need rain"

`~'

"that's something we can't buy, we ask with prayer"

"when enough people try, the rains they are there"

security heard this and moved with intent

performing his duties as his work meant

`~'

the tellers then said all in one chord

the note we had misread let him have his afford

security changed mind stood aside let him pass

ranger thanked of their kind and pushed open the glass

`~'

He thanked them for working the way that they do

Then went for his engine to pay them there due.

`~'

Mountain Man

`~'

Out of the mountain he came down

To see the people of the town

Travellin for a good few days

Bringin with him some brumby strays

`~'

traded them in for a hunk of change

all of them healthy no site of mange

local farmers in town over night

welcoming fresh stock, a beaut site

`~'

Left them at thew smithy's yard

Loaded his packs with flour and lard

A few more things to keep him healthy

A stay in the hotel feeling wealthy

`~'

who knows what's in towns folk's mind

because a few of them were a bit unkind

too long he guessed without things to do

so their next best thing was to blue

`~'

unhappy with their choice of life

they'd go around drunk making strife

and when it's time for them to pay

out of their mouths lies and hearsay

`~'

local law knows what they're like

tells them to go home and take ya bike

things settle down as he gets more drink

then up to his room to wash off the stink

`~'

The following day after resting well

And feeling better from washing off smell

He strode through town to see the trade

And where abouts each shop laid

`~'

noting in his mind north from south

smelling the bakers watering his mouth

stopped at the grocers for a warm drink

somewhere to sit for a long think

`~'

Racers and Pacers

`~'

Whoan, Goan! Whoan thar gurl

Whuppin up the wind thru her ears

Smiling a little, a glean in her eyes

She lowers her head and picks up her strides

`~'

off o'er the creek and off like a streak

along the track till it's back was tarmac

on round the bend and up to the end

till the turn her feet start to burn

`~'

I pull on her spot she's shown em she's got

We carry on thru till the last post is true

Holdin our tide and our shoulders inside

We huddle and hunch then we punch

`~'

away we go as the ground does sow

footprints half inch deep

fairly firm on the final longs

and my gurl looks back for me

`~'

I show her my eye and that I'm by her side

As we burst out for the last of the lengths

Our hearts beat as one thump thumpety thump

And we peak at the post where our energy is most.

`~'

Mums and Dads

`~'

A love that we have within us

A care for the children we bear

Taken by women who were jealous

Without type of love they could share

`~'

many years of love between lovers

of feeling and showing eachother

all types of sisters and brothers

though some not so knowin their mother

`~'

she left just as I was starting

I'm glad In a way that she did

I found within me through parting

A history that had been hid

`~'

there was also the life that I lived

whilst I wasn't at home with our child

where I changed that I had to believe

to become much more gentle and mild

`~'

as a bloke that age quick to temper

I found that my foe was no longer

And from then I aimed to remember

Between jealousy and love, love is stronger.

Walking along

`~'

we travelled far to getaway, a place somewhere to stay

for moments of serenity to pray and laughter's happiness in play

they came and saw we grew till that they knew we too

knowing enough so we could do that they thought we should to

live our lives as they did, for receiving as given bid

and all our histories hid behind an open can bin lid.

`~'

Thank-You

`~'

An embrace a touch of a friends face

Lost and found amongst a histories race

Closer to goals than gaols

By the chains of those met with sails

`~'

behind them from an ages waste

coming to chase them at haste

beside they stand a comforting hand

while we apply the glue of fabric and

`~'

learn a history told of the many, who's bold

hearted message travelled lands of the sold

brought and bought back to be of care for their share

that was given before and taken by snare

`~'

Peace at last on all of the lands

Brought by the inactions of mans hands

Nothing can that comes from our pasts

Alter the course of every man's Masts
