My
name is Ryan Lynn Bradley, and I am 19 years old. I started drawing
anime and manga in 1998, from some of my favorite Sailor Moon art
book images.
I was raised in church, but didn't accept Christ until 1999, on
a summer mission trip to Cordoba in Veracruz, Mexico, with my church
out of Dunedin, Florida. My faith didn't surface in my artwork until
early 2000, when I was finally able to accept the fact that I had
waited so long to accept Christ, and came to grips with my anger
at myself.
My
first attempt at a Christian manga was called Naomi OBT. While Naomi
never left the ground, it ultimately led to and became intertwined
with a second series called Mouseflies.
My
goal with the Mouseflies series is to bring Christian anime and
manga fans (mainly teens) a breath of fresh air from the scantily
clad superheroes of modern Japanese art. From the girls of Neo Ranga-who
fight with loosely-fluttering ribbons clinging to their bodies solely
by the force of the wind, to the cute, middle-school-aged girls
of Sailor Moon-the Moon Princess herself spends the entire 200th
episode completely nude. Wholesome Japanese-style entertainment
is hard to find these days. I want to do something about that. To
