Any Amendment to these rules must be approved by the next Annual General Meeting of the Company following the temporary amendment.

The Council of Management shall have the authority to expel a Member whose conduct is conceded to be injurious to the Company, but before taking such action must enquire into the members conduct. The Member must be given reasonable opportunity of defending himself in writing or appearing before the Council. Any member or Bailiff of the company on production of there permit/warrant may demand to examine the right to fish documents of any person found fishing in Company owned or rented waters. A person not able to produce documentary evidence of there right to fish may be asked to leave the water at once. The Company shall be entitled to deem that person a trespasser.

Permits to fish the waters controlled by the Company must be purchased in advanced and are not transferable.

The payment of a subscription to fish in Company controlled waters shall be deemed a contract to abide by the Rules of the Company as in force at that time.

All persons intending to fish must be in possession of a current license issued by the Environment Agency.

Junior are aged between 7 to 17 and Members reaching 17 years of age shall become Adult Members, and may have there permit exchanged, at no cost for that season by application to the Treasurer enclosing a SAE.

Contravention of any of the following rules may result in a Council of Management hearing which could remove the Members rite to fish for whatever period the Council of Management may decide.

  1. Any person intending to fish a swim must clear all litter in the immediate area before fishing and any person found fishing at  a spot containing litter shall be held responsible for the same.

  2. Junior Members are not allowed to fish during the period from one hour after sunset to one hour before sunrise , unless accompanied by an adult. Juniors are not allowed to fish at Dunware Ponds during these hours.

  3. Junior Members are only permitted to fish the Huntspill River, South Drain, North Drain, Dunware Large Pond or Screech Owl Ponds if accompanied by an adult, who shall be responsible in the event of any accident or emergency involving the Junior Member, and for his/her behavior on the bank.

  4. The Adult responsible for the Joni our in Rules 2 and 3 must be within 30 meters of that junior at all times.

  5. Fishing is not allowed during the annual close season from March 15th to June 15th, both days are inclusive.

  6. The close season for pike fishing with dead bait on Company Waters is March 15th to September 30th, both dates inclusive. The use of artificial lure is permitted, during the period June 16th to March 14th, both dates inclusive except the Docks and Canal which do not have a closed season. provided that all lures are fitted with barbles hooks (see rule 41, 42).

  7. The use of treble hooks is only permitted when fishing for Pike or Perch.

  8. With the exception of Pike, Carp and trout all fish may be retained in a keep net during the period of fishing and returned to the water prior to leaving the bank, except during a Bona Fide Competition when all fish except trout may be kept. Carp must not be kept in a carp sack.   8a.  The use of Carp Sacks is prohibited on any Company controlled water.

  9. No fish must be removed permanently from any water unless there is risk of disease from that fish. Fish must not be transferred from one water to a different water.

  10. The possessions of Gaffs is prohibited.

  11. Members must not fish from swims reserved for a competition.

  12. Dogs are not permitted with Members at the waterside, if that member is fishing or engaged on Association business such as bailiff or a work party.

  13. Members are not allowed to use guns near or over the water or on any surrounding land without the consent of the land owner.

  14. The possession of person carrying boats is forbidden on all Company controlled waters.

  15. Bathing is forbidden on all Company controlled waters.

  16. Members must not and must make all reasonable endeavors to prevent others from damaging any hedge, fence, crop or other property near the water nor trespass on land not controlled by the Company.

  17. Camping or lighting of fires on any land controlled by the Company is not permitted.

  18. All gates must be closed immediately they have been used and the animals must be prevented from straying.

  19. Members must not gain access to the water by breaking down hedges or fences

  20. Coaches, cars or motorcycles must not be parked on Environmental Agency property except in the car parks provided, nor in any manner likely to cause inconvenience to other road users or land occupiers

  21. Fishing is not permitted within 30 meters in any direction of overhead power cables.

  22. Fishing is only allowed by fair rod and line.

  23. A maximum of 4 rods are permitted on the purchase of 2 B.A.A.Ltd Permits(2 rods per permit) as per Environmental Agency Rod Rule.

  24. Members are not allowed to fish from any property not owned or least by the Company.

  25. Members are requested not to fish directly outside any residence along the towpath of the Bridgwater and Taunton Canal. Fishing is only permitted on the towpath side of the Canal. Fishing is not permitted within 25 meters of the approach to a lock, moveable bridge, from landing stages or dock pontoons.

  26. Any member or group of members MUST NOT obstruct any other swim than the one they are fishing.

  27. Fishing on King Sedgemoor Drain, Huntspill River, Cripps River, North Drain, South Drain, !8ft Rhine, Bridgwater and Taunton Canal and Screech Owl Ponds is restricted to the period one hour before sunrise to one hour after sunset.

  28. The use of chest waders on any water is forbidden.

  29. No swim is to be constructed without prior written approval of the Council of Management nt.

  30. There must be no pre baiting of swims prior to June 16th.

  31. No keep net is to be used which is less than 8ft long or with a diameter less than 18 inches.

  32. Bait colored with aniline dye is prohibited,

  33. Angler are not permitted on the banks of Walrow Ponds between the hours 10.30 pm and 5.30 am unless having purchased a night fishing permit.

  34. No Member is permitted to take a motor vehicle over the level crossing at Screech Owl Ponds known as Meads Crossing.

  35. No angler is to leave his rod unattended with a baited hook in the water at any time.

  36. No angler is permitted to take tins or glass of any type onto the bank of any Company controlled water.

  37. No fishing is allowed within 20ft of the rear boundary fences of the properties on the north bank of Combwich Lakes between 1 hour after sunset to 1 hour before sunrise.

  38. The use of Bloodworm and Joker as a bait or ground bait is not permitted on any Company controlled waters.

  40. The use of live fish as hook baits is prohibited on all Company controlled waters

  41. All anglers fishing for carp and pike on Company Waters must use line of not less than 10lbs B>; must be in the possession of an unhooking mat; and must be in possession of a landing net of not less than 36 inch arm length for a triangular net; or an equivalent size round net.

  42. All anglers fishing for pike on Company Waters must use a wire race of not less than 8 inches in length, and in the position of a pair of forceps of not less than 8 inches length (see Rule 6).
