The site was steeply sloping which led to a single storey split level design solution. The constraints of a site surrounded by existing housing meant that the scheme and its associated playing fields fitted tightly on the site.
Materials were generally hand made facing brickwork inside and out, with an Eternit slate roof, all supported on a glue-laminated structural timber frame. The project was featured in the Architect's Journal. |
