Welcome To TOM PREMO'S
COUNTY CONNECTION (CCCTA)
"UNOFFICIAL" WEBSITE
The CCCTA website was accessed to obtain information concerning County Connection Rates and Timetables. However, this information is NOT AVAILABLE on the CCCTA website. I first went to the TOP of the CCCTA website, "Get FlashPlayer" which is a Macromedia website about Shockwave and Flash Players but it required that I download a program; "FlashPlayer" has nothing to do with CCCTA transit activities! I then went to the TOP of the CCCTA website "Click Here" for more information and found what I was looking for. County Connection transit information should be available to riders when they first access the CCCTA webpage.
The CCCTA Fare increase of 50%+ (Cash: $.50 to $.75 - Punch Card: $.30 to $.50) per ride is much to high for us on a fixed income. Supposedly, one of the CCCTA services that was to benefit from the fare increase was that more and timely buses would be put into place.
However, I experienced just the opposite yesterday, Friday 10/4/02, on the bus#115 route when the CCCTA buses that I had planned to ride were removed from service and were not replaced. I tried to take the bus#115 which was scheduled to depart Treat and Oak Grove at 10:01AM but it failed to show up, so I waited an hour for the next bus which left at 10:59AM. In the afternoon the bus #115 also failed to depart from the Walnut Creek Bart station at 6:15PM, so I waited for the next 115 bus that departed at 6:45PM. I understand that the early morning bus #115 was disabled and was removed from service.
I was advised by Barbara Ray in the Walnut Creek Transportation Center on Friday 8/30/02 (12:00 noon), that Senior Citizen 40-Ride Punch Cards were not available for sale, effective two days ago. The "Official" CCCTA Website does not mention that CCCTA is suspending the sale of Punch Cards that utilize the rates prior to the CCCTA Fare Increase on September 8, 2002. Senior citizens and others living on a fixed income are particularly affected by the CCCTA Fare increase of 50% (from $.50 to $.75) per ride. This is much to high compared with SSI and other benefits which are based on the cost of living.
The TOM Premo Family lives on Crescent Drive in
Walnut Creek, CA with our dogs, "Goldie" (1986-2000), "Taco" and "Mimi" and attended the

TOM Premo and his family are World Travelers and he got the idea for this WebSite after standing in the Walnut Creek Gazebo
and realizing that he had stood in the Gazebo in Salzburg, Austria which
was in the movie, "Sound of Music". His daughter, Jackie, had gone to school in Salzberg while he was with Bechtel on the Riyadh International Airport (KKIA).
