The Dubliners

From:Puls no. 14/1994
By: Håkon Moslet
"Sentrum Scene", Oslo, Norway
April 9th 1994
It's so great with a band like the Dubliners. They can't disappoint their audiences - and in this country (Norway) the audience is huge. They played several concerts during the Olympic Games, they played in Oslo last year, the year before and the year before. But the people keep showing up. For as stated earlier, the Dubliners can not disappoint you. The party is guaranteed with the five Irish folkmusicians on stage. There are not many other whitebearded 60 year-olds you can say that about. And considering the very young audience, 750, who danced around at "Sentrum" Friday. The feet were tapping to the music from the very first tune. Next song the dancing was starting. It only became more and more lively as the traditional tunes and songs came out of the acoustic guitars, banjos, mandolins and so on. Shortly after midnight, the performance's climax; a brilliant banjo-solo, and the immortal troica The Irish Rover, Whiskey in the Jar, The Wild Rover. Not bad, to put it that way.

The Dubliners

From: VLT July 19th 1996

Further along
(Transatlantic/ Musikservice)
