Contract

Here are the main topics outlined in the contract agreement between parents and provider. This is a condensed version of actual agreement.

Hours of Operation - Calendar
The daycare is open from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm weekdays. Please respect contracted hours for your child, if more is needed then I have the right to charge extra. TLC Home Childcare is open year round except for the following: 2 weeks in summer (paid) as well as all Statutory Holidays (also paid). I may also close between Christmas and the New Year (not paid).

Commencing Care
In order for me to hold a spot for your child at TLC Home Childcare, parents must sign all forms and contracts. Pay a holding fee equivalent to two weeks care which will cover the first and last weeks of care for your child. A trial period of two weeks is given after care begins. I also encourage a slow intergration period for your child if possible.

Trial Period
Each child enrolled at TLC Childcare is entitled to an adjustment period of two full weeks. This will enable both parent and provider with the opportunity to determine if placement is satisfactory and meets the needs of both child and of parents. At any time during this period either party is permitted to break free from contract and two weeks notice of departure is not required. (However, please note that deposit for last week of care will not be reimbursed as I have held this spot open for your child.)

Payment of Fees
Fees are to be paid prior to care, on time and in full on scheduled day as arranged and agreed upon in contract. Cash payments: If using cash, I appreciate if you can please have exact change as I may not have proper change on hand.
Late payments are subject to a $5/day charge (including weekends). Note: I have the right to refuse any child(ren) to attend TLC Childcare if fees are not paid previous to care.
Overtime fee: There is a $2/ 5min fee for any child arriving earlier or leaving later than my operating hours. (However, to be fair, I provide a 10 min, E.S.T., grace period) I may waive this fee if prior arrangements have been made and we have agreed upon an extended-day fee (if needed).
NSF Cheques: Any N.S.F. cheques will be subject to a $25 fee plus late day fee of $5/day for every day late due to this.
Receipts: I will issue receipts as per our agreement in our signed contract.

Childcare Fees
To be discussed with provider, feel free to e-mail me for further information.

Absence from Care
Absent days: If for any reason your child cannot be present at daycare please call to notify me of your child's absence.
Tardiness: I appreciate a call to inform me if you are running late either at drop off or pick-up time.
Summer & Holidays: I will give two month's notice for my paid holidays. (Usually lasting 2 weeks in mid-summer). During this period the daycare will close. If I choose to take any other holidays throughout the year, I will inform you well in advance and will not require payment for further vacation time other than my 2-week paid holidays.
Provider absence: I may request a few days off throughout the year for personal days. If I must close the daycare due to illness or for any emergency then you will be responsible for having back-up care until I am well enough or able to re-open facilities. You will not be charged daycare fees for days that I am unavailable to provide care.
Statutory holidays: TLC Childcare will be closed on every federally recognized statutory holiday, however, I still expect to be paid full fees for these days if your child is normally scheduled to attend that day. Stat holidays I am closed are: New Year's Day, Good Friday, Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic holiday, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
Due to child's illness: Please call me if your child will not be attending due to illness.

Duration Of Contract
The contract betwen parent/provider will be up for review when changes occur such as the number of children you have in care, hours/days need to be modified...

I reserve the right to terminate care without notice for the following reasons (but may not be limited to these):
Failure of parent to pay fees.
 Failure to complete required forms.
 Lack of parental cooperation.
Failure of child to adapt to centre after a reasonable amount of time.
My inability to meet the child's needs without additional staff.
Behavioural or disciplinary misconduct that has not improved after several attemps to curb continuous disruptive, distructive and/or dangerous behaviour.
