We all knew Stoppers is never going to be such a big a challenge, but it was important to win this one with authority, coming from an agonizing loss against Falcons. Vijay won the toss yet again and elected to bat. Stalin and Bhaskar opened.

TITANS Innings

TITANS didn't exactly have a dream start. Bhaskar tried to loft one over long off fielder, but couldn't beat him. He was out on a Duck, Score 4 for 1 in second over. Abhay promoted up the order tried to consolidate the innings. He misread one ball and played too early, popped an easy catch for mid-off fielder. Score 8 for 2 in 4 overs. Stalin was clean bowled in the next over and Krishna soon followed played a slower ball too early and bowler caught in the follow thru. TITANS were in deep trouble. Score 14 for 4 in 6 overs. After that Vijay and Saurav yet again produced a partnership of substance. No rush to hit boundaries, No aggression, just sweet simple singles. Bowler came and went but couldn't break the partnership. Vijay got a life early in his innings, but he was steady after that. The partnership lasted for 10 overs and yielded 46 runs. Saurav finally got bowled on a yorker in the 16th over. Score 60 for 5. Srinivas had another tiny partnership with Vijay and added 14 runs before he gave a simple catch to "his neighbor" Shishir at square leg. Sreeraj didn't last much longer and was bowled without adding anything to the score. Naveen's unfortunate runout brought the 8th wicket down at 75 in the 20th over. Bhuvan was adjudged LBW in next over when score was 85. Vinay joined Vijay for the last wicket. He tried to get out couple of times hitting in the fielder's hands, but they declined to oblige. Finally, Vijay tried to slog one but was beaten. TITANS thus ending at 89, 28 of which coming from the captain's bat. Bhaskar, Krishna, Naveen and Sreeraj getting out on duck, which otherwise could have been a big score.

Stoppers Innings

Stoppers had a dream start. Hitting Krishna for boundary is not one of the everyday thing. Stoppers scored 6 runs in the first over. Bhaskar on the other hand bowled beautifully and stranded the batsmen at one end. Krishna followed through with another maiden over and Bhaskar carried on with one more. Stoppers were still 6 after 4 overs. Krishna in his 5th over clean bowled the batsman at 8. Bhuvan replaced Krishna and got Kedar caught by Abhay at mid-on. Two deliveries later Raghav was cleaned bowled to a ball he will never understand. Score 13 for 3. Naveen took over from the other end. He was hit for a four in the very first over. He came back in his next over and Ashok trying to pull gave Sreeraj a simple catch behind the wicket. He got rid of Stopper's captain soon when Vijay took a low catch. Bhaskar and Krishna soon were brought back. Krishna got the first break through when Saurav juggled before completing the catch at point. Vinay took his first catch of the season off Bhaskar running in from the square leg boundary. Score 33 for 7. Abhay and Vinay came for attack. Abhay getting rid of Kaushik in his very first over and removing dangerman Subir in his next caught by Saurav. Bhuvan plumbed the last batsman Rao to wrap up the innings at 54.

TITANS finally registering a convincing win. Vijay and Saurav yet again providing the crucial partnership which TITANS would need for all the upcoming games. From here there is only one place to go... UP. And TITANS has it all to reach there.
