As they walked along, arm in arm, Nickolas asked, �Do you remember what happened a year ago on this beach?�
�How can I forget?� Valondra asked. �You sang to me and I fell in love.�
�Is that what happened? I could�ve sworn it was the other way around.� He smiled.
�No, Nick, I can�t sing so you sang to me.�
�I wouldn�t say you can�t sing, Princess, I mean I hear ya when you�re in the shower and it�s pretty good.� She grinned and looked at him. �But�you could work on those high notes a little bit.�
�Jerk.� She stopped walking and dropped him on the ground. He laid there and she got on top of him. He smiled and she kissed him.
�I did fall in love with you that night, right?� He smiled.
�I hope so, because you�re here with me right now. Plus what was this past year?� He smiled and kissed her again. He rolled them over so he was on top and they made out for a few minutes. Nickolas stopped the kissing and smiled. �What?�
�Remember this spot right here?�
She looked around and said, �Not that I recall. Why?�
�You seriously don�t remember this spot?�
�No, sorry.�
�Maybe if you look closely you will.� She looked again and smiled when she saw the moonlight picnic. �Now do you remember?�
�Yeah.� She looked at him smiling. �This is the place where we had our first date.�
�And the place where I fell so in love for the first time in my life.� She continued smiling and he kissed her. �Remember what we ate?�
�Pizza, strawberries, and sparkling cider.� He nodded.
�Exactly.�
�How did you remember the exact spot? Even I didn�t remember where it was.�
�Easy. Do you see those rocks over there?�
�Yeah.�
�Well, do you remember hearing the ocean splash up against them when I brought you here?�
�Yeah.�
�Well we were, like, fifty feet away from them.�
�I probably don�t remember, because I was admiring you the whole night.�
�And I was admiring you. So why do I remember?�
�It couldn�t possibly be because you�re the one who picked it out.�
�I guess you�re right.� He kissed her and got up pulling her with him. He put his arms around her and kissed her again. �Maybe after tonight you will remember it�forever.�
�And what do you think is going to happen tonight on this beach exactly?�
�I can think of a few things.� He kissed her neck and she sighed delightedly. �Remember back in Georgia when you asked what was going on in my head.� He continued kissing her neck. �Well if ya want I can show you tonight.�
�Holy shit, Carter, you�re being a horny pervert these past few days. Well weeks I should say.�
�Only for you.� He kissed her passionately before she could protest. After the kiss Valondra just looked at him and he smiled. �Are you hungry? I know I am.� She just looked at him and he pulled her over to the picnic. They both sat down and Nickolas took a bottle from the basket. �We�re moving up in the world tonight, Princess. This is the world�s best French Champagne according to Howie D.� She smiled and he poured her a glass then poured himself a glass. �A toast.�
�To what?�
�Us and the past fourteen months we shared and all the bullshit we endured along the way.�
�It was pretty amazing.�
�Yes it was.� They both smiled. �And here�s to another fourteen months together; fourteen happy months that is.�
�And it will be.� They continued smiling and took a drink of their champagne. �Mmm, this stuff is good. Where�d ya get it?�
�Howie.� She nodded. �I asked him where I could get a bottle of good champagne and he gave me a bottle of his.�
�The boy�s got taste.�
�I got the best taste though.� He smiled and kissed her. �So I was thinking we could start with desert first if ya know what I mean. If ya don�t mind of course.� She looked at him, as he smiled and buried his face in her neck.
Valondra pushed him away and said, �You can�t even say anything without it being perverted so get away from me.� He looked at her and smiled before she kissed him. �So what do we have to eat?�
�Our pizza should soon be here any minute.�
�Pizza and champagne?� She raised an eyebrow.
�Plus I have some delicious strawberries for desert.� He took a bowl from the basket and opened it to show her. She looked at him and took a strawberry. �Strawberries and champagne.�
�Romantic.�
�I thought so too.� She smiled taking a bite of her strawberry and then a sip of her champagne.
�Mmm, this is good. Ya have to try them together.� She put the strawberry to his lips and he took a bite. �Now take a sip of the champagne.� He did as she requested and just looked at her. �Ain�t it good?�
�Very.� He continued looking at her and smiled.
�What?� He just shook his head and gave her a kiss.
�I love you.�
�Awe, I love you too.� They kissed again and he took the glass from her. �What are you doing?� He set the glasses in the sand and just kissed her in reply. She kissed him in return and he laid her back on the blanket.
