�Tell whoever it is I�ll call them back,� Dakota said. �I�m kind of busy right now.�
�You might want to take this one,� Dawson said. �It sounds pretty important.� Dakota looked at him. �It�s the London Hospital.� Dakota looked at him confused. �Something about a Nickolas Carter.� Dakota stopped what she was doing and Orlando looked at her.
�Go ahead and take it,� James said and Dakota took the phone from Dawson.
�Hello,� Dakota said into the phone. �This is Dakota Jacobson.�
�Yes, Miss Jacobson, this is Dr. Williamson from the London Hospital,� the lady replied. �I was informed to contact you in regards to Nickolas Carter. He has you listed as the person to call in case of an emergency.�
�Just get on with it, Doctor. What�s wrong with Nick?�
�If you could come in I�d be happy to explain.� Dakota sighed and looked at the others.
�I�ll be right there.�
�Thank you.�
�Yeah.� Dakota turned off her phone. �James, I�m sorry, but I have to go. There�s an emergency and I was listed as the contact.�
�It�s ok,� James said. �Go right ahead. A few more days won�t hurt any considering we are ahead of schedule. Go be with your friend.�
�Thank you.� She started walking away and Orlando followed her.
�Hey, is everything ok with Nick?� Orlando asked concerned.
�I don�t know,� Dakota replied. �The doctor didn�t say anything except to come in.�
�I can drive ya if ya want me to.�
�I guess it�s better than getting a cab.� He nodded.
�Go change quick and I�ll meet ya at my car.�
�Ok.� She went into the female dressing trailer and quickly changed. In a few minutes she met Orlando at his car and he drove her to the hospital. After sending Orlando back to the set she went into the ER and saw MyKenna sitting in the waiting room. �I�m not surprised you�re here.�
�I was with him,� MyKenna stated.
�I ain�t surprised by that either.� MyKenna just shook her head. �So what happened to him?�
�I don�t know. He said he wasn�t feeling well and then fell to the floor.�
�What�d the doctor say?�
�Nothing yet; I guess she�s waiting for you. You know how it is nowadays.�
�Right.�
�I tried calling Aaron, but he wouldn�t answer.�
�I called him and he�s on his way.�
�I�m surprised you came.�
�Why wouldn�t I? Just because he hurt me and I�m pissed at him doesn�t mean I stopped caring about him, MyKenna. When you care about someone for as long as I have it�s really hard to forget. Then again you wouldn�t know.� MyKenna didn�t say anything and only looked at her. �So where is this Dr. Williamson?�
�She�s in with Nick.� Dakota nodded and walked over to the nurse�s station.
�Hi,� Dakota said to the nurse. �Could you be kind enough and tell Dr. Williamson that Dakota Jacobson is here to see Nickolas Carter?�
�Yes, ma�am,� the nurse said walking away.
�Thank you so much,� Dakota said grinning and she looked at MyKenna. �You can go now.�
�Why?� MyKenna asked. �Nick needs a friend.�
�But why you? Haven�t you done enough damage?� MyKenna just looked at her. �Are you staying in hopes of taking him home and bedding him again?�
�That�s not fair, DJ. I feel guilty enough.�
�I�m glad you do.� They just looked at each other and the doctor joined them.
�Miss Jacobson, I�m Dr. Williamson,� Dr. Williamson said.
��DJ� please,� Dakota said and Dr. Williamson nodded. �How�s Nickolas?�
�Nickolas has a case of alcohol poisoning,� Dr. Williamson replied.
�Is that deadly?�
�Not if it�s caught right away.�
�And was it?�
�Yes.� Dakota left out the breath she was holding in.
�So he�s going to be all right?�
�Of course.�
�May I see him?�
�This way.� Dakota followed the doctor to Nickolas� room and they stood at the door. �He just woke up so he�s still a little groggy. Then the meds we gave him on top of it.� Dakota nodded. �He�s going to be fine so there�s no need to be worried.�
�Ok.�
�You can go see him.�
�Thank you.� Dr. Williamson walked away and Dakota walked into the room. She started walking over to the bed and Nickolas looked over at her.
�Shorty, hey,� Nickolas said and Dakota stopped and just looked at him.
�Hey,� Dakota said.
�I�m glad you�re here.�
�They called me and I just came because I thought you were alone.�
�Liar; you were worried.� He grinned and she just looked at him a moment.
�I didn�t know MyKenna would be here with you.�
�Oh, yeah, um�� He sat up in the bed. �She was there when I got sick.� Dakota nodded and lowered her head. �The only thing that was going on between us was a fight.�
�I don�t need an explanation, Nick. We�re not together anymore.�
�But you still deserve an explanation when��
�No I don�t. You and I were months ago and months ago I deserved an explanation that I never got. You hurt me and an explanation months later ain�t going to change anything now.�
�I�m not trying to change anything. It�s supposed to be this way for a reason.� She just looked at him. �This is just a test for us, Shorty. We�re going to get through this and get back together.�
�Don�t do this, Nick, not now.�
�But I love you.� Dakota shook her head and thought of something to change the subject. She didn�t want to be reminded of how she still felt about this man. He hurt her in the worst way possible and she didn�t want to remember. She just wanted to forget and move on with her life. That was proving to her to be a task impossible.
�So how long have you been drinking?�
�I never said I was.�
�You have alcohol poisoning, Nickolas, and I highly doubt it�s from soda pop.� He sighed.
�Ok, I admit it, I�ve had a few.�
�How many is a few?�
�Ya want the truth?� She nodded. �I�ve been drinking since you left back in July; well since the first time I slept with Tiffany.� Dakota sighed at the mention of that name. She didn�t want to hear it come from anyone�s lips, especially from the lips of the man she was so madly and desperately in love with. It was already bad enough that she had to do a movie with her for a few months.
�Do you want me to feel guilty that you�re in here?�
�No, because it�s my fault. I�m the one that hurt you and I caused you to leave. I�m the guilty one here and I take full responsibility.�
�I don�t want to get into this.� They just looked at each other a moment and Nickolas watched her walk out.
