Everyone was finally out of the hotel and back to their normal lives. Jenai walked back upstairs from the basement and walked to the kitchen. She pushed open the door and saw Nickolas and Kevin sitting at the table and Kristin by the stove.
Thanks for the help, Kevy, Jenai said walking to the refrigerator. I appreciate it.
You managed, Kevin said.
Yeah, but it wasnt easy with this damn brace on, Jenai rebutted. You see your wife everyday, so I dont think it wouldve killed ya to pull yourself away from her for five minutes to help me out. They laughed.
I was sharing some good news with him, Kristin stated.
Please tell me you found a nice house in the hills and were moving out of this snake infested dump, Jenai said. Better yet, tell me you found a place by the ocean with a beautiful waterfall close by. They looked at her.
Kevin and I are going to have a baby, Kristin replied. Im two months pregnant.
Really?
Yeah.
Thats great. She hugged Kristin. Thats terrific. Im so happy. Its about time you made yourself useful, Kevin.
Yeah, Kevin said sarcastically and Nickolas laughed. Keep it up, Rookie.
Sorry, Sarge, Nickolas said putting on a straight face.
Leave Nick go, Kevin, Jenai said. He means no harm. Hes a nice guy.
This coming from the girl who hates cops, Nickolas said. Im a nice guy she says.
Be glad she likes you, Kevin said.
I am, Nickolas replied.
Good, Jenai said.
What time is your appointment, JJ? Kristin questioned.
Um, 1:30, Jenai answered. Hopefully Brian will take this damn thing off. Then Ill have a few weeks of rehab to do before I can dance again. Im hoping I can dance again by Christmas. Thatll be the best present ever.
Im sure it will be, Kevin said.
I really want to go back to work, Jenai said. I love Club Z and I love Alex.
Maybe Alex can make ya a waitress or something until you can dance again, Kristin suggested. I know it wont be the same, but at least youll be back at the club. Jenai nodded.
Ill talk to him, Jenai said. Im sure we can work something out.
Of course you can, Kevin said.
Club Zs my second home, Jenai said to Nickolas while sitting beside him. If I aint here Im usually there.
Is that so? Nickolas asked and Jenai nodded. Ill remember that.
Please do, Jenai said and Nickolas smiled.
But youll be here tonight right? Nickolas asked.
Why? Jenai asked in return.
Yeah, why? Kevin wanted to know.
Something to do, Nickolas replied. He looked and Jenai and she smiled.
Why do ya want to know? Kevin questioned.
In case I want to come visit her, Nickolas replied.
Why? Kevin asked.
Why does it matter? Jenai wanted to know. Its my life and Ill hang with whoever I want to and you cant stop me.
Well just see about that, Kevin said and Jenai rolled her eyes.
What are you making for lunch, Kris? Jenai asked.
Macaroni and cheese, Kristin replied.
Yummy, Jenai said,
Its what Kevin wanted, Kristin stated and Jenai looked at Nickolas again.
Why are you here? Jenai questioned and Nickolas smiled while shaking his head. I didnt invite you. Kevin walked out.
Kevin did, Nickolas answered.
Why?
I can easily go if ya dont want me here.
No you can stay; I was just curious.
I dont know why he invited me.
Oh. She smiled. Im glad youre here though.
Why?
No reason. I just like your company. He smirked. I got use to being with you and all.
Its going to be weird not seeing you everyday.
Yeah it is.
Well live though.
Yes.
We can still hang out and stuff. He nodded. Well see each other and stuff like at the station or whatever.
Yeah. Kristin looked at them and shook her head. We still got the movie thing tonight.
Of course. They nodded and Kristin set food in front of them.
Eat up and enjoy, Kristin said and they nodded, as Kevin walked back in.

Ok, Dr. Lima, Jenai began, you said it doesnt look good, but what does that mean exactly?
The cysts on your ovaries is more than just cysts, Jenai, Dr. Lima said and Jenai looked at him. You have ovarian cancer.
Ca-Cancer?
Im sorry.
Are you sure? Maybe somebody messed up.
I did the tests three times and they came back positive each time. Jenai didnt say anything. The cysts were already preventing you from having any children and
And the cancer?
The cancer could end up killing you if you dont have surgery to remove it.
Youd remove the cysts also, right?
Of course.
Will I be able to have children then?
Theres probably a 30% chance you can.
So its highly unlikely I can and I should just give up the possibility right now, because itll never happen.
You do have ovarian cancer, but never say never. God could work a miracle.
First I get stopped from dancing and now I wont be able to have any kids. Could things get any worse?
I recommend you have the surgery as soon as possible to have a chance at having children. Jenai didnt say anything. You cant ignore it, Jenai. The longer you wait the worse its going to get.
Do I get to think about what I want to happen?
Of course; its your right. Jenai nodded. Why dont you come back in two weeks and we can discuss it more.
Alright.
Make an appointment with the nurse and Ill see ya then. She nodded and they got up. Ill leave a prescription with the nurse and get it filled right away.
Ok.
Take care, Jenai.
You too. Jenai sighed and walked out of the office.
