�I hope so.� Cujo barked while looking at Nickolas.
�Hey, lil� guy.� Nickolas petted him. �And what�s your name?�

�She saw the movie as many times as she read the book. She could recite both word for word.� Nickolas just looked at her. �I�m being honest.�
�I believe ya.� He grinned. �We�ll catch the killer.�
�I know ya will. I don�t doubt ya�s down there.�
�You don�t have to.� She smiled and they just looked at each other a couple minutes.
�You can sit down.�
�Is it alright with Cujo though? He�s, like, trying to bite my hand off.� They laughed.
�There�s dog treats on the front seat, he might want those.�
�Right.�
�It�s better than your hand.�
�I guess so.� He opened the truck door and saw the bag of dog treats. He picked them up and saw a picture of Jenai and some girl taped to the glove compartment. �Who�s the girl you�re with?�
�Um�my sister, Brianna.� He rejoined her and she looked at him.
�She�s pretty.�
�She was beautiful and the guys loved her; especially Damien.�
�Do you see her often?� Jenai looked at him. �Kevin said your family abandoned you.�
�I haven�t seen her for nine years; when that picture was taken.� She got out of the truck. �I haven�t seen her since, but I wish I could one last time. Even if it is for a second ya know.�
�You make it sound like she died.�
�That�s because she did and I don�t want to talk about it alright.� She walked to the edge and left out a disgusted sigh.

�Forget it; you didn�t know.� He stood beside her.
�I�m sorry about the other night.� She looked at him and shrugged.

�How do you know Dani anyway? From the club?�
�Through my brother actually.�

�He�s dating Dani�s friend Summer from Club Z.�

�Are you telling me your brother is Aaron?�

�Poor you.� Nickolas grinned. �He�s dating Summer and always wants me to do private shows for him.� Nickolas chuckled. �I�m glad you find it amusing.�
�Well he�s young so what do you expect?�
�Someone more mature in his line of work.�
�Well when it comes to work he�s very mature.� Jenai nodded. �Can I get a private show?�
�No.�
�Why not? I think I deserve one for saving your life.� He smirked.
�I don�t do private shows. A couple of the other girls do, but I don�t.� Nickolas looked at her. �The men always want something more and I ain�t like that. I may not be a virgin, but that doesn�t mean I go out and sleep with any guy that shows interest.�
�That�s cool.�
�Some don�t think so. They think that since I�m a stripper I�m easy ya know and I ain�t.�
�No you�re not.�

�I meant as in getting you to accept my apology and getting another date.� Jenai looked at him. �I want to make up for the other night.� She sighed.
�I don�t know.�
�We can do it as friends since ya hate cops.� She gave a little grin. �What do ya say? Dinner and a movie?� She didn�t say anything. �You can pick the movie and then afterwards, if ya want, we can get some Italian take out at Stefano�s.� She grinned.
�I�ll make ya a deal.�
�Ok.�
�You kiss me right now then I�ll forget about the other night.� She looked at him biting her bottom lip.
�Alright.� He smiled and pulled her to him. They looked at each other a second then he kissed her. They stayed like that a few seconds before Jenai pulled away. �What?�
�You�re a cop.�
�Yeah I know that.�
�I can�t�� She didn�t finish and started walking away, but Nickolas stopped her.
�Can�t ya put your hatred for cops aside a few minutes to enjoy a kiss?� She looked at him.
�I�m just afraid.�
�Of what?� He pulled her to him again and brushed her lips with his. �What are you afraid of?�
�Getting too attached to a cop and then them end up getting hurt.�
�You have nothing to worry about.�
�I pray everyday for Kevin, Jakob, and Justin�and now you.� They kissed. �I hate anyone that wears a law enforcement badge�I hate you.�
�But I like you.� He kissed her and she put her arms around him.
