�Abut 21 years ago I think it was,� Aaron replied.
�Yeah, 21 years,� Gabrielle said.
�A happy 21 years,� Aaron added and I looked at him. �They�re best friends. Always there for each other.�
�Friends always are.� They nodded. �Have they ever been��
�An item?� Gabrielle said.
�Yeah; were they?�
�Nope,� Aaron said shaking his. �They make a cute couple though I think.� I just looked at him.
�Aaron,� Gabrielle said.
�What?� Aaron asked. �I�m just being honest. I�m sure Cameron would want his fianc�e�s friends to be honest with him.�
�Actually I would and I appreciate it.�
�See, Babe,� Aaron said. �The truth shall set ya free.�
�Yeah; they�ve been up there for awhile.� I looked up the stairs wanting to go up. �Do you think everything�s all right?�
�I�m sure everything�s fine,� Aaron said. �When Eve�s sick she likes to have someone with her the whole time and it�s usually Nick. She feels a lot better when he�s with her.�
�I see. She won�t need to have him around after we�re married, because I�ll be there for her.�
�Right,� Aaron said. �I�m going to go check on my brother and Ev.� He ran upstairs.
�So�has Eve and Nick ever�ya know?� Gabrielle just looked at me. �I mean friends share stuff like that.�
�No,� Gabrielle said with assurance in her voice. �Their relationship is strictly platonic. They�re best friends. I, personally, wouldn�t be able to do anything with my best guy friend. I wouldn�t feel right.� I just looked at her. �You have nothing to worry about, CJ, Ev and Nick are just friends.�
�I�m not worried, because I understand they�re friends.�
�But there�s something wrong.� I looked at her. �I�ve known ya a little over a year and never seen ya like this. What�s the problem?�
�It�s just that when Nick came into the office at �BG� the other day Eve kissed him and he kissed her in return.�
�Oh; they always do that after so much time apart. They just miss each other.�
�There was tongue.�
�Oh�um...� She just looked at me.

�Exactly.� I smiled and so did Gabrielle.
�Hey, Gab,� Aaron said rejoining us. �Can I talk to ya a sec?�
�Sure,� Gabrielle said.
�How�s Evangelique?�
�Sleeping,� Aaron replied. �They both are.�
�At least she�s getting rest.�
�Yeah,� Gabrielle said. �Why don�t you go though? Eve doesn�t like having a lot of people around when she�s sick.�
�I got things to do anyway. Just tell her I�ll call her later.�
�I will,� Gabrielle said.
�I�ll see ya�s later.� I walked out.

�So what�s up?� I asked Aaron after I heard the front door shut.
�Just Evan and Nick making out upstairs,� Aaron replied and I looked at him.
�Did I hear you right? Did you say Evan and Nick are making out?� He just smiled and nodded. �I can�t believe this.�
�I think it�s cool.�
�Then why�d you tell CJ they were sleeping?�
�Did you really want me to tell him that his fianc�e is upstairs making out with my brother, her best friend? He�d be crushed.�
�Alright; ok, you have a point.� I just sighed and sat down.
�Now I have my proof they are totally into each other.�
�A lot of people make out that aren�t into each other�like us for example.� What a lie that was. I was totally into Aaron. He sat next to me and I looked at him. �I know a lot of people that do it just for fun.�
�Maybe so, but I do it, because I like it and I�m totally digging you.� Did he just say what I think he said? He kissed me. �I�m really totally digging you.� Yep he did. On the inside I was jumping up and down, but on the outside I was keeping my cool. �But anyway, Evan and Nick totally want each other. It�s so obvious they do. You might not see it right now, but one day you will and realize how right I was.� He smiled.
�I guess so, but right now Ev wants to be with CJ.�
�Ugh! Are you trying purposely not to see the obvious?�
�What do I got to see?� He got up.
�Thursday Nick came home, surprised Eve and she surprised him with a kiss and some tongue.� I looked at him. �Nick told me.� I nodded. �She made Cameron leave to be with Nick. They joined us at Rok�s and were all over each other. Did you see them on the back porch?�
�No.�
�Well I did. She was letting him kiss her and touch her and had no problem with it.� What the hell was he talking about? He was confusing me. Nothing was making any sense.
�Aaron, I don�t think you quite understand.� He looked at me and I stood in front of him. �You�re not best friends with someone for 21 years and then fall in love with them all of a sudden.�
�Why not?�
�Because it doesn�t work that way.�
�Well in Evan and Nick�s case it did.�
�I don�t think so. Ev loves CJ.�
�To the untrained eye she does. I�ve known them longer than you have and their relationship has changed. They�re in love whether they want to admit it or not. Whether you want to admit it or not.� I just looked at him. �Gabi, you�ve seen her with Nick and you�ve seen her with CJ so you know who she�s happiest with.�
�If she doesn�t love CJ then why is she marrying him?�
�Why�d she keep quiet about him for so long?� I sighed.
�I don�t know.�
�Neither do I.�
�I guess ya might have a point.�
�I do.� I looked at him. �Talk to her. I�m sure she�d say the something to you.�

�I don�t know. Anything.�

�It ain�t going to be that hard to ask her a few questions.�
�I guess not.�
�It ain�t so don�t worry.� I just grinned and hoped that Aaron knew what he was doing.
