�Let�s sit down.� She just looked at him and he led her over to the dinner she had setup in front of the candle-lit fireplace. �You spent all day making this and planning it and it shouldn�t be wasted.� He pulled out the chair for her. �Go on, sit down.� She waited a second then slowly sat down. �Thank you.� He sat across from her and they looked at each other. �So what do you want to know?� He poured them some wine.
�I want to know what�s bothering you.� He set the bottle down and just looked at her. �Please, Nick, I want to know.�
He sighed and waited a moment before saying, �It�s the whole Danielle having our baby thing.�
�Don�t you want a baby now? Aren�t you happy? We agreed on this and I thought it�s what you wanted.�
�I do want a baby with you, but I really don�t want it this way.�

�I always hoped that I�d get to see my wife pregnant and give birth to our children and not someone else.�
�We talked about this, Nick, and we already had that decision to make. I wanted to carry the baby, but you refused since there was a chance it could cost my life.�

�And it was your idea for a surrogate instead of just adopting.�
�I know that too.�
�So why be angry about it?�
�Because it�s not fair.�
�No it�s not, but God wants it this way. I don�t like it myself, but I�m trying to deal with it.�

�How is it? It affects the both of us, but me mainly. You can still have children, Nick, but if I do I could die. You chose a surrogate because you didn�t want to lose me.�
�And I don�t. I love you too much to watch you die. That�s why I chose you over our first child. I wanted a child, but I didn�t want it if it meant losing you.�
�I�d love to give you a child, Baby, but you don�t want me to.�
�I want you to as long as it doesn�t kill you or hurt you in anyway. I love you too much to watch this take its toll on you.�
�I take my medicine every day and I got to all my check ups. Dr. Matheson said if we do this right we can get pregnant.� She moved over next to him and took his hand in hers. �I�m going to do all I have to get pregnant and have a healthy one.�
�We can get pregnant, Sunnie; but it�ll kill you.�
�Not if we do as the doctor says.� She smiled and Nickolas gave a little grin. �I think in about two years we can try and have a baby ourselves. It�s what we both want after all.�
�Yeah.�
�We can wait until this baby is a year or so and try for another.�
�I guess so.�
�You just can�t give up on me having one.� He just looked at her. �Come on, Nicky; it�s not the end of the world. You still got me, the love of your life, and we�re having a baby. What more could a guy want?�
�I guess you�re right.�
�I am.�
He smiled. �You are gorgeous after all.� She smiled and he kissed her. �And a good kisser.� She continued smiling and he kissed her again.
�Are there any other nice comments?�
�You have a killer body.�
�And I keep it this way just for you.�
�I know.�
�You have a nice body too.�
�Whatever.� She smiled and leaned into him, putting her head on his chest. He put his arms around her and kissed the top of her head. �You�re gorgeous inside and out, Sweets, and I�m lucky to have you.�
�I�m the lucky one.� She looked up at him and kissed him. �We�ll have the family we dreamed of, Nick.�
�I hope so.�
�We will. It may take a while, but it�ll happen. I know it�ll happen.�
�You�re so optimistic.�
�For some things.� She smiled. �I know what I want.�
�And you get it.�
�Of course I do.� He smiled. �I never realized how much I wanted a family with you until we had that horrible decision to make.�
�Hopefully we won�t have to do it again.�
�We won�t, because everything�s going to be fine next time.� She gave him a reassuring smile. �Our love�s going to make everything all right?�
�Yes it is.� He kissed her.
�So then do you want to practice making a baby?�
�Practice?� She nodded. �We have no protection, Sunnie. You can�t be on birth control with your medicine and there�s no condom�s anywhere.�
�Since when did that stop us?�
�Never.�
�Exactly.�
�But I want us to take precautions.�
�Once ain�t going to hurt, Baby. Don�t you want to make love to me?� He sighed and smiled while thinking about it. �Don�t you want to hear me call out your name in a state of ecstasy? Don�t you want us to reach orgasm together?� Nickolas only answered her with a kiss and pulled her off the chair. �I�ll take that as a yes.�
�You do that.� He started kissing her neck but stopped and cleared off the table. He lifted her onto the table and laid her back. He smiled, getting on top of her, and she kissed him. �I can�t believe we went this long.�
�Me either.� She ripped his shirt open and pushed it off him.
�You�re not expecting anyone are you?�
�Nope. You?�
�Nope.� She smiled. �Good.� She smiled and removed her shirt. �I have a feeling practice is going to go very well.�
�Me too, but enough talking. A little less conversation and little more action please.� Nickolas just moaned a yes while kissing her neck and made a trail of kisses down to her waist and back up to her neck. He went to kiss her a second, but stopped.
�Wait a second. Don�t move.� He got off her and ran to the kitchen as she just laid there. She waited a few seconds and Nickolas rejoined her. She looked at him and he smiled as he held up the chocolate syrup.
�What is your fetish with sex and food?�
He smiled and opened the bottle while saying, �I just love combining two of my favorite things�well three things.� She smiled. �Open up.� She opened her mouth and he put a little syrup in. He leaned down and kissed her putting his tongue in her mouth. He pulled away after a moment and then made a chocolate trail from her neck down to her waistline. He took his tongue up her body licking off the chocolate and he stopped at her chest.
He looked at her smiling, ready to remove her brassiere, when they heard, �Surprise!� They both looked and saw their friends and Nickolas� family.
