Hey, Nick, Sunshine said after opening the door to her brother-in-law and his band mates. Come in.
Hey, Sunn, Nicholas said giving her a hug. I hope you dont mind the other guys came with?
Not at all. She left them all in. Im surprised Madeline didnt come with to lecture me about something.
Well, we were at the studio and she was shopping. I didnt tell her I was coming. Sunshine just smiled as they walked to the parlor.
Sunn, I thin you get prettier every time I see you, Jeffrey Timmons said.
Aw, thanks, Sunshine said. Have a seat. They all sat as the phone rang. Hold on. She picked up the phone. Hellowell this is the brideexcuse mewe need those flowers on Saturdaybut the weddings Saturdaywell todays ThursdayI dont care if its too many rosesyoure a florist so you should have themnowe told you way back in April of last yearI dont careyou said youd have them allyeah, well its simple, you either have all the roses there Saturday morning or you wont get paid. She hung up the phone. I think he got the message.
Aint it working out? Nicholas asked.
No. The florist has been giving us problems since the beginning of the month.
How many roses are you having? Drew, Nicholas brother, asked.
We agreed on a thousand, but Nick said he called and changed it so I have no clue. He wont tell me either.
Its a surprise, Nicholas said.
Hes just full of surprises anymore.
So whats up?
Oh right. Since youre all here I can ask you all. They just looked at her. I know this is like last minute, but Nick and I just thought of it and well understand if you say no.
Go on, Justin Jeffre said.
Well, our song is I Do Cherish You. The guys looked at her. And we thought itd be cool if you guys would sing it at the reception for the bride/groom dance. So Im asking if you guys wouldnt mind singing it.
I dont see why not, Jeffrey said. Were all going to be there.
I think its a great idea, Drew added.
We never did a wedding before, Justin said. But theres a first for everything. Im game. Nicholas just looked at them.
What about you, Nick? Sunshine asked.
Well, Nicholas said getting up. I dont know. I mean its last minute and were going to really need to practice. We havent sung I Do for a long time.
I understand, Sunshine said a bit disappointed about his decision. She lowered her head, as Nicholas looked at her and smiled.
Bro, come on, Drew said. Its Sunn, our sister-in-law, your wifes sister
Drew, Im kidding, Nicholas said, as Sunshine looked at him and smiled. Id be honored to sing at your reception.
Thank you! Thank you! Thank You! Sunshine said jumping up and giving Nicholas a hug. Youre my favorite brother-in-law.
Anytime kiddo, Nicholas said.
Do ya want it acapella or with music? Jeffrey asked.
Umwith music if it aint too much, Sunshine replied.
Im sure our band wont mind, Justin said. Youll just have some extra quests.
Therell be plenty of food, Sunshine said.
Well, we better go practice, Drew said, as they all stood up. We got to make it extra special for our sister.
Very special, Jeffrey said.
This means so much to meto us, Sunshine said. Were even going to pay you.
NO! the four guys yelled.
Why not?
Because itll be our gift to you, Nicholas said.
But
No.
Fine.
Well, we better go, Justin said. Practice. Practice. Practice. They started walking to the door.
Hey, Nick. She joined him at the door.
Yeah, Nicholas said.
Dont tell Maddie about this. I really dont want a speech from her. If it happens to slip though make sure she doesnt try to harass me about it.
Dont worry about Maddie. Worry about your wedding and Ill deal with your sister.
Thanks. They hugged.
Anytime.
You owe us for this, Jeffrey teased, as they hugged.
Whatever, Sunshine said.
Just be in our next video, Drew said hugging her.
Maybe.
Well see ya tomorrow night, Justin said giving her a hug.
Yeah. Go practice.
Later, the four guys said going out the door and Sunshine closed it. She turned and started walking down the steps ignoring the pain in her lower back. She walked to the kitchen, as the phone rang.
It better not be the florist. Ill kick his ass. She picked up the phone. Talk to me.
Hey, Sunn, its Lea.
Hey.
Is Drew there?
He just left.
Ok. I tried his cell, but it kept ringing.
I dont know.
Well thanks anyway. Ill see ya later.
Later. Sunshine turned the phone off and started towards the kitchen again. She opened the refrigerator and looked in, as someone walked into the kitchen. She looked further in the fridge, as the person walked up behind her and put their arms around her. She just froze and didnt move or say anything.
Boy have I missed you, the person said.
Aaron, you little shit! Sunshine yelled turning around and slapping him. I almost had a heart attack. Youre a jerk.
Sorry, Aaron apologized through laughter. Nick dared me to do it.
I didnt tell you to scare the shit out of her, Nickolas said walking over to Sunshine.
Youre both jerks, Sunshine said. I thought I was going to be raped and murdered.
Are you all right? Nickolas asked very seriously.
Ill be fine. Thats twice thats happened. Im hoping theres no third time. They just looked at her. Third times a charm.
Right, Nickolas said. Sorry.
We saw 98 Degrees, Aaron said changing the subject. I dont want to get into a fight with them.
What were they doing here? Nickolas questioned raising an eyebrow.
They agreed to sing at the reception, Sunshine said ready to walk away, but Nickolas stopped her. He put his arms around her. What? He only smiled.
Excuse me, Aaron said walking out and Nickolas laughed.
Do I get a kiss? Nicolas asked and Sunshine just shrugged. I think I do. He kissed her. How about another? He kissed her again. And another? He kissed her a third time. And another? He kissed her a fourth and he moved down to her neck. I really missed this neck. He began kissing her neck.
Nick, stop, Sunshine said pushing him away.
What?
Aarons here. Or did you forget that?
Be dont care, Sweets.
But I do.
Whats wrong? Aaron walked back in.
Nothing. She didnt look at him. Did you boys eat?
No. Nickolas sat at the table and eyed Sunshine closely.
I can make some ravioli. Canned anyway.
Whatever, Aaron said sitting across from his brother, but Nickolas didnt take his gaze off Sunshine. I cant believe my brothers marrying my crush on Saturday. Im heartbroken.
Well, its happening, Nickolas said watching Sunshine, as she slowly got the ravioli from the cupboard. Aaron, youll find someone as sweet as Sunnie.
Yeah, well, Im objecting on Saturday, Aaron stated all serious.
Sure ya will, Nickolas said getting up. Sunnie, sit down. He took the ravioli from her.
I got it, Sunshine said. Go away.
Go rest and Ill make dinner.
I said I got it. Im not cripple.
No one said you were.
Well you make it seem like I am anymore.
Im sorry. I just
Forget about it. Im not going to waste my breath. You make dinner and I hope you boys enjoy it. Not seeing Nickolas hand, Sunshine slammed the can down and on it and walked out.
Son of a bitch! Aaron jumped up, but Sunshine kept walking.
Dude, are you ok? Aaron asked walking over to his brother, as Nickolas held his hand.
That really hurt, but I dont think its broke. Shes not as week as she looks.
Can ya move it?
Im fine so dont worry. I just wish I knew what was wrong with her thats all. Aaron looked at his brother, as he sat at the table.
