She smiled and said, �Nicky.�
�Sunnie,� Nickolas said returning the smile.
�What are you doing here? I thought you were at Kevin�s.�
�I thought you were there also. I was looking for you.�
�Really? I mean, here I am.�
�May I come in?�
�Yeah, sorry.� She stepped aside and left him inside. She closed the door and looked at him in the dark.
�Do we get light?�
�Ain�t the moonlight good enough?� They walked to the parlor side by side. �It gives off a romantic vibe.�
Nickolas smiled. �I don�t think we need moonlight to give off any vibes. We can do that on our own.�
Sunshine bit her bottom lip and turned on the lamp. �I was just on my way to Kevin�s.�
�This late?�
�They just started, because Kev called.� Nickolas raised an eyebrow. �I�m being honest.� She sat on the loveseat and Nickolas sat beside her.
�I believe ya.� They smiled and he moved closer.
�What are you doing here?�
�I thought last night went well. Didn�t you?�
�Well, yeah, after we got pass the fighting.�
�I meant what I said.� Sunshine just smiled at him, as he took his hand up her arm. �I can�t go another day without you in my life.� He pushed the hair away from her neck. �I need you�� He kissed her neck. �Tonight.� He kissed her neck again, as she turned her head to look at him. �Let�s finish what we started last night.� He found her lips and kissed her. She kissed him in return just as his cell phone rang.
�Nicky.�
�Don�t worry, Sweets�nothing�s interrupting this wonderful moment.� The phone continued to ring and Nickolas ignored it, as he laid Sunshine back. Sunshine wrapped her arms around his neck, as they continued to kiss. He started to remove her shirt, as her phone rang. �Are you getting that?�
�No; the machine can.�
�Good.� She left him take off her shirt and began to unbutton his. He only smiled at her, as she slid his shirt off. As he kissed her, he held her closer. He sat them up and she straddled him. He left her kiss him, but held her close as she did so.
He kissed her neck, as she whispered softly in his ear, �I love you, Nicky.�
�I love you, Sweets.� His phone started ringing again. He stopped kissing her and looked at her, as she took her hands over his bare chest and he smiled. �Do you want to take Junior for a ride?�
�I thought you�d never ask.� She kissed him hungrily.
They continued kissing for the next few minutes with no interruptions. They laid back down just as Nickolas� phone began to ring again. They stopped kissing and Nickolas said, �It must be important.�
�Do you have to answer it?�
�I better.� Nickolas picked the phone up off the stand. He turned it on and sat up straight. �Hello.� He smiled at Sunshine, as she watched him. He ran a hand over her stomach and up to her chest; slowly sliding his hand in her brassiere. He caressed her breast as a moan escaped her and he smiled, very pleased.
Sunshine took his hand, kissed his fingers, and knelt beside him. She took her fingers through his hair and kissed his neck. �Hurry up.� Nickolas smiled at her, as she kissed his neck again.
�Excuse me?� Nickolas said into the phone and Sunshine looked at him. �Are ya sure�I know�yeah, I�m still here�no�thanks for cluing me in�later.� He turned the phone off, but didn�t look at Sunshine.
�Baby, what�s wrong?� Sunshine asked trying to get him to look at her. He just pushed her away and got up. He picked up his shirt with Sunshine looking at him. �What�s the matter?�
�Nothing.�
�Oh, so we�re back to this again!� She got up. �What the fuck did I do this time?� She picked up her shirt.
�Not a thing.�
She put her shirt on, but couldn�t find her one sleeve. Nickolas helped her and she said, �Thanks.�
�You�re welcome.�
�Why are you lying to me? I thought things were working out for us?�
�I�m not lying.� He walked to the door. �And things will never work out for us, Sunnie.�
�Nicky.� He didn�t answer or look at her, but opened the door. �Fine! Fuck you!�
�No thanks. Why don�t you go find Brad? Maybe he�ll give ya what you want.� He walked out, slamming the door, and Sunshine stood there dumbfounded.
She stood there a second and then ran out after Nickolas. He was walking away from the door and she asked, �What the hell is that supposed to mean?�
�You know exactly what I mean.� He waited for the elevator, but didn�t look at her.
�I�m not sleeping with Brad if that�s what you think. I�d never do that to you. I love you.� She took his hand and he just pulled it away, as the elevator opened. He got on with Sunshine looking at him, as tears filled her eyes.
He looked at her and said, �I don�t know what to think anymore. I thought I knew you, but I guess I was wrong.�
�Nicky.� She went forward just as the doors shut. She slammed her hand on the doors yelling, �Prick!� She slowly walked back with tears sliding down her cheeks.
