Pain because he was jealous of Bradley. He wasn�t jealous. Not over anybody. He had no reason to be jealous. Everyone was wrong about what they thought. Maybe part of the reason he ended it with Sunshine had to do with Bradley. It wasn�t because he was jealous though. He didn�t care what Bradley did, just as long as it didn�t deal with Sunshine.
He just stood outside the condo for the longest time thinking. All he wanted to do was get his things and leave. But going inside would just hurt Sunshine more. He didn�t want that. He didn�t want Sunshine hurting, but it was the best and right thing to do. He worked up the courage and knocked on the door. He waited a minute and the door opened.
�Fischetti?� That�s why it was for the best.
�Carter.�
�Sunnie home?�
�Yeah, come in.�
Nickolas stepped inside and saw some of the mess. �What happened here?�
�Sunn.� Nickolas only looked at him. �You hurt her pretty bad. Jo and D came home to a mess and a drunken Sunn outside on the banister. She drank some wine.�
�Is she all right? She�s not hurt is she?�
�Physically she�s fine, but emotionally she�s falling apart. She loves you, Nick. So why�d you end it?�
�Let�s not get into it now.� He walked away and went back to Sunshine�s room.
He opened the bedroom door and heard the shower. Good, he thought. He could do it quickly and not have to see her. He got his extra duffel bag from the closet and started putting his things in it. He put the bag on the bed and picked up a picture of him and Sunshine. He stood there looking at it and remembering every little detail between them.
He didn�t hear anything until he heard, �Nicky.�
He turned around and saw Sunshine, standing at the bathroom door, dripping wet and wrapped in a towel. They just looked at each other and Nickolas couldn�t help but look her over. He always found her the sexiest when she was wet and wanted to lay her on the bed to make love to her until she said stop. He controlled himself though and took a deep breath. He put the picture back on the stand and said, �I just came by for my things.�
�Oh.� She held back her tears. �Don�t let me stop you.�
Nickolas watched her look at her hands then go back into the bathroom. He stood there a moment then walked over to the bathroom and looked in at Sunshine. �Sunnie�� Nickolas watched her wipe off her hands with the rag then saw the blood. He walked over to her and took her hands. �What happened?�
She looked at him a moment then looked away saying, �I don�t know. I must�ve cut them on the glass from the mess I made.�
�Here; sit down.� He led her over to the toilet and she sat down while he got the first aid kit. He then knelt in front of her and took one of her hands. He wiped the blood off with the rag then put some antibiotic ointment on the cuts and wrapped her hand up. He put the same attention to her other hand and afterwards they just looked at each other, as Nickolas held her hands in his own.

Sunshine looked down at their hands and so did Nickolas. He waited a moment then pulled his hands from hers. Sunshine sighed and got up. Nickolas watched her walk out and then followed behind her. He just watched her, as she walked over to the dresser and open a drawer. She got clothes out and opened another. He watched her close it and turned to go back into the bathroom. He stopped her by saying, �Sunnie.� She stopped, but didn�t turn around. �Sweets, I�m��
�Don�t say anything. Please just don�t. It�s already going to be hard for me to accept the fact that it�s over. By you saying something else will only make it worse.� She turned and looked at him.
He saw the tears in her eyes and said, �I hate seeing you hurting.�
�Then why? We�re so right for each other. We fit perfectly.�
�I told you why. Its how I�m feeling. I just can�t marry you.�
�You never lied to me before, Nicky. So why start now? Are you trying to hurt me for the way I hurted you in the past?�
�Of course not. I would never do that.�
She put her clothes on the chair and said, �The moment I saw you I knew I wanted to marry you. The first time we kissed I felt so many things. The first time we made love a trillion sensations went through my body. When we confessed our love I just wanted to shout it to the universe. I was never so happy in my life.� She wiped away tears. �I love you, Nickolas, and I�m hoping you will realize that and admit your mistake.�
�I love you, but this is for the best.� She only looked at him and wiped away another tear.
�That�s why it�s going to be hard for me to get through this. You still love me, but don�t want to be with me. I don�t understand why.�
�I just want you to be happy.�
�How can I be happy when the only man I ever wanted doesn�t want me anymore?� She broke down in tears and Nickolas went over to her.
�Sunnie.� He took her in his arms and just held her. �I�m really sorry.�
�I love you, Nicky.� She just held onto him and then pushed him away. �Don�t�just go. Just leave. It�s the only thing you�ve been good at lately.�
�Sweets�� He reached for her and she backed away.
�No�leave.�
Nickolas just looked at her not knowing what to say. She looked away from him still crying. He went to take her in his arms, but stopped himself. He walked over to the bed and picked up his bag. He looked at Sunshine who still wasn�t looking at him. He slowly walked to the door and before opening he looked back at Sunshine. She was now sitting on the bed looking at the picture. He cursed himself and went out the door.
