It was the middle of the night when Sunshine finally got home. She unlocked the condo door and went inside. She closed the door and turned on the light. She walked down the parlor and threw her stuff on the sofa. She saw the light on the answering machine and hit the button, as she went to the kitchen.
She walked into the kitchen, as the machine started playing, �20 new messages.�
�Holy shit.�
�Sunshine, this is Madeline; I want to talk to you so give me a call when you get in,�
�You have my damn cell number, Maddie.� She rolled her eyes as the second message began playing.
�Hey, Sunn, it�s Brad.� She stopped in her tracks at the sound of Bradley�s voice and listened. �I just wanted to know if you�d like to get together sometime. I guess I�ll give ya a call some other time. Bye.� After the message she wondered why Bradley was finally calling her. It�s been months since she heard from him and she was beginning to think he forgot all about her. Hopefully he wanted to get together for good reasons. She got a bottle of water and listened to another message.
�Sunshine, this is Caitlin. I have a script for you to look at. It�s James Cameron and he saw your performance in �A Summer To Remember� and asked for you personally. Give me a call when you get in. Bye.�
�Ooh, James Cameron.� She smiled and walked back to the parlor.
�Sunshine, this is your mother. Where are you? Give me a call when you get this.�
�Sunshine Josephine, this is your sister again and if you soon don�t call me there�s going to be hell to pay. I have something very important to tell you. Where the hell are you anyway?�
�You damn people know where I was so quit your bitching.�
�Hey, Sunshine, it�s Caitlin again, another script crossed my desk the other day. It might be something you�d be interested in. It�s action so give me a call sometime so we can meet up. I�d call ya in South Dakota, but I know you�re busy with the movie and I don�t want to bother ya. So just give me a call then so we can discuss this.�
�In the morning, Caitlin.�
She laid on the sofa and listened to the messages and basically ignored them. The last and final message that she remembered hearing that night was from Nickolas, �Sunnie, it�s Nick, I know you most likely don�t want to talk to me after the other night, but there�s something I need to ask you. Perhaps you could give me a call when you get this message.� Long pause. �Um�I guess I�ll see ya when ya get back�or when I get back. Bye.�
Sunshine laid there wondering how Nickolas knew if he wanted something from her all he had to do was ask and she�d deliver. She got a blanket, covered herself up and fell asleep on the sofa thinking about Nickolas and Bradley�s messages.

�So why�d ya call?� Sunshine asked Bradley that morning on the phone.
�Well,� Bradley began, �the record company is having a party in June and I was wondering if you�d like to go with me. Just as friends though.�
�I guess, because I�ll probably have nothing better to do. Why�d you ask me though? I�m sure there are other girls dying to go out with you that you could�ve asked instead of your ex-girlfriend.�
�You�re the first girl that came to mind.�
�I guess I should be flattered since we basically ended on a bad note.�
�And I�m sorry about that.�
�So am I.�
They stayed silent a few minutes then Bradley said, �Plus Rich and Dev made a bet with me that I couldn�t get a date for this thing.�
�How much did you boys bet?�
�A thousand.�
�And I�m worth that?�
�You�re worth a lot more, Baby Doll.�
Sunshine smiled on her end. �Thanks.�
�You�re welcome.�
�Then I�ll go with ya for such a nice compliment and so you get that money and laugh in their face.� They both laughed and the door opened. Sunshine looked to see four smiling girls walk in. �Oh great, the herd�s here.�
�They discovered you�re back.� They laughed again.
�Unfortunately. Maybe I can sneak off to my room before they see me.�
�Sunn! You�re back!� Josephine yelled running over and giving her a hug.
�Oiy!�
�Guess ya can�t go hide now,� Bradley stated on the other end.
�No; I�m discovered.�
�Then I�ll leave ya go. I�ll talk to ya later. Bye.�
�Bye.� Sunshine turned off the phone.
�Who was that?� Josephine asked.
�Your boyfriend.� Sunshine got up.
�Howie,� Josephine said dumbfounded, but lucky nobody heard what she said. She got up and joined the others in the kitchen.
�When did you get back?� Destiny asked.
�Last night,� Sunshine answered.
�Will you be joining us on our trip to Europe?� Venus questioned.
�I think I will,� Sunshine answered sitting down and smiling. �It�s time for a vacation.� Danielle just looked at her wondering what she was up to now. She knew Sunshine�s smile didn�t mean nothing. She also knew whenever Sunshine smiled like that she was planning something.
�Did you know Dani�s going out with Kevin?� Venus asked.
�Yes I do,� Sunshine said. �You got a great guy there, Dan.�
�So do you,� Danielle stated.
�What do ya mean?� Sunshine questioned. �I�m not with anyone.�
�You know exactly who and what I�m talking about,� Danielle answered, as Sunshine looked at her. �So don�t hurt him again.�
�I�m not going to,� Sunshine assured her smiling again.
�Alex is a great guy too,� Venus replied.
�You and Alex are Brian and Des all over again,� Josephine said. �You think you�re in love, but actually you�re not.� After Destiny heard that last sentence she smiled and was the happiest she has been for awhile.
Sunshine saw her smile and just shook her head and said, �I�m in love.�
�Yeah, right,� Venus said. �With who?�
�The mailman,� Destiny smirked.
�I�m in love with Alex,� Sunshine said, as Destiny and Venus looked at her. �Why does it matter right now? You�ll find out later.� She continued smiling, as Josephine, Venus, and Destiny got in the refrigerator and Danielle looked at her; shaking her head. �What?�
�Can I talk to you please?� Danielle basically demanded, grabbing Sunshine�s arm and pulling her out of the kitchen. She led her to the bedroom and shut the door. �What are you planning exactly?�
�Wouldn�t you just love to know?� Sunshine smiled.
�Yes I would. So please tell me.�
�You�ll probably think I�m retarded.�
�Just tell me.� Sunshine sat on the bed and Danielle sat next to her.
�Well for the past four months, after the fight I had with Nick, I�ve been doing a lot of thinking and I�ve been totally unfair to Nicky and decided to make it up to him.�
�And how�s that?�
�By going to Europe to see him.�
�And doing what exactly? Sleeping with him again.�
�No; something even better.�
�What could be better than that?�
�Me telling Nick I love him and asking him to marry me.�
Danielle looked at her shocked. �You�re kidding about the marriage part, right?�
�No, I�m serious. I�m going to ask him to marry me. It�ll be my way of telling him I�m really sorry for the way I�ve been treating him.�
�I can�t believe you. Are you going to get down one knee?�
�I don�t know how I�m going to do it yet. I�ll probably end up winging it. Do you think he�ll say yes?�
�He better or I�ll put him in the hospital.�
�Don�t say anything to anyone. I want it to be a surprise.�
�I swear I won�t say anything this time. You have my word. I�ll take it to the grave.�

�Yeah.� Danielle and Sunshine got off the bed and walked to the door. Before Sunshine opened the door, Danielle gave her a hug. �Good luck.� Sunshine just smiled and hugged her in return and then they rejoined their friends.
