�I don�t think I want to know,� Brian replied. �It�ll be too personal for me. Let�s just let them have a happy Valentine�s Day.�
�I wish I could, but Kevin has to spend it with my best friend, Danielle Horowitz.�
�Don�t remind me, but what are you doing tonight?�
�Oh just drowning in my heartache. How about you?�
�Probably the same, but I had this idea. How about I make dinner for the two of us and we can spend Valentine�s together. Sound good?�
�Hmm? Valentine dinner with my ex-boyfriend in Paris? Or sit in my room and drown in my heartache over Kevin? That�s a touch decision.� He smiled at her sarcasm.
�Well let me know.�
I�m just joking. I�d rather eat Valentine�s dinner with you then spend that time thinking about Kevin.�
�What would you like?�
�Surprise me. It is Valentine�s.�
They just looked at each other and smiled, as they heard footsteps coming down the steps. They waited a few seconds then heard Sunshine say, �Good afternoon.� She sat between Brian and Venus on the sofa. �Today is going to be a lovely day.� Nickolas left the parlor and went to the kitchen. �Do you know why it�ll be lovely?�
�I give up?� Brian said. �Why?�
�Because I�ll be spending it with Nicky,� Sunshine answered. �The man I love and will one day marry. Where did he go?�
�To the kitchen,� Venus replied.
�Excuse me,� Sunshine said getting up and running to the kitchen.
�She acts like a teenager,� Venus stated. �I find it funny.�
�And we�re being jealous,� Brian pointed out. �Look at us; we don�t want Kevin and Danielle to be together, because we want to be with them.�
�I�m not jealous.�
�Whatever.� He rolled his eyes. �I�m going to make myself a sandwich. Would you like one?�
�Sure,� Venus answered. �I�ll be there in a few minutes.�
�Alright.� He got up. He left Venus and walked to the kitchen. He stepped into the kitchen and found Sunshine and Nickolas kissing. He walked to the refrigerator saying, �Just act like I�m not even here and I�ll act like you�re not here.�
Nickolas and Sunshine stopped kissing and they both said, �Hey, Brian.�
�Sorry to interrupt,� Brian apologized.
�That�s alright,� Sunshine said. �Because we kiss all the time.�
�No comment,� Brian snickered.
�Ha, ha,� Nickolas said, as Brian closed the refrigerator. Nickolas turned to Sunshine and said, �We should go so we�re not late.�
�Where are we going?� Sunshine asked.
�It�s a surprise,� Nickolas replied.
�Do I have to change?� Sunshine questioned.
Nickolas looked at Sunshine�s jeans and sweater that hung from her shoulders and said. �No you don�t, because you look succulent.� He grabbed her and buried his face in her neck, playfully biting her and she laughed.
�You�re looking succulent yourself,� Sunshine stated, as they kissed.
�We�ll see you later, Brian,� Nickolas said, as Venus walked in. �Later, V.�
�Bye,� Venus and Brian said simultaneously and Sunshine and Nickolas walked out arm in arm and Venus asked, �Where are they going?�
�Who knows,� Brian said giving Venus her sandwich.
Venus set her sandwich on the table then got two glasses from the cupboard. She also set them on the table and got the milk out. She stood beside Brian while pouring their drinks and said, �This is just like old times.�
�Yes it is. I can�t believe it�ll be two years since we broke up. It feels like it was just yesterday we started dating.�
�I know.� They looked at each other and got closer. �We shared some good times.�
�That we did.� Their lips met in a kiss.
They kissed a moment then Venus said, �Where�d that come from?�
�I�m not sure, but it was nice.�
�Yes it was.� They kissed again.

�So we�re off,� Howard said. �We won�t be back until late so don�t wait up.�
�I had no plan on it,� Brian said. �I have better things to do than wait up for my grownup friends to come back from their dates.�
�Well Des and I probably won�t be back until morning,� Alexander said stepping into the room.
�That�s nice to know,� Brian said.
�What are you doing tonight?� Alexander asked.
�Nothing,� Brian replied. �Do I have a sweetie? No I don�t.�
�You can always find someone,� Howard said. �Venus is free.� Howard and Alexander smiled. Brian just looked at them and shook his head, as Destiny and Josephine walked in.
�Ladies, you look lovely,� Brian said and they smiled. Destiny wore a short black silk dress and Josephine wore a long red silk dress.
�Thank you,� both girls said walking over to Alexander and Howard.
�I�m ready,� Destiny said.
�Then lets go,� Alexander said. �We�ll see you gals in the morning.�
�See ya,� Brian, Josephine, and Howard said, as Alexander and Destiny walked from the room.
�Are you ready?� Howard asked Josephine.
�I�m always ready for you,� Josephine said kissing him and Brian rolled his eyes.
�See ya, Brian,� Howard said.
�Yeah, yeah,� Brian said looking back at his magazine, as they walked out and Kevin and Danielle walked in.
�We�re going to go,� Kevin said and Brian looked up to see Danielle in a stunning white dress. He looked at her a moment then looked at Kevin.
�Ok,� Brian said. �See ya later.�
�See ya,� Danielle said and Brian watched her walk out with Kevin and he sighed. Brian sat there a few minutes looking at the magazine in peace before he heard Sunshine and Nickolas coming downstairs arguing.
�I told you, Sweets,� he heard Nickolas say. �You look gorgeous. Succulent.� Succulent. There was that word again. What the hell was it with him using that word? Sunshine wasn�t a mouthwatering juicy piece of meat. Then again, Nickolas probably did find her mouthwatering and juicy anyway. It was Nickolas after all. �Brian, does Sunnie look gorgeous or what?�
�She looks gorgeous,� Brian said. �But why that dress? Its thirty degrees outside and its just going to get colder.�
�She looks gorgeous in that dress,� Nickolas replied.
�I said the same thing, Brian, but he insists I wear this dress,� Sunshine said. �And I�m only wearing it, because it�s Valentine�s and I love him.�
�Ain�t that sweet,� Brian said.
�We�re going to go,� Nickolas said. �We�ll see ya later.�
�I won�t wait up,� Brian said.
�Alright,� Nickolas said pulling Sunshine out of the room and Venus walked in. Brian and Venus looked at each other and then heard a door close.
�Ok, so I�ll start supper,� Brian said.
�And I�ll go change,� Venus said, as they went their separate ways.
