Sunshine parked in front of Alexander�s house at the same time Nickolas parked two cars in front of her. They walked side by side up to the front door; neither of them talking and Sunshine knocked. No one answered and she knocked again with no success. They knew Alexander was home since his car was in front of the garage. She knocked one more time to no avail.
�Now what?� Nickolas asked. Sunshine just got her keys out and picked a key. She stuck it in the keyhole and turned.

Meanwhile upstairs, Alexander and Destiny were still sleeping, but awakened by the calling of Alexander�s name. They looked at each other then jumped out of bed just as Sunshine opened the door. Sunshine looked at the two of them in shock; both just covered by a blanket now.
�Oh my God,� Sunshine said closing her eyes and opening them again to still see Nickolas� image instead of Alexander�s. �I can�t believe this.� She turned and left the room, as Alexander went after her.
�Sunn! Wait!� Alexander yelled going down the stairs behind her. �It�s not what you think!�
Sunshine stopped in the parlor, where Nickolas was waiting and turned around just as Destiny entered and Nickolas asked, �What�d I miss?�
�What is it then, Alex?� Sunshine demanded an explanation. �Because what I walked in on and what I get out of it is that my boyfriend and my best friend banged each other senseless last night after I left!� She was now yelling and they all looked at her. �If that�s not it then please let me know.�
�I can�t tell you if we did or not,� Alexander began, �we were drunk and I don�t remember.�
�You guys weren�t that drunk,� Sunshine said turning and walking out the door.
�I can�t believe you guys would do that to her,� Nickolas rebutted. �Am I the only one who learned not to do anything to upset her? Maybe she was right last night, ya know, when she asked you about telling everyone she was your girlfriend; because you wanted to get her in the sack.� With that he turned and went out the door after Sunshine.
Alexander and Destiny just stood there in silence staring at the door. They waited to see if either of their friends would come back. After a few minutes of waiting Alexander turned and went back upstairs. Destiny just sat down on the sofa and started thinking.

Sunshine stormed into the condo and slammed the door shut on Nickolas; who was right behind her. He opened the door and went in after her. Sunshine walked pass the sofa where Josephine was sitting and she looked at her, as Sunshine headed for the hall.
�Sunn, what�s wrong?� Josephine asked, but didn�t get an answer, as Sunshine disappeared down the hall. �What�d you do to her, Nick?�
�I didn�t do anything,� Nickolas said, as they heard a door slam. Josephine got up and followed Nickolas to Sunshine�s room. Nickolas went to open the door, but discovered it was locked. He knocked and said, �Sunnie, open the door please. We can talk about what happened.� Sunshine didn�t answer, but he could hear her crying.
�What happened?� Josephine asked whispering.
�Alex and Des slept together,� Nickolas began, �and Sunnie discovered them in his room this morning. She�s pretty upset by it.�
�I would be to if I found my best friend riding my boyfriend like a Harley on an unpaved road,� Josephine said, as Nickolas just looked at her.
�Sunnie, please open the door,� Nickolas begged.
�Why should I?� Sunshine asked. �Alex is probably with you waiting to tell me some more lies.�
�It�s just me and Josephine,� Nickolas said, as there was a knock at the door. Josephine walked away and Nickolas said, �It�s only me now so will you please open the door?� He waited a few seconds then the door opened part way. He waited a few seconds more then pushed the door open and saw Sunshine sitting on the bed. He walked in and closed the door; locking it behind him. He looked at her and sighed quietly. �I�d ask if you�re all right, but I know you�re not so I�m just going to skip over that.� Sunshine stayed silent and Nickolas sat beside her. �I know we haven�t talked for awhile, ya know, but I�m here if you want to. You don�t have to it�s just a suggestion.�
�He lied to me, Nick,� Sunshine said wiping her eyes with the back of her hand. �I�m supposed to be his girlfriend, but he lied to me. No matter how drunk you are, you always remember if you had sex unless someone slipped something in your drink. Why would he lie to me?�
�I don�t know. Why would he sleep with Destiny?�
�Because he couldn�t get it off me.� Nickolas just looked at her. �It�s true. You saw him last night coming onto me and trying to make me stay the night. He was trying to get a little action and I pushed him away.�
�And Des happened to be there.�
�Exactly; of course she�d be all for it since she�s in love with him. It was the perfect opportunity to make him hers.�
�So what are you going to do?�
�If you�re talking about dumping him, I don�t know. I wouldn�t want to give Des the satisfaction that she won. This is the second time she betrayed me; first with you and now this. What I should do is even up the score.� Nickolas looked at her not saying a word. �Making Alex feel how I feel, because I�m not running away this time.�
�You�re not talking about sleeping with anyone are you?�
�Not just anyone, Nicky�you.�
�Me?�
�Yeah, because I wouldn�t be able to do it with anyone else. I�d feel trashy and you�re one of his best friends just like Des is one of my best friends.�
�Sunnie, you don�t need to sleep with me to get back at Alex. Just talk to him.�
�So he can lie to me again.� She got off the bed. �Why won�t you help?�
�Because I don�t think it�s the right thing to do and Alex is one of my best friends. Also you�re not that kind of person. If you want to get back at him then flirt majorly with someone while he�s around.�
�Then why are you here and not at Alex�s? Congratulating him on a job well done.�
Nickolas got off the bed and joined Sunshine at the window. He turned her to face him and took her hands in his saying, �I�d never congratulate Alex or anyone on hurting you. And I�m not with him, because I don�t love him like I love you. I wouldn�t want to be anywhere else right now.� Sunshine just looked at him. �Why does it bother you so much?�
�Because he�s my boyfriend. You heard him make that statement last night.� She wanted to hide the truth from him, but she knew Nickolas knew better.
�You expect me to believe that?�
�Yeah.� She pulled her hands from him and walked away.
�Perhaps in the next millennium. Why is it bothering you so much? Are you in love with him?�
�No! Of course not.�
�Then what is it?� He stood behind her, as she picked up a picture and they both looked at it. �Is it me?� Sunshine stayed silent. �What�d I do now?�
�You didn�t do anything, Nicky.� She sat on the bed still holding the picture.
Nickolas knelt down in front of her and said, �Will you please tell me what�s upsetting you so much.�
�When I opened the bedroom door and I saw Alex and Des standing there I looked at Alex and saw�� She refused to finish, but just looked at Nickolas.
�What�d you see, weets?� He started rubbing her legs to calm her down some and hoped she would open up to him. �Sunnie, please.�
�I saw�� She took a deep breath and continued looking at him, as new tears formed. �You.�
�Me?� He looked at her shocked. �Why would you see me?�
�I don�t know. I think it was because I�m in love with you and I�m thinking of the worse that could happen.�
I�m in love with you, he repeated in his head. He was happy, but wasn�t going to continue on the matter and just said, �Well you just listen to me, I wasn�t with Des this morning or last night and I never will be. You�re the only girl I want now and in the future.� Sunshine just looked at him. He hugged her and she hugged him in return. �No girl, no matter how pretty she is, will be able to get me into their bed, because they won�t be you.�
�Seriously?�
�Seriously.� They continued hugging a few minutes more then Nickolas moved the picture that was between them. He set it back on the night stand and looked back at Sunshine. �Are you going to be all right?�
�I guess. Will you just hold me please?�
�You don�t have to ask me twice.� He got a grin out of her and hugged her again.
They stayed like that for the longest time not talking or moving, but just holding each other. A knock at the door interrupted them and they looked, as they heard Josephine, �Sunn, Alex is here to talk to you.�
Nickolas and Sunshine looked at each other and they got up. Sunshine took a deep breath and walked over to the door and opened it. �Let him in,� Sunshine said. Nickolas just stood there, as Alexander walked in. Sunshine and Alexander looked at each other then she turned to Nickolas, �Will you leave us so we can talk please?�
�Sure,� Nickolas said obeying her request. �I�ll be right here if you need me.� Sunshine gave a little smirk and Nickolas left closing the door behind him. Sunshine and Alexander just stood there staring at each other for the longest time.
