Josie, would you get mad at me if I tell you that I like Kevin? Destiny asked, as the two girls sat at the beach that afternoon.
Josephine looked away from the guy she was checking out and looked at her friend saying, No I wont get mad. Hes a great guy and all the girls love him, because hes sweet kind and generous. I could go on for hours. She looked around for the guy she was looking at and spied him. That sucks; he has a girlfriend.
I was thinking of asking him out, Destiny said.
Hes got a girlfriend, Josephine replied.
Whos he going out with?
That skanky whore. She pointed. She might as well not wear anything at all. Someone should tell her this isnt a nudist beach.
Im talking about Kevin, ya idiot.
Sorry. Go for it.
Are ya sure? I mean its been a year since you two been together. He might not even want a girlfriend now. Maybe I shouldnt.
Destiny, just do it. Im sure hes ready for a girlfriend. It wasnt even a month after he broke up with Sunn that we went out.
Technically they were never dating.
Right.
Does he have a girlfriend?
NoI dont know. Just ask him.
What if he says no? Then Ill feel like an idiot. Id never look him in the face again. Hell probably laugh in my face. What if he doesnt like going out with his cousins exes? What if
What if you shut up so I dont have to punch you in the face? Just freaking ask him. The worst he can do is say no and he most likely wont.
How about I go ask him now?
Please go do it.
Ill let ya know what happens.
You do that. Destiny gathered up her stuff and walked away. Josephine had a moment of piece until two little kids started fighting in front of her. She sat there a minute longer to see if they would leave. The kids wouldnt leave so she started gathering up her stuff saying, almost yelling, I cant even go to the beach for peace without two little annoying brats ruining it for me. The two kids just looked at her then ran off. Josephine got the rest of her stuff and left.

Howie, how many times do I have to tell you, Danielle said. Im not mad at you for being with Sunshine today. Im glad you two talked.
Well I know how you like spending afternoons with me, Howard said. And Im sorry.
Dont worry about it, Danielle assured him. Honestly Id rather have you and Sunn talk and make amends than have you spend the whole afternoon with me.
Thats sweet of you. He leaned over the table and kissed her.
I try. She kissed him in return. Besides, I dont want my best friend to stay mad ay my boyfriend.
I also feel bad, because you guys are leaving tomorrow and I was with Sunn.
Howie, shut up, youre starting to sound like you did something with Sunn besides talk.
Well I didnt.
I believe ya. We got the rest of the day to be together so Im not heartbroken if thats what youre wondering.
Then Im relieved. He cleaned off the table. Ill make it up to ya though.
Dont worry about it. Youre forgiven. She walked over to the sink where he was and kissed him. He kissed her in return glad she wasnt holding it against him.
They stood there with their arms around each other and Howard asked, What do you think is going to happen with Nicky and Sunn?
Hopefully love will win in the end and theyll find their way back to each other.
I think they will.
Ya think?
Oh yeah. Theyre made to be together, like, peanut butter and jelly, Fred and Wilma
I get the point, Howie.
Sunns the cool whip on Nicks chocolate pie.
Howie, you disgusting pig.
Im not being sick so get your mind out of the gutter.
Sorry. Can we talk about something elselikeus?
Why talk when we can do more?
I love the way you think. She smiled and kissed him.

Alright, Bradley, Im here so lets eat, Sunshine said stepping into his kitchen that evening and he looked at her.
Glad ya could make it, Bradley said. I said six and not ten after six. She glared at him.
Youre not even done anyway so quit your bitching, Sunshine rebutted. Can I help with anything?
I got it under control, Bradley said and Sunshine looked in the pot on the stove.
Spaghetti?
Yeah.
I had spaghetti for lunch.
Why didnt you say so? They looked at each other.
Im kidding. I didnt eat lunch except for that ice cream cone I ended up getting all over me. She picked up a breadstick and dipped it in the sauce, as Bradley watched her. So whats with the music? Silks Lose Control. She looked at him, as she took a bite of the breadstick. Mmm, this sauce is good.
Family secret recipe. She nodded.
So whats with the music? And the candles? Whats with the whole intimate setting? Youre going soft on me, Fischetti.
I thought all girls loved intimate dinners.
Only when were having a date. He looked at her. This is a date? He gave a slight grin and nodded. OhmyGod. I just thought this was as friends. She started laughing at her stupidity and Bradley just looked at her. You didnt say anything, Brad.
I know. I just thought it would be a nice surprise.
I am surprised and its nice. I just didnt pick up on the whole you interested in me thing. I just thought you were into me as a friend. He didnt say anything and checked the spaghetti. I was disappointed though.
For what?
That I thought you were just into me as a friend. He looked at her. Im into you too. She smiled. So I guess we can see how it goes tonight and if nothing comes of it then I guess we can still be friends.
Sounds like a plan.
Good. She smiled again. I shouldve known by the clothes youre wearing that you were hoping for more. You shouldve told me to dress nice.
You look fine, Sunnie.
I feel underdressed now. Im like in my scrubby clothes and youre dressed all nice. I feel like a scrub.
Wait here. He walked from the kitchen and she just stood there alone for a couple minutes. She checked the spaghetti and got a noodle from the pot. She threw it up at the ceiling and it stuck there, as Bradley walked back in. She looked at him and smiled. He changed from his dress clothes to a pair of track pants and a t-shirt and he smiled at her. Now how do ya feel?
Still scrubby, because you still look good. She walked over to him and messed up his hair. Now thats better. She backed up just as the noodle fell from the ceiling and landed in his hair. She chuckled, as he got the noodle and looked at it.
How did this get on my ceiling?
I was checking to see if they were done. She smiled and he shook his head. Lets eat. He nodded and got the spaghetti off the stove.
