�I am. Don�t worry. You have a lot more to worry about than worrying about me. Nick will take care of me.�
�I know.�
�And Alex will take care of you.� Eva didn�t say anything. �Even when you tell him the truth.�
�I told you I can�t.�
�Yes you can.�
�I don�t have the courage.�
�Yes you do. Ya just got to reach down inside and pull it out. Everything will be fine and once you tell Alex what happened you can go on and live the life you�ve always wanted and dreamed about. Happily ever after with the man of your dreams and a few kids.� She grinned.
�Yeah.� Eva sighed. �That dream seems so impossible anymore.�
�It doesn�t have to be.�
�I know.�
�So make your dreams come true, Ev.�
�Why can�t you be sick when you�re sick?� Jacqueline grinned. �You should be resting.�
�I will�when you talk to Alexander about Michigan.� A nurse walked in.
�Nurse, do you have anything to make her rest?�
�The doctor wants to speak to her in a few minutes,� the nurse said. �I�m sorry.�
�Well I want her to sleep,� Eva said.
�When the doctor is done,� the nurse said.
�I ain�t tired.� Jacqueline said.
�Yes you are,� Eva said.
�No I�m not.�
�Yeah.�
�Where�s Nick?�
�He was with Dr. Carey.�
�Is there something wrong with me that I should know about?�
�Everything is perfectly fine with you.�
�Ok.� She sighed.
�Are ya sure it�s just the flu that�s got ya sick?� Jacqueline looked at her. �You can tell me, J.� Jacqueline shook her head.
�I�m fine; just a little sick.� Eva looked at her annoyed.
�I know when you lie and you�re lying now, Jacqueline.�
�No I ain�t. I am perfectly fine.�
�Yeah, because that�s what you want us to believe, but I know better. We�ve been friends since our sandbox days back in Michigan. Jack, you are not fine.� Jacqueline wiped the tear going down her cheek. �What is it, Honey?�
�I�m just��
�Hey,� Nickolas interrupted and they looked at him.
�Hey,� Eva said, as Nickolas walked over.
�Am I interrupting?� Nickolas asked.
�Of course not,� Jacqueline replied. �I�m glad you�re back.�
�Are you all right?� Nickolas asked worried.
�I�m fine,� Jacqueline said. �I just missed you.�
�I missed you too,� Nickolas said kissing her forehead.
�Good, you�re both here,� Dr. Carey said.
�I really can�t go anywhere,� Jacqueline said.
�I�ll leave you guys alone,� Eva said. �But we will finish our conversation, Jacqueline.�
�When you talk to Alex,� Jacqueline said.
�Dr. Carey, please make sure she gets some rest,� Eva requested.
�Of course I will,� Dr. Carey stated. �This is my hospital after all.� They laughed and Jacqueline shook her head.
�Get some rest and I�ll be back later,� Eva said and she walked out. She closed the door and saw Alexander standing there. �Hey.�
�How is she?� Alexander asked.
�Sick.� Alexander nodded and looked at her. �What does Jack want you to talk to me about?� Eva looked at him surprised.
�Um, it�s nothing important.� She shook her head and sighed. �She just wants us to have some girl time and go to Hawaii alone�.without you and Nick.�
�Oh. Why didn�t ya say something before? I think it�s a fabulous idea. You and Jack need to spend some time together.�
�Yeah.� She grinned.
�You two deserve it.� Eva nodded. �When are you planning on going?�
�Um, I don�t know. It was Jackie�s idea and all. She�s making the plans.�
�Well it probably won�t be until after she�s better now.� Eva nodded.
�I�m going to go get a drink. Do you want anything?�
�I�ll come with you.�
�Alright.� He smiled and they started walking.
