Tim Hark-Wonder and Awe
Loser's Luck
For me, the thing that brings me the most wonder and awe is music. Since I myself play drums, one of the things that does it the most is when a drummer really plays well with the band. Not just plays well, but plays well with consideration to what others are playing. Not just trying to sound good himself, but trying to make the whole band sound good. My favorite band that does this very well is called "Loser's Luck." They are a band made up of three young men all from the St. Louis area. Their genre is punk rock/pop. They are since broken up, but when they were together, they were one of the areas most popular unsigned bands in the pop/punk music scene. For a long time they were on top of stlpunk.com top 10 bands of all time. When they played together, I saw them live many times at venues like, Van's Warped tour, Mississippi Nights, and The Pageant. They're drummer, Britton, is who I consider to be my all time favorite drummer. He is a huge inspiration to me and my music. He had tremendous control over what he does and the way it sounds. His ability to create fills that always seem to compliment the mood of the song never stops amazing me, no matter how many times I've heard the song. Seeing him play live was one of the best experiences I've ever had. The thing that amazed me most about him, was his style of playing at extremely fast tempos, but still being able to cleanly and smoothly.
