The Time Traveling Detective

Ever wanted to travel through time in a Tex Murphy game? Well I have good news, now you can! At the beginning of Day 5 you will receive a fax from Lucia Pernell about Dag Horton's connection with the NSA. Get and examine it. Do not go and question Mac about this! Instead, go to the alley behind the Golden Gate Hotel and ask Crazy Gary about "Dag Horton". Once you've done that, go up to Rusty's roof and enter the watertower. Turn on the viewer. Guess what? You've been instantly transported back in time! The Black Arrow Killer should be back and you'll see the whole scene again where he attacks Emily and you save the day (unless of course you're on Boulevard of Broken Dreams). Once that scene finishes, head back up to the roof and get rid of the Black Arrow Killer for good. After that scene plays out, you'll get the intro movie for Day 4 (Including the title) and according to the game, it will be Day 4 (try saving it). The only difference between this Day 4 and the last, is that it plays out like Day 5, with one major exception: You can talk to Emily and Gus (as long as you're not on the Boulevard of Broken Dreams path). This means you can question them about things like Roswell. If you play this "Day 4" through by completing all the steps you would normally complete on Day 5, you'll end up back on track and on Day 6. Several interesting points, however: Since the disappearance of the Fuchsia Flamingo from your travel list is triggered by the start of Day 5, it won't disappear for the rest of the game (since Day 5 never starts again). You are also awarded all the points you normally would get for getting rid of the Dag Horton and looking through the viewer. Also, after the Day 4 intro plays again, if you call Lucia Pernell you'll get the conversation that occurs automatically the first time you got rid of Horton.

Thanks to Blair Yeany for discovering this!
