Now I understand why I had that burst of creativity, yesterday I was watching channel 13 and I saw an ad requesting artwork from artists to be entered in an artshow auction for charity called "Art Days 2009". Later I went online to look up the info because there was no way I was going to write all of that info down. I deceiced right then and there to enter my oil paintings. This was going to be the first time I ever displayed my art. After going through my paintings I picked two to send in, "Mountain Sunset" and "Stalker". Luckily they were both the right size to fit inside my book bag because I went there on my motorcycle.
It took me forever to find KCOS because I didn't know that it was in the el paso comunity college building down a hill behind the stores. Just as I was about to give up and go home, I see a sign (which was very small) showing the address. I think the fates were testing me .
Anyway, after enter the building, I asked a lady where KCOS was and she pointed down a long hallway. The T.V. studio was in the back of the building. After walking down the long hallway, I find suite A440 and entered. Then finally I talked to the lady in charge and gave her info about me and my two art pieces. Then she asked how much I wanted to start the bid. I was at a lost. I never sold any of my art before so I shrugged and said 20 dolllars. The she said that the bids started in the hundreds so I said ok lets start there. So my art is going to have a starting bid of 125 and 135.
I hope they sell. Now I know I'm not going to make any profit but I'm more into the fact that the first time ever my art will get out there in the world...
