A little reminder to cat owners....Keep your CAT SAFE!!

The pic you see is of a small cat I discovered this past sunday sitting outside on the edge of my window. I was shocked because since last thursday I kept hearing a Cat meow and couldn't figure out where it was coming from (One wouldn't think of looking outside on the window!!).

Seeing the charm necklace that was on the small black and white cat, I knew that she wasn't a stray. So being the person that I was, I opened up the window and the Cat rushed in and I grabbed her. The Cat purred happily. I stood there holding the Cat, wondering how she got to my window. I'm on the last floor, and the only way the cat could of got up on my window was to climb from the floor below. I wanted to go downstairs and ask the person who lived below me if they owned the cat, but it was too late at night to do anything at the moment, and I had to go to school the next day.

So I knew I couldn't do anything about the cat until tuesday so I looked her over to make sure she wasn't hurt. Then I gave the cat a bath (she took it fairly well. I could tell the cat didn't like getting wet, but she didn't lash out at me or anything).  Then I dried the Cat off and give her  some water. All the store's were closed and I didn't have any food in the apartment that a cat would eat. So I put her in the bathroom for the night.

After I came home from school monday I had brought 2 cans of cat food and some cat litter and sett everthing up. Thank God the cat was potty trained and didn't make a mess of my bathroom while I was gone. She ate the food and then used the litter box right after. The cat deserved that much after spending the last few days on the edge of the window. While the Cat was in the bathroom I made up some flyers with the Cat's picture and posted them around the building. Tuesday morning my answering machine was blown up with messages from the Cat's owners. I was glad. I called the woman back and we talked. I found out that she lived on the same apartment line I did but on the second floor. So the cat escaped from an open window and climbed 2 flights up. A few mintues later the woman's nephew came up and got the Cat and I give him the Cat and the bag of Cat litter. A happy ending.

Which comes to my point. If you live in apartment building with a cat, please make sure you take safety measures. keep your windows closed or put up a screen. This story could of had a bad ending. If that Cat would of fell it would of been a sad holiday for those people.
