I got excepted at the La Guardia College EMT-B program and my first class was yesterday. Why do I want to become an Emergency Medical Techinican a job of low pay and high stress you ask? Well a long time ago I wanted to become a doctor or a nurse until I got older and reality hit and I realized that spending half your life in school and all the drama wasn't my style. and in my opinion, the EMT's are more important that the doctors anyway because without the EMT's to treat and keep the patient alive on the way  to the hospital the doctors will be out of a job. Well I hope I pass because this is not going to be a walk in the park. You have to maintain a 75% avavage and the attendance policy is very strict. Then there are the pratical Labs and the 10 hour clinical requirement and then the N.Y. State exam at the end. The only thing I got going for me is the fact that I'm into the medical stuff (since I wanted to be in the medical field before) so passing the tests shoulded be too hard. It's the hands-on stuff I'm more worried about. The only thing I can so for now is to try my best...
