Nike Shox....is not all that....
About 2 weeks ago I started running again. I should of kept up with it but after I left the army in febuary, I wasn't about to start running in the blistering cold of new york, and besides nobody was no longer telling me to get up at the crack of dawn just to run. So anyway before I left I went on a little shopping spree and bought a pair of Running sneakers (tennis shoes to us military folks). I needed a new pair anyway. The PX was selling Nike Shox for 49.99 at the time. That was like 50% off. I usually buy NB's for my running needs but since these were Nike's and I always wanted to try those shox. So fast forward to 2 weeks ago when I ran in them for the first time. I ran in them at the track in the park. Since I haven't ran since febuary, I only went one mile. I ran one mile in 11:22. Which means that I didn't get too out of shape since I left the army (I normally run one mile in 10:10 in 2 miles in 20:18 which is within acceptable limits for a female of my age). The sneakers felt okay for the first few days I ran in them. Then I tried running 1 1/2 mile. That's when the problems started. I noticed after my 5th lap around the track, my knees were not happy. I felt every impact as I ran (and this was on a padded track mind you) on the front of the sneaker espeically in the instep. I might as well ran bare foot. The Shox did their job for the back of the sneaker but not the front. They should of made the sneaker so that the "Shox's" cover the whole sneaker and not just the back. Maybe Nike did make Shox like that but I'm not sure. I'm glad I didn't try running in prospect park in those things... I'll still run in them for now until I buy a pair of NB's...... and use the Shox for stylin'.... "When I realized I was shot, I looked at my chewed up hand and thought 'Oh well... I'm calmer than I thought I was gonna be, being me and all...' and it was a good thing too. Subconsciously I guess I wasn't going to give them the satifaction of seeing me scared." -What I said to the doc during physical therpy for my hand Tigoness

You do realize that you're being totally friggin' unrealistic right? Those heavy a** shoes aren't even made for running, even the ones made for running aren't really made for running. It's a gimmick. |
