Tigoness has a sweet tooth....and a roar for justice...
I didn't do much today. But I did have a sweet tooth. So I went to Jacques Torres Chocolate Heaven on 350 hudson ave. Take the 1(9) train to houston st. It's the orange, yellow, and brown themed store that almost look a bakery on the corner. As soon as you walk in, you'll get slapped in the face by the intoxicating, sweet, wake the heck up smell of chocolate. And that's because they make all of their "Brown crack" on site. You can see the workers behind the glass walls making those sweet treats. You won't find no "80 cent" cheap chocolate here prepare to spend 4.50 and up for their "movie sized" chocolate bars. Which comes in flavors a plenty. Some of their bars contain about 70% chocolate (so you'll be feeling it for a while)! My personal favorives are the dark chocolate covered candied ginger "Gingerettes" which come in a round tin for $10.00,and the hot chocolate mix for $18.00. They use real chocolate not "coco powder" for the mix. I'm not going to type out everything they have! Go there yourself or go to their site at www.mrchocolate.com and see what they have.
You Been warned..... Ever since I came home from the army, I noticed that there's been an usaual number of homeless people lately. I tried to not pay attention to it and treat it as just a part of life. But then one day I saw a homeless man and woman (a husband and wife??),their dog,and all of their personal belongings with a sign asking for help between 36th and 37th streets on 5th ave. At first I thought it was a scam. But I went on 5th ave a few times this week and they were still there. Then today on the 4 train I saw something that almost broke my heart. There was a woman on the train with her 1 1/2 to 2 year daughter not asking for money, but for food and supplies for her daugther. That was more than I can stand. This is not acceptble. This is nyc. I "heard" that things are getting better, but I don't see it. There shouldn't be people like I mentioned above asking for help in the streets. What the heck is the rich mayor bloomberg doing????!!!!! This is why I don't vote. Policatians are all fluff and barely no action! That's why it's up to us the people to do what the "fat cats" do not. I'm going to the store tomorrow to buy food, for that homeless couple and their dog even though I have no job yet and I might have to go on public asistance if I don't find a job in a reasonable amount of time. People forget that the ones who run for office are not ordinary people in socitity that really want to make changes. It's the rich people with connections that run for office. They want to "help" but in the end they are just for the upper class people. The upper class people see changes but the lower you go the less you see happening. Rich people only make up a small percent. And We vote for these people because that' s all there is. And they brainwash you with the message that if you don't vote "you have no right to complain" and that "you don't count". The only reason why mayor bloomberg won because 1.he had money and 2.there was really nobody good out there who could replace him. It's was the same thing with President Bush and I not going to even get into details about him. These people have power because we give it to them. They'll be scared if people don't vote because then they'll know that people are tired of the crap. So what to do? 1. The higher up a person is in office the more detached from the common masses they are(unless a lot of people scream for something). So if you want to vote, vote for people on the local level. 2. Go out there and make a differance! Don't wait for Mayor/President/governeror whoever to do it for you!! Volnteer! Now we need to make some changes to the polictial system in this country. Not the way the goverment is run but the way people chosen to become president and such. Like make it so that a person income can't be over a certain amount of money. If you own like 12 oil companies you don't need to be running this country. I'm sorry, that's the way I feel about that. That's my 2 cents for now. I'm roared out. *End soapbox speech alert*End soapbox speech alert*End soapbox speech alert* That's enough for me now....I think I had too much chocolate. I might go to that comicbook convention at jacob javis center tomorrow. After doing what I got to do. "Humans are the most dangerous animal of all" Tigoness 2006-02-25 03:54:12 GMT
