A normal female trying to live in a competitive world...Okay scratch that! There's nothing sane here...
Grass eatting tigress...

I did some food shopping today. Went to the mall window shopped at target and DSW. It's that time of the month when I run low on funds. I didn't bother to go to any other stores because what is the point when you know you don't have any money? So anyway I brought a pack of Morningstar farms veggie burgers,  and some root beer soda. To answer your question, yes I'm a vegetarian.  I'm not one of those PETA-type vegetarians that scream "Fur is murder!" and throw a bucket of red paint at a fur coat wearing upper class person walking down 5th ave. No. I'm more laid back. I eat no meat, fish, or eggs.  I hardly eat Dairy, the lactose in it don't agree with me.  I mostly eat whole grain stuff and fruit. So you could say that I'm a borderline vegan. Almost. I couldn't live as a vegan. I tried it for a month and nearly lost my sanity. I give the vegans respect. It take guts and will power to live the way they do.

Why I'm a vegetarian? #1, for health reasons. People eat too much meat nowdays. Humans are not made to eat meat. Once in a while is okay (define once in a while?). Doctors and Nutritionist know this. But they can't come out and say it of course. If they did the meat industary will not be very happy. Why you think those cattle ranchers got upset during that mad-cow scare when Oprah said on her show about "never eatting a burger again"? Like Oprah have that much power (pleeeease!). Besides, if everybody knew the real deal about meat, everyone will start eatting less of it, which would mean less doctor visits, and (oh no!) the companies that make cholesterol-lowering drugs will go out of business!  #2, The welfare of the animals. The meat production is big-business. The cows, chickens, and pigs aren't running free range in the woods with smiles on their faces. Most farmers don't really care about how well-adjusted the animal is, what diseases it might be susceptible to, and what stresses and other suffering it has to withstand.  Even if farmer wanted to care, the way the agribusiness works it is almost impossible to give any mass-produced factory-farmed animal a comfortable stress-free, pain-free life before or during their terrifying trip to the slaughterhouse and continue to stay in business. I'm not going through all the details about the horrible conditions these animals live in. You can find info about that in any pro animal site.  #3, Meat has "extras"  The animals are pumped with hormones and additives. And I'm not even going to mention the stress hormones the animals produce under the chaos of slaughter houses; and those hormones don't go away after the animal is killed.

That's all the rambling I'm going to do for today.

"When the tiger kills man, man calls it horrific. When man kills tiger he calls it sport."
