Now that I had a few days to recover from my trip home, now I'm looking for a job. and not a work in mcdonalds type job that's not going to take me anywhere either. So I went to 18 washington street in mahattan to see what city jobs they have. 

So as I look on the broad, I see that they have openings for EMT. I used to be a medic once.  but that was a while ago.  So I have to take the exam.  I'm also going to apply for the post office. Now I was planing to go in the NYPD. but when I saw what their starting salery was my eyes almost popped out my head. It was higher than that when I last checked, but that was over 4 years ago.  What the heck happened???!!! Taxes and gas goes up and police officers get paid less now? After 9-11 you would think the cops would get more respect. But the city(or whoever is in charage of the cops salaries) slapped them in the face! You can't live off of 20,000 a year!  Let me stop before I get carried a way.

So anyway I applied for a few city jobs. But this is not a 1,2,3 deal. First I have to take the test and then wait on a waiting list for god knows how long.  So I'm going to apply for something decent in the mean time.

First I'm going to apply for a position related to what I was doing in the army. I was in a mechinic field. My MOS was a 63-G a fuel and electical systems repair(er). In english I fixed fuel injectors in disel engines, replaced and rebuilt  starters, DC generators, and alternators. I also rebuilt and repaired tank heaters (didn't do any of those since AIT). Anyway they are going to phase out that MOS , so I ended up doing a little bit of everything. Mostly did stuff like oil changes replaced a brake pad(shoe) or two.

But I know that the odds are stacked up against me. It's hard to beleive that in this day and age people are still discriminated against. I'm a female doing a job that is owned by males. It's going to be hard to find a job in the automotive field.  I going to keep it simple. first I going to apply to those quick ten mintue oil change places to see what happens. Then at the same time I going to apply on line at pepboys then the dealers. Even though the odds are against me I'm going to try anyway because I like what I do. I can't work in a office job setting down all day doing nothing. I'll go nuts.

Well I'll do my job prowling next week, So I'll have a fresh start. That's all with my rambling today (unless something crazy happens).
