Today I brought me a new cellphone for V-day. It was not intentional. I wasn't thinking "let me buy myself a cell for v-day". I was planning on buying a phone for a while. Most "good" phones cost like 200+. I figure if I was going to spend over 200 dollars for a phone it better do more than just take pictures, and download ringtones.

I have a cingular "Go phone" plan.  Not the "pay as you go" plan but the monthly "pre pay" plan. It's great because it doesn't require me to sell me soul to the phone company in the form of a contract. And I get the weekend free mintues (nah-nah). You don't have to worry about overages because once you use up your mintues that it. You'll have this generic female computer operator cut in and tell you to renew your mintues.  Anyway I not going to be a spoke person for cingular, just go on their website or go in the store if you want more info.

So I go into the cingular and start looking at phones. I ask the cingular person which phones could I use with my Gophone plan. He tells me that I could buy any phone except for the "blueberry phones". I didn't mind because those cellphone-handheld PC- mixes were out my price range anyway. There is no way I would pay 400+ for a phone.

So after prowling around the store looking at phones for like 30 mintues, I decided to make a choice because I didn't want the employees to think that I was planning to stick up their store or something. So I settled to get the moto raza phone but in black. That other color is butt ugly. But ARGGGG!!! They ran out! So I asked more about the 2nd phone I had my eyes on, the new motorola rokr E1. It does everything and it can play iTunes! For 249.99 it sound like a good deal. Until I asked about the memory for the iTunes. The phone comes with a 36mb memory card,which is about the size of a chocolate chip (a very small chocolate chip). I laughed. "You can't do nothing with 36mb! That enough for maybe 3 songs!"  I shoke my head thanked the man and walked out.  Not for my 249.99!

Then I went to an independent authorized cell phone dealer(Actually I had went to him an hour ago,before the cingular store). "You came back!" He said with his African accent. I told him my ordeal with the cingular store.  He offered me the rokr E1 for 270.00, but that's becuase he's inculding a 62mb card instead of the standard 36mb. I gave him the "I don't know" look. Then the manager came over and said "I'll give you the phone for 249.99 with a 138mb card(I don't remember the exact # but it's something like that) for free, just because you came back." Now that sounded like a good deal. And he told me that he is having a half off sale on bluetooth headsets this weekend. I  insepected the phone before I bought it to make sure it wasn't a used/rebuilt phone. After that I bought the phone. It's charging as I type this.  After It's finshed charging, I'll play with it and then tell ya'll what it's like. So I guess it was a good v-day for me after all.
