Two young men are bound by a sword that can cleave souls: Fuzuchi Kuraki is a quiet young high school student blessed with immense psychic powers and an ancient sword. In addition, he is the heir apparent of a sword-fighting dojo and the priesthood of a Shinto shrine that has been handed down in his family for hundreds of years.

He is searching for five other magical swords which used to belong to the shrine and are the keys to an ancient curse with the help of Nanachi Takeo, a college student with latent powers of his own, who is also the inheritor of an ancient sword.

During a ceremony that takes place every 49 years in Izumo, the two meet and have to deal with the secrets and powers buried within the birthplace of all Japanese mythology. They are going to find out that their meeting has roots in more than just coincidence.
