Advanced CARD
Tricks
|
|
These are not sleights;
ie. you don't need any prior practice (of hands). |
These are not tricks using
special deck of cards. |
Only requirement is to have a
normal deck of cards and able to identify the suits and values. Just after a game you can
perform these tricks using the same pack. |
|
TRICK 1: |
Effect : |
Magician takes few cards out of
a normal deck and fans it face towards the spectator. Spectator is asked to pick up 2
cards at any position and remember those two. Then magician shuffles the rest. Magician
then fans again but his time faces of the cards towards the table (so that neither
spectator nor the magician sees the face side of the cards) . Spectator is asked to put
his 2 cards at any 2 positions face down so that magician cannot see them. Then the cards
are given to spectator to shuffle. After that magician takes them and flips one by one
face up on the table and chooses the spectator's cards. |
|
How to perform this
trick : |
KnowHow : |
There is something you should
know about the deck of cards to perform this trick. This feature is available on all suits
but diamonds. Again not on all the cards. |
eg. ONLY on 9,3,5,6,7 and also
in "A" |
Select 3 of hearts. Out of 3
signs of hearts in the middle, 2 is pointing to one direction and other 1 is pointing to
opposite direction. |
Select 6 of clubs. Out of 6
signs of clubs in the middle, 2 is pointing to one direction and other 4 is pointing to
opposite direction |
(I think by now you know what
I'm talking about) |
So given a card you can figure out (define) its "upper side" and
"lower side" by keeping those higher number of signs towards in one direction. |
|
Trick : |
Explained considering you as the
magician. |
1. Though showing at random
select few cards out of 9,3,5,6,7,A. in Clubs, Hearts and Spades. Don't select all since
spectator may figure out the mechanism quickly. |
2. Arrange them so that all the
cards' upper side is falling towards the same direction. No matter how much you shuffle
this order is never changed. |
3. Then fan the cards towards
the spectator asking him to choose 2 cards at any desired location. |
4. While he is looking at the
cards to remember them turn my cards 180 degrees so that now my sets' card direction
is the opposite of the spectator's. |
5. Then shuffle the cards. |
6. Then ask spectator to
insert his cards back. |
7. Again shuffle. Even ask
spectator to shuffle for you. |
8. Now keep the cards one by one
face up on the table. From first 3 cards you would be able to identify the majority of
card's direction. There are 2 cards (spectator's) that's orientation is turned. Identify
those cards. Those are spectators cards. |
9. At this final stage since you
know the cards you can present them whichever way you like |
|
|
|
Things to NOTE : |
1. At any point in the trick you
can give the deck to spectator to shuffle implying that there is not preset order. |
2. Other than above cards you
can choose maximum 2 diamond cards. While browsing for the chosen card, if non is
available it should be diamond cards |
3. Once practiced you can ask
spectator to choose more than 2 cards :) |
4. At first fan if you fan cards
facing downwards it is easy for you to later rotate it 180 degrees. Since while spectator
concentrates on his cards (to remember) you can easily do the rotation. |
5. While handling cards don't
let them drop which will make the "upside" , "downside" order to be
screwed. Even while spectator is handling the cards let him keep the cards in his hand
always to be safe. Keep an eye on his cards direction. Even without noticing spectator
might rotate it 180, 360, 540 .... |
