Proter : |
|
Suits for more than
1 player. But practically 3-6 is good. |
|
1.
Game consists of 13 hands and each hand contains several rounds. Aim of a particular
round is to get rid of my cards as soon as possible by preparing "sets" on the
table face up to get rid of my cards. At the end of each round each player's marks are
noted on a piece of paper along with the name. After all the 13 hands the one with minimum
marks is to win the game. One round consists of Shuffling, Dealing, Playing and Marking
for that round. Each round said to have a "Proter". In th e first round proter
is A. In the 2nd round proter is 2 and likewise in the 13th round proter is K. |
|
2.
A SET contains mininmum 3 cards with maximum 13 cards(normally doesn't happen in
practise). Those cards that comprise set should either be on the same value or should be
same suit with consecutive values. eg. Clubs 5,Clubs 6,Clubs 7 is a set and Clubs J,
Hearts J, Diamond J is another set. Proter has special priviledges. It can be substituted
as any other card. eg. In the 4th hand, proter is 4 and Clubs 5,Clubs 6,
Hearts 4 is a valid set and Hearts 4 is substituted as Clubs 7. |
|
3.
Marking : A=1, J=11, Q=12, K=13 and others contain value mentioned on the card. In all
cases panelty is 20 marks. In case of a panelty all the changes done by that a player for
that round is rollbacked and next player starts. |
|
4. To
start the game dealer shuffles and left player to the dealer cuts the deck. Deal each
player 6 cards face down (one each for each round) anti-clockwise. Keep the rest of the
deck face down in the middle of the table. |
|
5. First
player to play is the one rightmost to the dealer. Turn to play rotates anti-clockwise.
When one's turn comes he has to take one card from the face down pile or has to take
entire face up pile of which we haven't discussed yet. Then he should try to prepare sets
and place those sets on the table faceup. Each player's first SET should not contain
proters. After ones fist set without proters he can make sets that contain proters. |
|
6. When
a one prepares sets (with or without proters) he has to make sure that the cards he is
representing(by cards value or by a proter) has not been used on the table. eg. In the 8th
hand since proter is 8, if there is a set like (Clubs 6, Spades 6, Diamond 6, Hearts 6)
already on the table and if you are going to place (Clubs5, Hearts8 and Clubs7) as a set
substituting Hearts 8 for Clubs6 it is illegal and subjected to a panelty. |
|
7. When
a player is done with his sets he has to put a card to the table face up. First player has
to create this new pile with the card he discards. When you discard a card on to this face
up pile, you can not put a card with the same number on top of previous card. When you
discard a card on to this face up pile with the same suit as the previous suit, you cannot
put 2 adjacent cards to the previous card both ways. (eg. if Clubs Q is there, you cannot
put ClubsJ,10 and ClubsK,A on top of that; and you cannot put any Q cards on it) |
|
8. The
game has got a lot of panelties. Couple of instantces are mentioned here. |
- At the end of a particular hand if my hand contains a proter |
- At the end of a particular hand if you couldn't produce at least one
set |
- You touched the face up/down piles out of my turn. |
- Substuted proter or any other card incorrectly. These panelties
should be pointed out after that player finishes his turn. |
(turn starts with him taking a card from face down pile(or
taking entire face up pile) and turn ends with him discarding a
card to face up pile. If you notice some
mistake you have to wait until he finishes his turn and all the changes made by
him should be rollbacked ie sets placed.) |
|
9. Other
than making my own sets you can enlarge existing sets on the table no matter who placed
them. And if you have a card that is substitued by a proter by another player(or even by
you in a previous round) you can substitute the real card to the proter and take the
proter to my hand to make use of my benefit. |
