Chuck's 1980 Monte Carlo

This is my friend chuck's monte carlo. This is one awesome street/strip car. It runs low 12s in the quarter so far, I wouldn't be suprised if it were to dip into the high 11s but there is no cage in the car.

The car is candy apple red I think, with a white vinyl interior. The front has the 2" Belltech drop spindles. American racing rims and 275/50/15 tires sit out back on a Ford 9" rear with disk brakes. MT E/T Streets are used at the track.

Heres a pic of the fuel sump attached to the stock gas tank. An electric pump feeds the motor.

This is the 355ci. chevy. It has ported Edelbrock aluminum heads and a victor jr. intake with a holley feeding the gas. You can see the march pulley's here which were causing some problems at the 7000rpm redline. It keeps throwing the alternator belt off, not sure why yet. The rest of the specs on the motor I do not know. The exhaust is a Torque Tech 3" true dual setup with a G-Force crossmember holding up the built TH400.

Here you can see the hand throttle/brake controls along with the tach, transbrake, linelock, and a switch panel. The msd boost retard is also still there from when the car used to have a weiand blower on it, until it split the crank in two. The car also has a manual valve body TH400 which is shifted with the column shifter, thats a lot of work but he's one hell of a driver to put this car deep into the 12s!

Here's the custom aluminum gage panel. Under it is the head unit and cd changer.

And here's a final shot from the view of my car. This was on our way to Maplegrove drag strip here in Pennsylvania.
