Path Of the Light
The light doesnt shine as brightly now.
Since the reason to long for it has gone.
It fades more and more
Into the deep, dark, lonely night.
You wonder where the fault was,
The switch? The wire? The bulb?
Or had the power simply been drained
To make this light become so dull.
But there are others that shine more brightly
Their power is full, the switch in perfect condition,
And the wires all in one piece.
The bulb is well taken care of,
Handled with great care.
Its not supposed to be broken
But we all know that it happens
And the light is nowhere to be found.
We learn to make it on our own
To find our ways through the darkness
Until the bulb is replaced
And the light yet again returns.
To aid us in our darkness,
To help guide us around the bumps
Over which we may trip and fall,
And injure our fragile selves.
The light may not shine as brightly now,
But at least it is still there
Someday the light will brighten,
And I will no longer fall,
For I will have an aid to help me
Through the bumps, and the dips that occur.
I will be able to see the path to safety.
To see the path of the light.
