HEROS&DEDICATIONS
In The American Heritage Dictionary, the hero is defined as:
1.) A person noted for feats of courage or nobility of purpose, esp. one who risked or scarified his life: a war hero.
2.) A person noted for his special achievements in a particular field: the heroes of medicine.
Well let me give you my definition of a hero.
1.) A hero is someone of normal everyday life who in any giving setting is willing to help whether it is another human or something else without regard to his/her personally well being.
2.) A person that you look to for inspiration and guidance. Someone that, through their selfless actions can inspire and push others to do and become better then they already are capable of.
3.) One that defends, fights for, or supports a cause or another person.
I would like to PERSONAL dedicate this page and inspiration for The U.O.F. to my late Grandfather, Private First Class Steven Stanley Serbin. It was through his selfless love for his family, country, and grandchildren that I dedicate this page to him. He has easily met all of the requirements to become a hero in my book. He taught me to never let anyone tell you want to do, never fight against your family, and that nothing can stand between you and the ones you love. He died in early October of 1998 from liver problems that he fought with for the past six years. He should have died six years ago, but we got lucky and he stayed with us for another six years and for that I am truly gratefully thankful. He was a World War II veteran and I can recall every one of the stories that he shared with me sitting around the table late at night. It was because of his strong pride in America and I am so dedicated today. He used to share stories about the Great Depression; Prohibition, Bootlegging, and how he had to leave school just to help his family keep going. I now realize that he helped to make my whole family's life better.
!THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING, ![]()
TO NEVER BE FORGOTTEN! ![]()
