HOTELS
Best Western Berjaya Mahe Beach Resort
Don't enter Seychelles with the intention of looking for a hotel; prebooking is mandatory. The majority of the hotels are on Mahe, primarily on the northwest coast along Beau Vallon beach. You can choose from among 28 medium to large hotels (25 to 200 rooms) or try one of the 38 guesthouses and small hotels (2 to 10 rooms) that are something of an institution in the Seychelles. Strictly regulated and monitored by the government, they are much cheaper and less formal than the big hotels and often have a small restaurant. Many of the non-airconditioned and smaller hotels in the islands have no insect screens in their windows, so mosquitos and huge but harmless rhinoceros beetles can be annoying at night.
