Greed is the English name of the fourth obstacle and called a domesticated dog because of it being an inward thing controlled by ourselves. The friendliness and laziness of a big wolfhound is just the outward cover of a viscous animal able to rip apart anything it wants to. Greed can eat us, hurt us and mangle our world if let out of control, like any animal. In a Norse world it is a very common thing to go hunting and to watch the mayhem and destruction that something so innocuous a domesticated dog can do. Greed is wanting too much. |

The second wolfhound is called Freke which translates as gluttony. Again it is a domesticated dog because of it being an inward thing controlled by ourselves. Gluttony can eat us, hurt us and mangle our world if let out of control just as greed can. If you have never watched a big wolfhound gobble and wolf down food until it pukes it all back up, you truly haven’t seen one of the most wondrous sights of gluttony this world has to offer. Gluttony is taking too much. |
